View 1 RepliesMy Acer Aspire 5820tz laptop will not work. The keyboard does not respond. The laptop sometimes goes to the Boot Manager when turned on, the boot manager flickers and is uncontrollable. Other times it gives off a loud violent beep sound. Once it went to login but the keyboard would not work so i could not login.
View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently I changed the boot logo/screen on my computer to a custom one. When I got tired of it and wanted to change it back, I googled how I could restore it. Running the CMD as admin and typing "bcdedit %WinDir% /l en-US" would restore it back to its original boot logo. I tried it and then restarted my computer as instructed. As soon as it starts to boot up I get a message from the "Windows Boot Manager" telling me that there is a file that cannot be recognized: "windows/system32/winload.exe" My drivers for my keyboard are out of date apparently as I cant press "enter" to continue. It told me i could alternatively insert my windows 7 disc and restart. I inserted that disc and restarted and the same screen comes up.

New computer above and my previous computer have Windows Updates for the same file with no KB number. Both computers have tried to install the update numerous times but fail. It says the file is Windows Internet Explorer 9. I get an error code 9C48 for which I find little info The new machine was put together April 11 and shows IE9 being installed on that date and I am already running IE 9.
The problem I am having is that new computers (direct from manufacturer) are not processing the answer file correctly I have the file set to delete the partitions and build new ones but it does not do so. What I have to do is manually delete the existing partitions that come loaded and once I have done that I reboot and then my partitions prepare correctly. How can I make this work so that it deletes and builds the partitions correctly.

I am running two windows machines, 7x64 in a LAN using Groups. They both have static IP's. If I transfer a file from one machine to the other, the rate is over 100MB per second which is very good. Going the other way, it slows to only 16KB per second.PS: Firewalls and AV turned off.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHeI am at wits end here trying to figure out how to fix this pc. A friend came to me with the Acer Aspire One D255E with a wireless internet issue. The PC is Running Windows 7 Starter 32-bit. I immediately thought "well there must be a switch that she turned off" There is no switch on the computer for the wireless card. I thought "well there must be a driver issue, Ill go to the device manager and update the driver for it". Then when I got to the device manager... Nothing shows up for a wireless lan card even existing in the laptop, but I know it does, because A) It's a "net Book" B) she was using the internet last week. So, I thought maybe it's not showing up because thee computer needs the drivers for it first, which is unusual, but since its windows 7 starter I thought it needed a kick in the rear to get it goin. So i downloaded all the drivers for the PC using a different computer, and installed the different drivers to see which one would work. Well none of them worked, and now im sitting here scratching my head on what to do next. I have scoured the web and seen a few other people with issues like this.

Now when I restart my computers/delete my adapters and let them reinstall I can usually connect my computers to one another and share files, however thats really about the only way to do it.. if I leave my computers on for 4 hours and come back they usually will lose connection.
What have I done/tried:
disabled ipv6
reset router
formatting
joining homegroup
wired/wireless connections
This problem is VERY frustrating, I just want to do simple file sharing and its turning out to be quite a problem.. ALSO when I do see my desktop from my laptop I cant access the hard drive I shared, only folders ive shared inside it.. I want to be able to share the HDD as a whole.. I've added access to everyone with full control, but it still doesnt work.
Please help, I would like to use my desktop as a server for my laptop/xbox but its turning out to be quite annoying.
this is what I did, since I have no CD-ROM, to install Windows 7 I created a partion X: NTFS and set it as the ACTIVE ONE, the put there the Windows 7 installation files, and opened prompt command to type bootsect.exe /n60 X: , next I restarted my computer, and automatically it booted into the Windows 7 setup, I installed Windows 7 on the partition C: and formatted the partition C:, everything installed and after the installation finished, a multiple choice menu appears that reads:[CODE]

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem every time I power on the system. I'm dual booting vista ultimate with win 7 build 7100; with vista I have no problem, but with 7 every time I start the system the first boot attempt gives me the error 0xc000000e after the boot manager display: "the boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible".;after a reset the system boots 7 with no problems. Win 7 is installed in a brand new hd(seagate barracuda 1.5tb) and vista on a second hd.
I've search the web for people with a similar problem with no success. I've tryed already many solutions but the problem persists(latest bios for the motherboard, latest intel sata drivers, etc). I'm hoping that this could be a bug in win 7 instead of a hardware failure for the hd. Again, the strange thing is that this only happen after the power on. After that first error, no matter how many reboots, the system always boot without problems.
For some odd reason, after doing some changes to my partitions in Windows 7 and restarting my computer, I got the ol' "BOOTMGR is missing" message. Is there any way that I can put the image file onto my USB Flash Drive and boot from it with my Acer Aspire X1200 desktop computer?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI had a dual boot system with XP Pro and Vista Ultimate 32bit everything was great.
I decided to try the Windows 7 RC but I needed a new drive due to lack of space.
My original drive is IDE, I bought a SATA drive and moved the OS's to the new drive.
I wanted to keep the old drive in system for storage so I formatted it and changed BIOS boot priority.
After fixing some minor issues with drive letter assignments due to the fact the bios reads the first and second IDE channels first then SATA.
I was all ready to install Windows 7 RC on an unallocated 100gb section of my new drive.
Note: that the old drive has a single partition formatted NTFS but is currently blank.
And I did follow the "Golden Rule" of installing the oldest OS first when I set up the computer in the first place.
The Install went fine.
Now for the problem.
Windows 7 did not add an entry into Vista's boot manager so no option to boot into Windows 7 without the install disk in the drive.
I used EasyBCD 1.7.2 from within Vista to add an entry for Windows 7. But when initially added easyBCD assigns the drive partition a drive letter that I don't have.
Therefore the entry does not show up on reboot. I changed the path to the correct drive and then the entry does show up on reboot.
But when I select Windows 7 the boot manager refuses to load Windows 7 saying that "cannot verify the digital signature of the file winload.exe"
I have tried wiping and re-installing the Windows 7 partition 3 times I've tried using the Windows 7 install disk to repair startup problems.
None of these has worked I'm at a loss as to what is happening.
If Windows 7 created a hidden partition for recovery and boot files I'm unable to find it, I thought of trying and Linux Live CD to look for the hidden partition but have not done it yet. My thought was to delete this hidden partition and wipe the Windows 7 partition and format it before re-installing either from within Vista or during the Windows 7 install process via a command prompt in an attempt to keep Windows 7 from creating this hidden partition. The problem is that I don't believe this will solve the problem due to the digital signature error reported by Vista's boot manager.
Can anybody help me with this or at least bring a perspective that I may be over-looking?
when i tried to install windows 7 ultimate 32 bit from dvd.i get this error windows could not update computers boot configuration.and setup closes.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn attempting to install W7 64 on generic non-micro ATX [full] form factor desktop, Windows 7 will successfully begin installation. Upon reboot to complete installation I am informed that the boot manager cannot be found. How might I determine what is wrong so that I might correct the problem? Might it be a problem with jumper pins? No-o-o-o, it's not IDE HDDs I'm using; it's ATA. Might Microsoft's installation disc be at fault? I'll try using a different 64-bit disc with the [legal] new license, and then a 32-b it disc with the [legal] new license, but I'm at a loss. If it were the processor, it wouldn't even get to the install GUI that originates from the disc, would it? Otherwise, I'll have to take it to the shop and pay them to do a RAID 0(striped)config/install. The reason I'm posting this here is that I strongly suspect the 64-bit edition discs to be inherently flawed. On my 64-bit processor laptop, the 64-bit disc wouldn't install, but the 32-bit one did. I never worried about that because all I'm using on it are 32-bit apps. It's only on the custom-built desktop I need the 64-bit environment.
