View 4 RepliesI have a gateway m-6843 laptop that originally came with vista. It has a track pad, or whatever that thing on laptops is called. I installed windows 7. In both FF and IE when the cursor is NOT in the scroll area, it acts as though I am holding on to the scroll bar. So if I move my cursor down near the bottom of the main part of the browser page (again, outside of the scroll area) it acts as if I grabbed the scroll bar and flung it down. It is intermittent, but bad enough that doing anything online is almost impossible.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs part of my upgrade to AM3, I did a quick format of my SSD and reinstalled Windows 7, but now for some reason my mouse movement doesn't match up with my cursor movement. I installed the Microsoft drivers for my keyboard and mouse, performed all the necessary Windows updates but I still can't get it to work properly. Is there something I'm not doing? Do I need to reinstall the USB drivers for my motherboard?

View 16 Replies View RelatedI have a new HP laptop (dv6-1375dx) with pre-installed W 7 whose touchpad is listed as a "Synaptics Touchpad V6.5 on PS/2 Port".The cursor has a mind of its own and frequently jumps all over the screen when I type without (I think) my touching anything. Is there a way to reduce this annoying jumping of the cursor? I've looked at the Synaptics device properties but am not sure what I need to change.

In old windows, when you renamed a photo, it stayed in the same place in relation to all the other photos in the folder until you closed and then reopened the folder. Now in 7 and vista, as soon as you rename it, it gets reordered in the folder by name. It jumps away from its current position. With 250 photos in the folder, its hard to get it back.I need information on the photo to rename the next photo. Any way to make it stay in place till the folder is opened and closed? I can't find anything here in the forum or in folder properties, etc
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Windows 7 Professional 32 bit operating system, which is joined to a domain at my workplace. If i open Eindows Explorer and open a network drive ( I: ), then the Windows Explorer open's it, but after a few seconds later, it jumps back to the main page. It is very annoying. I have 11 network drives, but only on two networks drives occurs this problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an old wired (I think it's a logitech) mouse, and it has stopped scrolling only in IE. It will scroll in Firefox though. And I don't know if it works in Chrome or not because Chrome has totally died on me and is just a mess.
how to get my mouse to scroll?
I looked for drivers thinking I maybe needed to update them, but it says drivers are not required. I have disconnected and reconnected the mouse from my PC, which is running Windows 7, and still no luck.
All of a sudden the Up & Down Arrow Keys, the Page Up & Page Down Keys, the Home & End Keys no longer work properly. Whenever I click on any of them nothing happens or I am taken to the very bottom of the page. The only way I can move up & down the page is to use the Scroll Bar.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSuddenly I cant scroll in any window in IE. If I just touch the scroll button then the window shudders to the end of the page. Just touching the button causes the window to shake up and down. In Google the curser in the search box moves on its own to the right. Cannot type in the box. Am using my XP machine for this post as my main Win 7 machine is unusable on the net. I have just tried rebooting so far, to no avail.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am pretty new when it comes to anything to do with software hardware problems or going into the bios settings or boot menu.I do not know how to reboot from my windows 7 disk it just wont load from the Disk or fix the windows problems i am having as it is trying to repair the windows 7 problems before it loads and never loads.I have a wireless keyboard and cannot use the up and down arrows to load windows normally even bought a USB keyboard and it still wont let me scroll up or down. It will let me into the bios or boot settings. it goes into the repair windows mode and just keeps searching for problems and doesn't do anything even after leaving it for hours.i can either reformat the disk or repair the problems i am having. I am not sure if its the registry or Hardware problems that cause it not to load.... but started freezing a few days ago .I do not have a boot disk just installation disk...do i need to change something in the BIOS settings? I have tried to load from disk in the bios settings but it still wont load..
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new laptop (An ASUS Zenbook). I have a problem when I'm scrolling in a document (or similar, like this textbox I'm writing in now) - I can't scroll further down than where the curser is in the text. When I try, the screen just jumps back to the curser. If I scroll sideways, I control the position of the curser instead of the position of the screen. It's really annoying.I use the mousepad on the computer, and I haven't tried an external mouse.I've got a feeling that it might have something to do with scroll lock, but Asus didn't include a scroll lock button on the Zenbook (who uses that button anyways?)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Internet Explorer 7 and am coming across a highly annoying issue.. I open up two separate internet windows bc I use one for work-related sites and one for personal sites. Whenever I type the letter "c", the screen will jump from where I currently am to another window and minimize both internet explorer windows (but not completely.. just makes them a step down from maximized).

I am running windows 7 home prem 32bit and have tried running pretty much every program like sharp keys and key mapper with no luck.
I am trying to deselect an item in adobe_reader...edit. preferences. internet. display pdf in browser but the window doesn't scroll to the bottom where presumably the ok button is. I deselect display, close the window, reopen the window, and display. is reselected. I can't grab the window title bar and move to the bottom either because the window is already against the top of the screen and I can't seem to resize the window and get to the bottom that way. This problem has occurred in other windows from time to time also.
The people at my bank tell me I need to deselect this item for me to be able to access my account statements, which are presently not accessible, presumably because of this problem with "display pdf in browser".
I installed windows 7 but instaed of the 4 colours I get the Vista scroll bar on boot up. I have changed the screen resolution & made some changes using command prompt but no luck so far?
