View 4 Replies View Relatedmy computer did have BSOD problem since I've tried to add 2 GB of RAM on my Windows XP SP 3 on October 2011. BSOD came out after playing a game for 6-30 minutes (or game application crashed) or viewing a video (random occurence). After getting no results of all to cure BSOD, I decided to change my OS to Windows 7 and I still got this problem. I've tried to bring my CPU to service center with no luck at all.
Here, I attached my recent dump and perfmon report with it. Although a few hours before I post this thread, I cleaned earlier dumps with CCleaner. I'll be sure to attach new dump and report if another BSOD occurs. And let me know if my attached files get corrupted or cannot be read. Attachment 214777 Attachment 214778
Oh yeah, another thing, my antivirus scanner detected BSOD & System File Collection app as a virus, so I ignored it.
So my computer spec is :
Windows 7 x86 Ultimate
Intel Core2Duo CPU E4600 @ 2.40 Ghz
2 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 SE
My computer freezes every five minutes or so while playing games or running Firefox. It's been doing this for the last 6 months and most of the time it freezes for a few minutes then runs fine for a while. Then it freezes again. Eventually I have to hard reboot.
View 9 Replies View RelatedYou all know the Graphic Rotation option available on Intel Video chipsets? Well, i was typing along, and suddenly my screen want blank. So i was like WTH? Then the screen came back to life..... Sideways. So, after straining my neck trying to maneuver the cursor to my desktop, i set my monitor straight, and went back to work, thinking it was a fluke, then it did it to me again. Then it dawned on me that whenever i press an arrow key, the screen flipped in said direction! Down for Upside down, Left for sideways left, right for sideways right, and up for normal. I need my arrow keys so that i can effectively type, since i use them as an alternative for backspace when i need to fix an error, and for scrolling through webpages and such.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a relatively new Windows 7 enterprise 64-bit install. This is a domain account, so I have to do ctrl+alt+del to login. After entering my password, the welcome notice comes up (with the spinning circle), and it takes quite a while for the desktop to appear. It can be as long as a couple of minutes. This is a pretty fast rig (i5 2500K/GA-Z68X-UD3H/F312800CL8D-8GBXM) and when I first set it up it, my desktop appeared about 10 seconds after hitting the power button, including login.
Is the use of the domain account the likely cause of the delay, or could this be something else like automatic update? I'm not sure how I would go about finding out.
My desktop changed by itself and when I am online the screen goes to black every few minutes even though I am sure I disabled the sreensaver. My antivirus icon also disappeared from the website.

View 0 Replies View RelatedI bought the retail version of Windows 7 Home Premium last year and am currently using it on my mbp via bootcamp. I am now building my own computer. I want to know if I can install and activate windows 7 on my new pc and deactivate but not uninstall it on my current macbook. So I want to keep windows 7 installed on my laptop and I don't mind losing the updates and anti virus.
The second part of my question is that will it be possible to deactivate it from my to be built computer and reactivate it on my laptop a year later?I won't be using the laptop for now but I will be using it later and my pc will be left unused for some months. Can I keep windows 7 installed on both my macbook and my pc and switch the license between the 2 of them when I need to?

I've noticed on newer games that when I tap the "Windows" key on my keyboard, I can't get back to my Desktop. This is a bit of an irksome problem for me... I'd like to monitor some things in my Task Manager from time to time and can't do this without being able to get that Windows key to function properly (don't want to buy FRAPS etc because I don't mind exiting the game keeping it running to do it the good old fashioned way for free, when I can get it to work like that). I've tried Ctrl+Alt+Del, pulled up Task Manager, but when I'm done and it does launch that in my Desktop, I then am unable to get these games to launch back up when I'm done checking CPU/RAM and temperatures (so far this is going on with Fallout 3 and Skyrim; Sims 3 and Oblivion etc. are unaffected) how I can use my Notebook's screen to look at other things online and etc. while gaming on my external 23" Monitor. I haven't quite worked that out yet and I'd really like to stop using my old Desktop to do that (it's slow, dying and redundant in addition to a waste of electricity to be doing that).
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've lately had this weird issue while im playing games, it just drops to desktop every 5 minutes, and if i press any letters on my keyboard it makes a sound as if a program denies it (don't really know how too explain it better, hopefully you understand). There is no error or such, i can just click again on the game icon, but it will dropp out after 5 minutes. This happens also while i surf the internett and do other stuff. The drops dont always occure, but when they do, they occure every 5 minutes, almost precisely, as if it was scheduled or something.Ive tried reinstalling graphic card, sound drivers, and installing older versions with no luck. I've tried closing almost all active programs (including desktop manager and sidebar), without any luck.It seems as i have some kind of invisible program
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is a recently developed problem, as I've been playing Saints row the third and skyrim the game crashes after about 30 min. Not every time though. like 1 out of 3 times I play. The game will be working great (no lag or drop in frame rate) and it just up and closes to the desktop. No crash report or any other form of notification of what happened. I looked at the event viewer and I wasn't sure where to look in it but I looked in windows logs->applications and I found this error around the time of one of the crashes:Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.I'm new to this forum but I entered all of my pc info on my profile so I think you would be able to view it there.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAll games I've played recently (both single and multiplayer, whether through Steam, Origin, or standalone, internal or external drive) occasionally freeze up and then recover. It usually lasts only a couple of seconds. Example games:Dragon Age II (singleplayer, through Origin, external drive) League of Legends (multiplayer, internal drive) Raiderz (multiplayer, internal drive) Jade Empire (singleplayer, through Steam, external drive) Skyrim (singleplayer, through Steam, external drive) Dark Souls (multiplayer, through Steam, external drive) I haven't checked every single game on my system, I can try others if that will help diagnose the problem.
My systemMac Pro 2009, dual booting Windows 7 Home Premium, SP1, 64-bit OS with Boot Camp. Problem is with Windows 7 boot. 2 Quad Core Intel Xeon CPU - W3540 @ 2.93.GHz 3.06GHz 8 GB RAM ATI Radeon HD 5870 Some games are on an external drive. There does not seem to be a difference in how often games on internal vs external hang. Things I have already triedEverything on the troubleshooting thread except relating to DirectX 11 (these games aren't using it on my current settings) Everything on this "games hang briefly but periodically" thread Alt-Tab to Resource Monitor after a hang. No strong correlations found. Some spikes in Queue Length, some in CPU, nothing I can identify as obviously related. Reinstalling Windows & games with a fresh Boot Camp partition (When all else fails... no good though.) Upgrading my graphics card (I wanted to do this anyway, hoped it would help... games are a lot prettier, but no dice on the hanging problem) Order of events:No problem for ~3 years of use Installed Dragon Age II, needed to update graphics driver for it to run. At the time I had NVIDIA GeForce GT 120. I did a fresh driver install, initially I thought this might be the reason because it could have cleared out something from Boot Camp's special drivers. DA2 running, is first game to show hanging problem. Mainly happens at start of battle. Noticed next in League of Legends.First attempt at troubleshooting. Updated all drivers, Windows 7 updates, etc. Re-installed Windows in a clean Boot Camp partition, since (as noted) I thought I might have messed up some of BC's drivers. No improvement. Got tired of my overall crappy graphics and got a new graphics card, hoping it would also fix the hang problem. New card: ATI Radeon HD 5870. Games are super pretty! Still hang. Followed all of troubleshooting and hanging thread advice, minus DirectX 11 settings (since not using 11--even DA2 is set to 10). Still no improvement. I know my way around a computer but I'm no expert, and this is over my head. My only remaining theory is that it's something about running on Boot Camp--but it was fine for 3 years.
I currently have it set to turn off my displays at 3 minutes of inactivity, and put the computer to sleep after 10 minutes.Sometimes, the displays won't turn off after 3 minutes, but it will then put the computer to sleep after 10 minutes while the displays are still on. More often, it will turn the displays off, but won't ever put the computer to sleep. Why wouldn't the computer go to sleep?Wouldn't any activity turn the displays back on? And so if they don't come back on, why wouldn't it go to sleep?why wouldn't the displays turn off, and then it goes to sleep?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe autostart function is not working properly. When introduced a CD Rom into the drive, it has all the autostart functions for movies, pics, documents, but instead of starting the games directly, It allways ask me to open the file, movies or pics, but the game never starts automatically as It used to do in the past Windows versions, and in Windows 7 BEFORE SP1. It's imposible to play games that require the insertion of the disc into the CD Rom Drive, for the same reason.Im running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and have a LG Super Multi RwDVD +R DL Light scribe multirecorder.

(cannot use them)i noticed that when i start the laptop the POST test on the fans guns the fan to 100% speed so i know its capable of doing it. it seems like the fan doesnt know to speed up when it gets hot and it keeps shutting my system down and i reallllly dont feel like damaging my GPU. i tried rolling back my drivers and running the latest drivers.
