Anytime I play wow after a few minutes to a couple hours my computer will freeze up, sound will loop and the screen will say signal out of range, set to 1680 X 1050 at 60hz. Normally this wouldn't be an issue but my Nivida Geforce 555 already has these settings.I'm using windows 7 and I can't change my monitor(display) settings to 60, it reverts back to 59 because of some rounding thing windows 7 dose. Because of this wow also locks to 59 hz even though the nvida settings are 60hz, due to the monitor. Is there any way to lock ether wow or the monitor settings to 60hz to stop it from crashing?
So my issue is with all my full screen games, after a few minutes to a few hours the screen go's black and an error pops up on screen.
Signal out of range set to "1680 X 1050 @ 60hz"
Normally I would just put it to those settings, but the issue is these are basically my setting in the nevidia control panel my settings are exactly that. The only thing I could see is the advanced display settings are 59hz. But you can't set it to 60 because windows 7 rounds down instead of up now.
if i play a video file with vlc media player or a video on Internet, out of the ordinary happens more often and often. it looks like everything freezes. my monitor doesn't receive any signal from the pc, so it turns pitch black. the audio freezes.the sound that comes out of the speakers are a repeating sound in a jam.
I just bought a Netgear WNA3100 wireless usb adapter for my HP Win 7 64 bit laptop. I have been trying for 2 and half days to figure out why my speed is slow, why i don't have a good signal, and/ or if I do have a bit of a signal to my luck, why my signal comes and goes. I don't have internet at home at the moment because I am trying to save up to go to school. I am picking up a public business signal from a block away (which I have asked for permission to use), but I only am receiving not much of a signal with the Netgear usb wireless adapter.
i recently got a new dual-monitor desktop built by a friend and it worked fine for the first week or so. a few days ago it started getting hectic whenever i tried to turn it on, in that it would frequently do one of two things:
1) the screens would both go black and post "no signal"
2) both screens would freeze in place and it would recognize no actions aside from turning the desktop off the "no signal" issue only appears when attempting to log in or right after turning the computer on, whereas the screen-freezing would happen at any given time, whether it be logging onto the computer, checking facebook, or playing diablo iii. it currently takes me 3-4 attempts to get it running properly each day. everything in the computer is new, so it shouldn't be a problem with bad cables connecting the monitors to the tower or the ports that the cables are connected to. i've tried moving the cables to different ports on the tower, and it doesn't really seem to be affecting the problem. nothing is out of place or unscrewed inside the tower, so it's probably a software issue. the same friend that built the computer suggested that i get the latest nvidia drivers since the most recent ones were available on the 14th, whereas my current nvidia drivers are slightly older. i tried downloading the most recent one, but then i received the screen-freezing problem. whenever i attempt to download anything video-related online, the comp simply freezes up again. i can play Internet videos and diablo iii fine, just not download anything significant off the internet. my friend tried working with the comp as well, but he's at his wit's end and suggests that we get outside help in diagnosing the problem, so he recommended this site.
computer specs are as follows:
windows 7 ultimate (service pack 1) intel core i7 cpu 64-bit os x2 gtx460 video cards 12.0 gb of ram
Sometimes when I turn on my computer although computer starts but the monitor doesn't show anything. I unplug the power cable from back of computer and then replug it and after that monitor starts responding (it starts showing desktop), how can this problem be fixed.
When I switch on the computer, on the monitor, I just see the start window and green dots running, then the monitor screen went black and say 'no signal', I can't even switch off the computer unless holding the switch button for a while.
Does any know a good slpitter for splitting a HDMI signal form a WMC computer to 2 tv's? I bought one from monoprice but I can only get one signal to work. I know you use a extener but I do not want spend $200 to $300 for one just to watch 1 or 2 hrs of programs.
Computer runs very slow. Computer freezes randomly. Does not want to boot past windows startup except for in safe mode(SOMETIMES). IF IT BOOTS takes and an incredibly long time to get to the desktop (20-45min). Does not want to run programs. Runs EXTREMELY slowly (makes a windows 95 pc look like a speed demon.) Random restarts, restart loops, and shutdowns. Sometimes after turning on it will immediately shut off then turn back on. Keeps recommending windows repair on startup. Wants to run chkdsk, then freezes on it.Malware detection programs. Hardware diagnostic programs. registry tools. disk defrags. Driver updates. Windows updates. BIOS update. System restore. Windows repair tool. Repair installation (twice). WINDOWS 7 CLEAN INSTALLATION (twice).Exactly the same as the first day it started happening. So not only did I lose all programs and files, but my pc still runs like crap. Also, this is a higher end pc under a year old. [code]
I have a Gateway computer desktop that suddenly upon boot up stated that it was out of range. I am able to boot up in safe mode but cannot do anything or even get on-line. I do have a invidia (sp) video card installed. I have tried to refresh the computer to a 60 hertz but the system willl not let me change the resolution.
I've installed Windows 7 from booting from the disk formatting my HDD, all went well until the installation restarted my machine. I then get the error 'sync out of range' message. I've read in other forums that the answer to this is to start in safe mode and update drivers or lower res, the thing is, is that on your first start from the installation it wont let me start in safe mode, it tells me the 'i cannot start for the first time in safe mode restart in normal mode.
My native resolution is 1600x1200 but when i change my resolution to 1600x1200 it says 'frequency out range'. I have intel g31 without other graphic card. Then i installed gma driver it shows complete list of all resolutions but i cant set any resolution above 1600x900.
So, I have 2 computers 1 of them is a desktop pc the other one is a laptop, My Desktop pc is 2yrs old, my laptop is pretty new, 2months old or something, The icon selection range on my laptop is somewhat messed up, it's very large and stretched, here example: When it should be like this, The selection area on my pc is normal, not so stretched like on my laptop.
what a big ass step up in performance going from vista 32 bit to 7 64 bit, wow!
So anyway ive managed to get everthing else working on my computer but am having a problem setting the native resolution of my LG Flatron L204WS monitor. I've had a search in this part of the forums and couldnt find anyone with a similar problem so i hope im not posting another unecessary post!
Graphic card: 8800 GTX
Driver version: Windows update, the newest Nvidia Drivers for windows 7
Monitor cable: VGA, as this is all it supports
The problem: When trying to set the native resolution of my monitor to 1680x1050 im getting the message from my monitor that it is out of range, i think the setting for refresh rate is at 59hz and wont change to 60. I have located some LG drivers for the monitor and installed those and now windows recognizes my monitor in the advanced settings but not in the direct window of screen resolution. Could this be why? Or could it be related to the fact that the resolution atm 1400x1050 works with 59Hz but 1680x1050 does not work with 59Hz?
Ive seen a few other posts with people stuck on 59 and not being able to change to 60 but there has been no real solution found as of yet. I think i have listed all the relevant information needed for a bit of troubleshooting only if you were so kind to have a look and have a ponder
O yes there was one other very strange oddity, when i run a game such as Team Fortress 2, i can set my resolution to 1680x1050 and it runs fine, how very odd! Thats where this problem stumps me even more!

Ok so i have a nForce c51 video card. I updated to Windows 7 and it told me to update and i went along with it and ever since i updated the driver i keep on getting a "out of range" screen when i turn on the comp so i have to go to Safe Mode and uninstall the driver in order to use my computer.
Ive been trying to install a c51 driver pack from nvidia but it says it doesnt belong to Windows 7 only for xp.
How can i get my display driver and everything back to normal if it wont let me install it off the installer....?
I have a Logitech Cordless Internet Pro Combo and for some reason just out of the blue my mouse only, has lost its range. My mouse will only work 1 foot from the receiver. Prior to this, it has always worked 4-8 feet away.

I've changed my internet provider and the provided router uses a different range from my old one. The printer (OKI M361) needs a fixed IP. How can I change it back to DHCP so the new router can detect it and I can make it permanent?
I just installed Ubuntu to make my computer dual boot with Windows 7. When the option in Ubuntu came up to install it along Windows 7, I selected it. Well, after the install my monitor pops up a box saying "Out of Range" and nothing comes up, then Ubuntu boots. I never get the option to boot Win7. If I hit a button while the monitor is out of range, nothing boots.
