Any one know if driver update should take longer. Have tried to update a number of my driversafter a clean install of win 7, example being, monitor, it has a generic pnp monitor driver. When i click update driver it asks if i want to look on net which i do, it then looks for 1 second before saying driver is up to date, surely it should take longer to look or is this normal & surely there is a better driver than a generic one.
I have an HP Dx7500 that run perfectly. Before making any change i made a checkpoint for future restore. Than i update my AHCI driver (Instead regular IDE) to "Intel ICH/10R SATA AHCI controller" and windows update can't run, no error.. just clicking and nothing move.I fix it for now with system restore.. but i want my hardware to be most updated.
I have an LG W2242 monitor running from my laptop when Im at my desk. Windows 7 has installed a generic pnp monitor driver, & does not allow me an option to remove it or update it. All options are greyed out. I want to update it with the LG drivers, because with the present driver, the screen does not respond to my power saving settings (the laptop screen does, when Im using it).Does anybody know how I can force Windows to let me update the driver? FWIW, Im the owner & trying to do this with full administrative rights.Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.1OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium , Service Pack 1, 32 bitProcessor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5450 @ 1.66GHz, x64 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 13rocessor Count: 2RAM: 2046 MbGraphics Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600, 256 MbHard Drives: C: Total - 61443 MB, Free - 36726 MB; D: Total - 20481 MB, Free - 17183 MB; E: Total - 81925 MB, Free - 81060 MB; F: Total - 184323 MB, Free - 170698 MB; G: Total - 102406 MB, Free - 68504 MB; Motherboard: TOSHIBA, ISKAA, 1.00, 0123456789ABAntivirus: BitDefender Antivirus , Updated and Enabled
I have my laptop almost a year, and i don't have a problem until last month i update my nvidia driver, i getting bsod three times, and my laptop getting slow?
I have been running win 7 for about 6 mths now dual boot with xp. I have done a fresh install and got rid of xp and running win 7 straight up. My system is a Gigabyte AM2+ with a phenomII black edition 4 core., 4gb ram onboard video.
Now for the question. i got thinking today and realized i hadnt installed any chipset drivers etc. I look in device manager and all the drivers are from microsoft and from 2006 ? So i go to gigabyte and get the win 7 download but all it installs is the graphic driver and usb filter driver nothing else. I try driver max and it says my drivers are up to date. What am i missing here.
I just installed the latest ATI drivers for my video card, now in Windows update, there's an important update there for my ATI video card.
I'm reluctant to install it because I don't want it to override the latest driver from ATI that I just installed. Will the driver from Windows update do that?
Am I correct in assuming that the driver directly from the manufacturer is better than the one coming from Microsoft? Or are they just essentially the same? The driver from Win update is only 9mb +, and I think the driver from ATI is over 20mb.
If I decide not to install it, how do I keep it from reminding me over & over.
I am puzzled why Windows 7 is refusing to install a newer Realtek driver version for my net card. Using the device manager's driver update I currently have version 7.2.1127.2008 installed
the new driver is:
7.009.1105.2009 (inf info) translates into 7.9.1105.2009 (me thinks)
pointing the driver update to this newer driver tells "the installed driver is up to date"?
I just ran into a problem with my computer. My computer is running windows 7 64bit.
I got a new graphics card in today and put in my computer to crossfire. After I booted my computer back up it loaded fine, albeit slow, but crashed while installing new drivers for the card. Since then I haven't been able to get back on to that SSD(boot drive).
I can't access the advanced boot options to roll back the drivers that were installed as soon as the SSD was booted up.
looking in my bios for a shortcut, pressing f8 twice per second, holding f8 down, pressing f8 as soon as the bios screen goes away in between the system attempting to load. I just can't get to the advanced boot menu!
why my nvidia 9650m GT can't update the driver in my asus M50VN. everytime i try to update the driver. the driver is installed but show me some error message.
For some reason the driver for my large format scanner will not install stating it is missing a file in the TEMP folder, however when I open it it is there. (It stopped working, along with my other printer drivers at the update) I tried shutting off firewall entirely, and turning on read/write permission on the user folder but nothing avails. I even did a system restore but could not go back beyond the first update which is where the problem started I guess. Also the Remove or restore function of the installer shows same error.
Im trying to get Tages Driver update for windows 7 64bit. But clicking on the link to download it tells me it "Forbbidon" These guys are a registered publisher how is this possible that their website is forbbidon? Can't play a game which I bought because of this driver not being installed with compatibilty which can get frustating!
I have a Radeon HD 6670 Graphics Card. I've recently been playing black ops 2 and always got stuck on awaiting textures. I was told I need to update my drivers but there's a problem, I have no Catalyst Control Center! When I try to install it, the program never shows up. It says it successfully installed but it when I search for it in my computer the install file comes up. I've went into Windows Device Manager and it says my drivers are up to date, but when I go to AMD"s website i see a newer version. I try to download it but of course, I have no Catalyst Control Center. I have no idea how to fix this, and I hate getting into a match a minute late when playing bo2.
I have a Gateway NV59C laptop and the stock audio driver has amazing sound quality (after I adjusted the enhancements and such). However, I don't have a Line In option. I only have my built in microphone (I have checked the Show Disabled and Disconnected devices box). However, when I update the driver, I have the Line In option, but the sound quality is lessened because I don't have the option for a bass boost which is the main reason my output sound sounds so great through my headphones. Is there any way that I can have the stock enhancements (such as bass boost and loudness equalization) as well as having the Line In feature?
In Windows XP, if you try to update a driver and the OS can't find all of the driver files it will tell you which file is missing, and then give you the option to select the folder the file might be in.In Windows 7, if you try to update a driver and the OS can't find all of the driver files it halts with the message "The system cannot find the file specified" and the only option you get is to close the window.I was wondering if there is any to make Windows 7 work more like Windows XP in this regard. Perhaps a registry hack or some sort of modification? Basically I am looking for a way to make Windows 7 look for missing driver files instead of just giving up.
my graphics card is Mobility radeon HD5145 ..whenever i update my driver only the catalyst control center updates .. but the core driver is stuck at 10.8.
After installing nvidia driver 285.62 my pc just goes black after windows loading screen. I tried backrolling the driver, but still nothing. Im positive its the nvidia driver, after I uninstalled it in safe mode I had no problems booting. I'm using SLI setup with 2x GeForce 9800 gt on a Asus p67 B3 revision MB with i5-2500 processor.
Can someone for the life of me please explain how i go about updating the driver as the default one seems to print graphics realy badly, compared to what the printer is capable off.
I have tried going to device manager, its not listed or im pretty sure its not.
i have tried going to the printer propertives through the Printer and Devices window, no update driver option there?
I installed Driver Utility and it was installing 2 new drivers and a littler earlier there was a Windows update popup and it had to restart so I hit postpone for 4 hours
and so I left it to finish installing the 2 drivers and I checked on it 30 min later and it started restarting and then it showed the specs for the laptop and then it gets to a menu (all black background) and the options are
Launch Startup Repair
which finds no problems
or
Start Windows Normally
which just shows the specs and ends up on this screen
I tried doing a System Restore and it didn't even do anything from that
i keep getting this error every time i try to update my graphics card driver.
Here is a screen shot of the problem - Most/all information is in the SS , I have a HP laptop windows 7 32 bit and i do windows updates when there available. And i got bitdefender total security 2010 as a security software.
EDIT: hehe fixed , i did windows update and restored the hidden update and installed it from there (it didn't work before with this method , but magically worked now).
on Windows 7 machines? I would like to avoid customers from having to do a manual update on hundreds of machines. I was hoping there is some tool that can do that. I go the cab file from the Windows Update Catalog.
i'm having an issue with my graphics card driver. the card is a gigabyte 9800gtx+ with 1GB of DDR3 ram. at present i'm using 7.15.11.7798 drivers released for windows Vista x64 on windows 7 (build 7057). i've tried upgrading the drivers (most recently to version 186) but my screen goes black on every attempt and i've had to roll back drivers on safe mode.
