I am pretty new when it comes to anything to do with software hardware problems or going into the bios settings or boot menu.I do not know how to reboot from my windows 7 disk it just wont load from the Disk or fix the windows problems i am having as it is trying to repair the windows 7 problems before it loads and never loads.I have a wireless keyboard and cannot use the up and down arrows to load windows normally even bought a USB keyboard and it still wont let me scroll up or down. It will let me into the bios or boot settings. it goes into the repair windows mode and just keeps searching for problems and doesn't do anything even after leaving it for hours.i can either reformat the disk or repair the problems i am having. I am not sure if its the registry or Hardware problems that cause it not to load.... but started freezing a few days ago .I do not have a boot disk just installation disk...do i need to change something in the BIOS settings? I have tried to load from disk in the bios settings but it still wont load..
I have a very strange problem. Windows vista wont recognize my touchpad's scroll (when I move my finger up and down on the right side of the toucpad nothing happens). Ive tried fixing it in the control panel, but I apparently cant.
Also, I use a western spanish keyboard and I cant use @ (in spanish keyboard is (AltGr+Q)). I can only use it by changing the keyboard to English (Shift+2). Anybody has a solution??
I have a gateway m-6843 laptop that originally came with vista. It has a track pad, or whatever that thing on laptops is called. I installed windows 7. In both FF and IE when the cursor is NOT in the scroll area, it acts as though I am holding on to the scroll bar. So if I move my cursor down near the bottom of the main part of the browser page (again, outside of the scroll area) it acts as if I grabbed the scroll bar and flung it down. It is intermittent, but bad enough that doing anything online is almost impossible.
I have an old wired (I think it's a logitech) mouse, and it has stopped scrolling only in IE. It will scroll in Firefox though. And I don't know if it works in Chrome or not because Chrome has totally died on me and is just a mess.
how to get my mouse to scroll?
I looked for drivers thinking I maybe needed to update them, but it says drivers are not required. I have disconnected and reconnected the mouse from my PC, which is running Windows 7, and still no luck.
All of a sudden the Up & Down Arrow Keys, the Page Up & Page Down Keys, the Home & End Keys no longer work properly. Whenever I click on any of them nothing happens or I am taken to the very bottom of the page. The only way I can move up & down the page is to use the Scroll Bar.
Suddenly I cant scroll in any window in IE. If I just touch the scroll button then the window shudders to the end of the page. Just touching the button causes the window to shake up and down. In Google the curser in the search box moves on its own to the right. Cannot type in the box. Am using my XP machine for this post as my main Win 7 machine is unusable on the net. I have just tried rebooting so far, to no avail.
I just bought a new laptop (An ASUS Zenbook). I have a problem when I'm scrolling in a document (or similar, like this textbox I'm writing in now) - I can't scroll further down than where the curser is in the text. When I try, the screen just jumps back to the curser. If I scroll sideways, I control the position of the curser instead of the position of the screen. It's really annoying.I use the mousepad on the computer, and I haven't tried an external mouse.I've got a feeling that it might have something to do with scroll lock, but Asus didn't include a scroll lock button on the Zenbook (who uses that button anyways?)
For the past week whenever I click the Page Down Key, the Home Key or the Up or Down Arrow Key it takes me to the very end of the page. The only way I can move about the page is by using the Scroll Bar. Why did this suddenly start happening and how can I correct?
I am trying to deselect an item in adobe_reader...edit. preferences. internet. display pdf in browser but the window doesn't scroll to the bottom where presumably the ok button is. I deselect display, close the window, reopen the window, and display. is reselected. I can't grab the window title bar and move to the bottom either because the window is already against the top of the screen and I can't seem to resize the window and get to the bottom that way. This problem has occurred in other windows from time to time also. The people at my bank tell me I need to deselect this item for me to be able to access my account statements, which are presently not accessible, presumably because of this problem with "display pdf in browser".
I installed windows 7 but instaed of the 4 colours I get the Vista scroll bar on boot up. I have changed the screen resolution & made some changes using command prompt but no luck so far?
well this just happened out of nowhere like 1hour ago, every time i scroll around with my mouse it laggs spike, its difficult to click on a button, i already checked the control panel/mouse sensitivity and its fine, it just happened randomly.
So I have this problem with the scroll wheel on any mouse I plug into this computer. One day it was working, and suddenly it went really choppy and stopped working. I've tried different mice and it still didn't work. Uninstalled and reinstalled the mouse driver, no go. Installed Microsoft Intellipoint, no go. Plugged into USB and Serial port, no go.
a few months ago I called dell to have something on my computer fixed (I don't remember what it actually was). The dell rep remotely took over the computer and cleared out a bunch of the programs from startup in various locations. Since then I have not been able to use the scroll and multi-touch features on my mousepad. I can't find where to turn this back on and re-installing the driver has not helped.
I'm trying to select multiple files in a long row of files, to do this I drag a selection box to select all of the files I want. The problem is that I can't scroll with the mouse wheel while either of the mouse buttons is held down, or at least not outside of the library. The 'library' sub-folders are the only locations in explorer that this still works in (it works everywhere else, like browsers).Recently installed QTTabBar and Classic Shell, I also ran four .bat/registry files....Explorer_Auto_Arrange.bat Disable_Numerical_Sorting.bat/Enable_Numerical_Sorting.reg After uninstalling the two programs and running the Disable files, I still can't select and scroll in folders outside of the library. I don't think it's my mouse either because, as I said, I can do it in the libraries and the browsers; and I have a Wacam Bamboo Tablet which let's me click and after clicking with it and trying to scroll with the mouse, it still doesn't work.
I have run into this problem before and maybe there is a simple way to address it but if so I'm in the dark (I hate when that happens). The problem is that my laptop screen is very small and, like the situation tonight and other nights - I am installing a program and I have to click "Accept" to finish up and I can't see the "Accept" Link. If I move the window I see it is there but I cannot access it with the window displayed normally.I don't see any scroll bar either on the side to allow me to move further down the page.
whenever i go into the control panel to look at the mouse settings it says: Unable to connect to the synaptics pointing device driver.i have tried reinstalling the driver but nothing happened also the windows on my laptop keep going over the taskbar that is unrelated but that's also irritating and i don't know how to fix it and its making the task bar pointless because i have to minimise everything to find it.
why the second scroll wheel mapping won't work on bf3?normally i have the anti clockwise movement to crouch, and clockwise to prone, but id doesnt work 99.9% of the time.occasionally if i spinn it round and round it will do as i will do as i want but very rarely.ive tried different combinations of mapping the wheel, and testing it, it works perfectly in windows and every other game.
I can have my internet up (chrome) and it wont be involved but any other type of window i open up if i try to move it it will snap back to the postion it has been in, if i try to scroll the scroll bar will move and snap back to where it was before, my windows will flash constantly and if i try to watch a movie my task bar will flash in and out of the full screen movie.
everytime I boot up my PC, the mouse settings never seem to be saved from the last time. In the Mouse properties, it always seems to set the scroll wheel amount to "30" lines, and I always need to change it back to "3" everytime I boot. Is there a way to fix this issue? edit: I'm using a Razer Abyssus mouse
My dad is working on a Dell Studio 1735 laptop and can't get the scroll bar to work. He's tried going into mouse settings but a scroll bar option wasn't there. He also tried to update drivers and check the touch pad settings to no avail. Anyone know the solution? In dell support there is no win 7 64-bit option.
