No Monitor Signal, Keyboard And Mouse Dead At Random
Sep 8, 2009I have a really strange problem, after a while (1-2 minutes) Windows just seems to freeze, the monitor signal dies and so does the keyboard and mouse. This seems to be pretty much random and does not occur at a specific time. Safe mode works well without the problem. This problem occurs both during the installation and on the installed OS. I managed to install Windows using safe mode (multiple times). I have been running XP and Linux on the same machine for a long time without any problems.
I have tried to install it multiple (allot) times, using different CDs and USB memory, same result. Even different isos. The iso I'm using is from MSDNAA and it's CRC checked. I have removed all "extra" hardware, disabled BIOS integrated hardware and usb stuff. No luck. I only have 1 monitor connected so it's not a multiple monitor problem, even tried booth DVI connectors. Have installed all the latest updates and tried different nvidia drivers.

Aug 12, 2012I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but recently on my girlfriends computer we installed a webcam and everything kinda froze. Upon restarting the computer it comes up with the screen saying a device failed and may need a startup repair. Also gives the option to start windows normally. The problem is the keyboard is not recognized to choose an option. It counts down and goes to the screen to start the startup repair, but again no mouse or keyboard. I have tried accessing the BIOS but considering the keyboard is not working i cannot do that either. I'm not sure what all is in it as I got it from a friend when he built a new one. It is a custom computer, not from a typical manufacturer. It has worked perfectly up until trying to install the webcam. I have tried using every USB port and also tried using a ps/2 converter to no avail. I'm not sure what to do anymore, and I'm afraid of messing with it too much or hard-booting it too much.

Nov 12, 2010Yesterday night I turned off my computer by pressing the power button and now my mouse and keyboard do not work anymore(in Windows). I wanted to see if it was just the mouse/keyboard itself, but I noticed nothing detects when I connect a USB device. I tried plugging it in every port and it's the same. I thought it was a hardware issue, but now I realize that it is not.
I restarted my computer and tried to get into safe mode; it worked(I was able to go up and down to select which mode I wanted to enter). Once inside safe mode and windows is loaded, the keyboard just freezes. It does not work at all. I then decided to go into bios to see what is up and everything seems right. I even screwed around and messed up my overclock settings.
So now I know my keyboard still works and it's probably a Windows issue. I wanted to see if my mouse would work. I went into Windows Repair(I might have gotten the name wrong) and voila, my mouse worked!

microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse
windows 7
zotac 560GTX 2GB grafix card
its is like the whole system just takes a pause, nothing happens, mouse and keyboard freeze up and the game pauses. even if there is no pause it happens.first noticed it in SWTOR mmo. last for a few minutes up to sometime 5 or 6 minutes. nothing happens even screen freezes then when it realeases it like nothing happened i just continue from where i left off except in a mmo then time passes as im frozen and i dont see it pass.i have swapped MoBo with an ASUS P8H67-M pro/csm with B3 revision and it still did it so i went back to my z68 chip set board

Feb 9, 2012I just bought a Netgear WNA3100 wireless usb adapter for my HP Win 7 64 bit laptop. I have been trying for 2 and half days to figure out why my speed is slow, why i don't have a good signal, and/ or if I do have a bit of a signal to my luck, why my signal comes and goes. I don't have internet at home at the moment because I am trying to save up to go to school. I am picking up a public business signal from a block away (which I have asked for permission to use), but I only am receiving not much of a signal with the Netgear usb wireless adapter.

Feb 7, 2010Ok not sure how to explain this but my mouse/keyboard occasionally freeze up for few seconds and mouse will become very very slow and beeping sound come from speakers when I try to press keys on mouse or just move it, not the standard error sound its different beep. In shooters i sometimes find my self unloading a gun in the air after the lag passes please someone help.

I tried googling but I couldn't find exact same problem but most of answers were pointing towards overheating I installed SpeedFan I alt tabbed out of stalker to look at the reading at my cores were at 60 not sure if thats enough to cause something like I described.

Normally this wouldn't be an issue but my Nivida Geforce 555 already has these settings.I'm using windows 7 and I can't change my monitor(display) settings to 60, it reverts back to 59 because of some rounding thing windows 7 dose. Because of this wow also locks to 59 hz even though the nvida settings are 60hz, due to the monitor. Is there any way to lock ether wow or the monitor settings to 60hz to stop it from crashing?

Oct 25, 2009Was playing Left 4 Dead before and noticed whenever I hold down any key on my keyboard (Logitech G15), and try to move my mouse (G9), the mouse moves, the suddenly stops for a split of a second, moves to where I want it, then stop, etc.
Almost as if the MOUSE had latency issues.
Opened up Autodesk Maya afterwards, spun my scene around using Alt + Mouse, and it's all fine.
Anyone else got anything weird like this? Running 64-bit Windows 7.
FIXED. I verified game cache and restarted computer as well as swapping my USB slots.
Keyboard And Mouse Not Working?
Mar 10, 2011Yesterday I got on my computer everything is running fine. Today got on it for awhile and suddenly the USB keyboard and USB mouse lock up. I've tried restarting it and I can't get past the first screen. It says keyboard not present or something around those lines.I plugged in a ps/2 keyboard and it works but my USB mouse will still not work. I've tried going into BIOS and making sure USB was enabled. Tried a system restore but for some reason it wont complete.

I have tried restarting. I tried using a USB keyboard. I also tried Safe mode and I've got nothing. I turned it off with the power button since I had no other choice. When it comes up with "Windows did not properly shut down" screen i can use my keyboard to select options, however, after the screen I've got nothing. My login screen comes up like normal. Feb 13, 2013when I open, it's seemingly random, programs sometimes the usb flicker on and off. For example, the mouse works 1-2 seconds then stops 1-2 seconds and continues like that. Same with the keyboard, it works a few seconds, stops and repeats.When I shut down the program it works again, 'the program' because it's been abit of everything. Sometimes it happens again, so I have to restart again etc.With the new keyboard with back lighting and mouse with dpi indicator I see that the keyboard and mouse flicker with its light on and off, one after another. Dec 10, 2012I'm seeming randomly having a problem on my self-built desktop PC where my keyboard and mouse will freeze up, leaving the computer virtually inoperable. I also get strange hangs in the mouse that last a second or so, leading up to one big hang. There's no BSOD or anything like that.I have to hard reboot in order to do anything. All programs and services continue to run and there's no real warning. Games will continue to play like normal as will videos and music, I just can't alt/tab or Cntrl/Alt/Delete. There's no indication that the devices disconnected physically or otherwise. The LEDs on the keyboard stay lit, so it's not as if it loses power.I have tried unplugging and replugging, updating USB drivers, installing and subsequently uninstalling Logitech software, and physically cleaning the fan (Just to ensure heat wasn't a factor). I've ran virus checks from Avast and Malware Bytes that have come back clean. I've looked into the event viewer, but I'm not very proficient with it and I can't seem to find anything on it.
