what game im playing... or what im in it will always flick to desktop and deselect what ever im doing. So as an example just now i was typing and google chrome became deselected? Games always jump straight to desktop every 20 seconds or so.
When typing my cursor jumps to a different point which if I dont catch it fast enough makes a nonsense of what I am trying to say. It doesn't matter how fast or slowly I type.
My brother has his eye on a game that comes out in November, which he plans on installing onto his desktop, which is Windows XP. His problem is that he also wants to install it on his laptop which is Windows 7, but his disc drive is broken. Is there a way to copy the program files over from the desktop to the laptop without going down the route of replacing the broken disc drive
My mouse keeps jumping to where ever the pointer happens to be. sometimes I will hit the space bar and I would lose the whole screen I cant use the word processor as a result.
As part of my upgrade to AM3, I did a quick format of my SSD and reinstalled Windows 7, but now for some reason my mouse movement doesn't match up with my cursor movement. I installed the Microsoft drivers for my keyboard and mouse, performed all the necessary Windows updates but I still can't get it to work properly. Is there something I'm not doing? Do I need to reinstall the USB drivers for my motherboard?
writing the BSOD codes I got on the last BSOD even tho they happen frequently, afterwards I write down the system information + attach the files required in the report guide. And some hardware information, In addition I Attach the windows error reporting in case you'll need to look through some of it.

I've noticed on newer games that when I tap the "Windows" key on my keyboard, I can't get back to my Desktop. This is a bit of an irksome problem for me... I'd like to monitor some things in my Task Manager from time to time and can't do this without being able to get that Windows key to function properly (don't want to buy FRAPS etc because I don't mind exiting the game keeping it running to do it the good old fashioned way for free, when I can get it to work like that). I've tried Ctrl+Alt+Del, pulled up Task Manager, but when I'm done and it does launch that in my Desktop, I then am unable to get these games to launch back up when I'm done checking CPU/RAM and temperatures (so far this is going on with Fallout 3 and Skyrim; Sims 3 and Oblivion etc. are unaffected) how I can use my Notebook's screen to look at other things online and etc. while gaming on my external 23" Monitor. I haven't quite worked that out yet and I'd really like to stop using my old Desktop to do that (it's slow, dying and redundant in addition to a waste of electricity to be doing that).
I've lately had this weird issue while im playing games, it just drops to desktop every 5 minutes, and if i press any letters on my keyboard it makes a sound as if a program denies it (don't really know how too explain it better, hopefully you understand). There is no error or such, i can just click again on the game icon, but it will dropp out after 5 minutes. This happens also while i surf the internett and do other stuff. The drops dont always occure, but when they do, they occure every 5 minutes, almost precisely, as if it was scheduled or something.Ive tried reinstalling graphic card, sound drivers, and installing older versions with no luck. I've tried closing almost all active programs (including desktop manager and sidebar), without any luck.It seems as i have some kind of invisible program
This is a recently developed problem, as I've been playing Saints row the third and skyrim the game crashes after about 30 min. Not every time though. like 1 out of 3 times I play. The game will be working great (no lag or drop in frame rate) and it just up and closes to the desktop. No crash report or any other form of notification of what happened. I looked at the event viewer and I wasn't sure where to look in it but I looked in windows logs->applications and I found this error around the time of one of the crashes:Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.I'm new to this forum but I entered all of my pc info on my profile so I think you would be able to view it there.
When I play SWTOR and WOW it randomly crashes to desktop. My browsers also stop responding and crashes (usually with java or flashplayer) I have updated all java`s and flashplayers btw.I monitored my pc using afterburner (did no clocking whats so ever, was at default) and all temparatures where normal - at 30C on idle and around 50-60C while gaming.
After installing a new GTX 660, my computer is now having problems with Windows Desktop Manager. Whenever I play a game like BF3 or Arma II, the desktop manager crashes. So far I have tried disabling WDM, repair install, using the hardware scanner, memtest, clean boot, and updating drivers. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I have: AMD Phenom II x4 955 3.4ghz 8gb of ram GTX 660 MSI motherboard Windows 7 2 monitors: 1 HDMI and 1 DVI to VGA with an adapter
I have a new HP laptop (dv6-1375dx) with pre-installed W 7 whose touchpad is listed as a "Synaptics Touchpad V6.5 on PS/2 Port".The cursor has a mind of its own and frequently jumps all over the screen when I type without (I think) my touching anything. Is there a way to reduce this annoying jumping of the cursor? I've looked at the Synaptics device properties but am not sure what I need to change.
Got a new home build Core I5 3rd gen at 4.4GB 8gb RAM, 120 SSD with the OS, 2GB HDD for anything else, ATI 7970. Win 7 home 64 bit. When I play games, I can play for a while, then I get Game name has stopped working, or a BSOD?
All games I've played recently (both single and multiplayer, whether through Steam, Origin, or standalone, internal or external drive) occasionally freeze up and then recover. It usually lasts only a couple of seconds. Example games:Dragon Age II (singleplayer, through Origin, external drive) League of Legends (multiplayer, internal drive) Raiderz (multiplayer, internal drive) Jade Empire (singleplayer, through Steam, external drive) Skyrim (singleplayer, through Steam, external drive) Dark Souls (multiplayer, through Steam, external drive) I haven't checked every single game on my system, I can try others if that will help diagnose the problem.
My systemMac Pro 2009, dual booting Windows 7 Home Premium, SP1, 64-bit OS with Boot Camp. Problem is with Windows 7 boot. 2 Quad Core Intel Xeon CPU - W3540 @ 2.93.GHz 3.06GHz 8 GB RAM ATI Radeon HD 5870 Some games are on an external drive. There does not seem to be a difference in how often games on internal vs external hang. Things I have already triedEverything on the troubleshooting thread except relating to DirectX 11 (these games aren't using it on my current settings) Everything on this "games hang briefly but periodically" thread Alt-Tab to Resource Monitor after a hang. No strong correlations found. Some spikes in Queue Length, some in CPU, nothing I can identify as obviously related. Reinstalling Windows & games with a fresh Boot Camp partition (When all else fails... no good though.) Upgrading my graphics card (I wanted to do this anyway, hoped it would help... games are a lot prettier, but no dice on the hanging problem) Order of events:No problem for ~3 years of use Installed Dragon Age II, needed to update graphics driver for it to run. At the time I had NVIDIA GeForce GT 120. I did a fresh driver install, initially I thought this might be the reason because it could have cleared out something from Boot Camp's special drivers. DA2 running, is first game to show hanging problem. Mainly happens at start of battle. Noticed next in League of Legends.First attempt at troubleshooting. Updated all drivers, Windows 7 updates, etc. Re-installed Windows in a clean Boot Camp partition, since (as noted) I thought I might have messed up some of BC's drivers. No improvement. Got tired of my overall crappy graphics and got a new graphics card, hoping it would also fix the hang problem. New card: ATI Radeon HD 5870. Games are super pretty! Still hang. Followed all of troubleshooting and hanging thread advice, minus DirectX 11 settings (since not using 11--even DA2 is set to 10). Still no improvement. I know my way around a computer but I'm no expert, and this is over my head. My only remaining theory is that it's something about running on Boot Camp--but it was fine for 3 years.
I am having a serious problem the cursor that keeps jumping and relocating all over the place making typing quite difficut. Cant type anymore. This is a dell laptop.

In old windows, when you renamed a photo, it stayed in the same place in relation to all the other photos in the folder until you closed and then reopened the folder. Now in 7 and vista, as soon as you rename it, it gets reordered in the folder by name. It jumps away from its current position. With 250 photos in the folder, its hard to get it back.I need information on the photo to rename the next photo. Any way to make it stay in place till the folder is opened and closed? I can't find anything here in the forum or in folder properties, etc
I have a Windows 7 Professional 32 bit operating system, which is joined to a domain at my workplace. If i open Eindows Explorer and open a network drive ( I: ), then the Windows Explorer open's it, but after a few seconds later, it jumps back to the main page. It is very annoying. I have 11 network drives, but only on two networks drives occurs this problem.
I am using Internet Explorer 7 and am coming across a highly annoying issue.. I open up two separate internet windows bc I use one for work-related sites and one for personal sites. Whenever I type the letter "c", the screen will jump from where I currently am to another window and minimize both internet explorer windows (but not completely.. just makes them a step down from maximized).
The autostart function is not working properly. When introduced a CD Rom into the drive, it has all the autostart functions for movies, pics, documents, but instead of starting the games directly, It allways ask me to open the file, movies or pics, but the game never starts automatically as It used to do in the past Windows versions, and in Windows 7 BEFORE SP1. It's imposible to play games that require the insertion of the disc into the CD Rom Drive, for the same reason.Im running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and have a LG Super Multi RwDVD +R DL Light scribe multirecorder.
ok so i have a problem thats been driving me insane. my toshiba F50 was working totally fine until suddenly during games my GPU started overheating quickly during games (Was not doing this before) i noticed that my fan didnt seem to be spinning as fast as before. i cleaned it still no avail, tried riva tuner and ntune and all of that jazz and all of them have the fan control options greyed out? (cannot use them)i noticed that when i start the laptop the POST test on the fans guns the fan to 100% speed so i know its capable of doing it. it seems like the fan doesnt know to speed up when it gets hot and it keeps shutting my system down and i reallllly dont feel like damaging my GPU. i tried rolling back my drivers and running the latest drivers.
