For the past week whenever I click the Page Down Key, the Home Key or the Up or Down Arrow Key it takes me to the very end of the page. The only way I can move about the page is by using the Scroll Bar. Why did this suddenly start happening and how can I correct?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with my computer, in firefox and other documents the page will randomly scroll slightly, up or down at random intervals. I originally thought that this was caused by an issue with my wireless mouse, but after unplugging my mouse and keyboard from the computer the problem still occurs. What could be causing this? Vipre is showing me as clean of virus and spyware, my video drivers are up to date, what else should I look into?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just did a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on a SSD (120 GB Intel X-25M), and now I'm juggling with the dilemma of what to do with the page file. There doesn't seem to be a consensus on this issue from my internet research.Here's the situation as it stands: I have 8GB of RAM, and windows has created a 8GB page file.
1) Keep everything as is
2) Move the page file to another hdd (a WD caviar black)
3) Keep the page file on the SSD, but shrink it to 1 or 2GB
(Some people simply disabled their page file. I've ruled out this option as overkill)
a. Page file will will shorten SSD life span
b. counter-argument: maybe, but that is an over-blown concern for modern SSDs
c. If you have enough RAM (8 gigs is certainly that), the page file is useless
Most of my research was from 2009 threads and discussions though. Have things changed? Is there a better understanding of this topic now to render a verdict? I'm leaning towards shrinking my page file to 2GB (and leave it on the SSD) as a compromise between every concern.
I just installed a new SSD. Should i disable or move the page file? I currently have it disabled.. My system has 24GB of ram.. If i should have it enable.. how do i tell it to use a different drive?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a gateway m-6843 laptop that originally came with vista. It has a track pad, or whatever that thing on laptops is called. I installed windows 7. In both FF and IE when the cursor is NOT in the scroll area, it acts as though I am holding on to the scroll bar. So if I move my cursor down near the bottom of the main part of the browser page (again, outside of the scroll area) it acts as if I grabbed the scroll bar and flung it down. It is intermittent, but bad enough that doing anything online is almost impossible.

I load firefox, same issue. I load Crome, it worked for 1 day then same issue. It used to login in fine last week. It logs in fine on my 2 other PCs and my Kindlefire.I have checked for viruses with Avast and A-Malware Bytes in safe mode - nothing. These 2 pick up 98% of stuff. Personally I dont think its a virusn IE9 - Deleted browsing history, cookies, temp internet files, everything under the Geneeral/Browsing History section. Did a disk cleanup, put the site inthe trusted zone, turned off popup blocker just in case, Cleared SSL state, Reset IE9. Zippo
View 1 Replies View Relatedi have an intel i5 2400 cpu, combined with 4gb ddr3 memory. mobo is dh67bl - revision 3. no gpu installed.power supply is via corsair vx450.problem i been facing:
1) bsod saying that a clock interrupt wasnt recd. [url]
2) bsod saying: page fault in non paging area. couldnt grab a screenshot for this.
3) display randomly goes off for a split second and reappears.. but the color of the panes go blue (i havent chosen blue. my setting is for clear pane.)[url] this error solves itself after random number of hours/mins
4) display vanishes for a split second and reappears, and a small balloon at the bottom right corner prompts that the display driver had stopped working.
5) system plain hangs/stops responding. randomly happens.. but more so while on Internet, or after hrs of it idling, i come back to the comp and try to scroll the content onscreen.sometime it revives from the stuck state as if nothing happened, sometimes i have to give it a cold boot.
6) while reading forums with blue bands.. the blue bands kinda form blurry bars which stretch till the end of the screen. i tried to grab a screenshot but the screenshots were clean. the bands moved as i dragged the image about.
7) also, my comp's display went off one day and within a second came back with a blue-ish hue. it restored itself but again has gone back to blue-ish.
other relevant information:
windows 7 x64
no other os resides/installed on system
full retail version
os was installed in july.
When I click to go to the next page on a web site it takes me to the sites home page instead and in order to get to the correct next page I have to backspace and click NEXT again.

If you keep trying you get the message "freecell is not responding" or "problem with freecell executable". Could this have anything to do with a recent Norton upgrade? View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an old wired (I think it's a logitech) mouse, and it has stopped scrolling only in IE. It will scroll in Firefox though. And I don't know if it works in Chrome or not because Chrome has totally died on me and is just a mess.

I looked for drivers thinking I maybe needed to update them, but it says drivers are not required. I have disconnected and reconnected the mouse from my PC, which is running Windows 7, and still no luck.

Just touching the button causes the window to shake up and down. In Google the curser in the search box moves on its own to the right. Cannot type in the box. Am using my XP machine for this post as my main Win 7 machine is unusable on the net. I have just tried rebooting so far, to no avail.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am pretty new when it comes to anything to do with software hardware problems or going into the bios settings or boot menu.I do not know how to reboot from my windows 7 disk it just wont load from the Disk or fix the windows problems i am having as it is trying to repair the windows 7 problems before it loads and never loads.I have a wireless keyboard and cannot use the up and down arrows to load windows normally even bought a USB keyboard and it still wont let me scroll up or down. It will let me into the bios or boot settings. it goes into the repair windows mode and just keeps searching for problems and doesn't do anything even after leaving it for hours.i can either reformat the disk or repair the problems i am having. I am not sure if its the registry or Hardware problems that cause it not to load.... but started freezing a few days ago .I do not have a boot disk just installation disk...do i need to change something in the BIOS settings? I have tried to load from disk in the bios settings but it still wont load..

I have a problem when I'm scrolling in a document (or similar, like this textbox I'm writing in now) - I can't scroll further down than where the curser is in the text. When I try, the screen just jumps back to the curser. If I scroll sideways, I control the position of the curser instead of the position of the screen. It's really annoying.I use the mousepad on the computer, and I haven't tried an external mouse.I've got a feeling that it might have something to do with scroll lock, but Asus didn't include a scroll lock button on the Zenbook (who uses that button anyways?)

I am running windows 7 home prem 32bit and have tried running pretty much every program like sharp keys and key mapper with no luck.
I am trying to deselect an item in adobe_reader...edit. preferences. internet. display pdf in browser but the window doesn't scroll to the bottom where presumably the ok button is. I deselect display, close the window, reopen the window, and display. is reselected. I can't grab the window title bar and move to the bottom either because the window is already against the top of the screen and I can't seem to resize the window and get to the bottom that way. This problem has occurred in other windows from time to time also.
The people at my bank tell me I need to deselect this item for me to be able to access my account statements, which are presently not accessible, presumably because of this problem with "display pdf in browser".
I installed windows 7 but instaed of the 4 colours I get the Vista scroll bar on boot up. I have changed the screen resolution & made some changes using command prompt but no luck so far?

The dell rep remotely took over the computer and cleared out a bunch of the programs from startup in various locations. Since then I have not been able to use the scroll and multi-touch features on my mousepad. I can't find where to turn this back on and re-installing the driver has not helped.
