Mouse Won't Scroll Only In IE
Dec 7, 2012I have an old wired (I think it's a logitech) mouse, and it has stopped scrolling only in IE. It will scroll in Firefox though. And I don't know if it works in Chrome or not because Chrome has totally died on me and is just a mess.
how to get my mouse to scroll?
I looked for drivers thinking I maybe needed to update them, but it says drivers are not required. I have disconnected and reconnected the mouse from my PC, which is running Windows 7, and still no luck.

Apr 2, 2009I have a very strange problem. Windows vista wont recognize my touchpad's scroll (when I move my finger up and down on the right side of the toucpad nothing happens). Ive tried fixing it in the control panel, but I apparently cant.
Also, I use a western spanish keyboard and I cant use @ (in spanish keyboard is (AltGr+Q)). I can only use it by changing the keyboard to English (Shift+2). Anybody has a solution??
Mouse With Toggle Switch Instead Of Scroll Wheel?
Apr 24, 2012Any new computer mouse with a toggle switch instead of a scroll wheel? I have a Sony mouse with that arrangement but the left click is getting a bit erratic. I suppose I could replace the switch but it would be easier to get a new mouse when this one finally quits. The toggle makes it much easier to scroll through long documents than roll, roll, roll the wheel.

Then when moving the mouse cursor, it should act exactly like I'm actually holding down the scroll bar. Then when I let the right mouse button up, it doesn't scroll any more when moving the mouse cursor. If I'm not clear about what I mean - let me know. I've tried some programs already, but only one could work like this: MouseImp Pro Live! But the sad thing is that this only seems to work in Windows, but not in other programs and such.

Oct 25, 2011Im using a microsoft wireless mouse wheel to scroll through web pages on IE9 and win 7. I set its speed to the lowest possible in control panel and it works fine.
When i restart my laptop, the speed is back up to full when i scroll, but when i check in control panel >mouse settings, the speed shows that its still set to the lowest setting. I move the slider, click apply and it works again.
how i can get my mouse wheel speed to be consistent between reboots?

In the file view of Windows File Explorer, if I click in the space and wheel scroll, everything works fine and the scrolling is smooth. Dec 22, 2011I have a gateway m-6843 laptop that originally came with vista. It has a track pad, or whatever that thing on laptops is called. I installed windows 7. In both FF and IE when the cursor is NOT in the scroll area, it acts as though I am holding on to the scroll bar. So if I move my cursor down near the bottom of the main part of the browser page (again, outside of the scroll area) it acts as if I grabbed the scroll bar and flung it down. It is intermittent, but bad enough that doing anything online is almost impossible.

Jan 2, 2010Not sure how this has happened, but when Win 7 starts up - it is flashing, rapidly (th coloured logo) and then when it gets to the log in screen, the little hourglass(well, round thing) is spinning so fast, it is like it is on speed or something.When I go to type in the password to log in, each letter I type repeats to fill the entire screen log in box.I hanaged to get into the Win 7 after using the "hold Shift 8sec" thing for the keyboard, but win 7 after that is crazy. Any click I make is like 100 clicks, everything is running at hyper speed. I cannot access my CD rom and clicking on firefox or win explorer flashes rapidly and opens and closes quicker then I can keep up.I am running a dual boot with win xp (which I am using now), so it seems my keyboard, mouse and motherboard are alright.I tried a REPAIR with Win 7, and it said there was a START UP error that was fixed, but it is not and things are still running at hyper speed.This is after an update last night when turning off the computer

I have a problem when I'm scrolling in a document (or similar, like this textbox I'm writing in now) - I can't scroll further down than where the curser is in the text. When I try, the screen just jumps back to the curser. If I scroll sideways, I control the position of the curser instead of the position of the screen. Blame me for trusting the clerk at the shop where I bought it before reading through the specs. What I could do: Build a second PC from former HighEnd bits and pieces acting as a homemade NAS. Question is will this give me the results that I demand or will it lack the same way as the NAS?
