I can have my internet up (chrome) and it wont be involved but any other type of window i open up if i try to move it it will snap back to the postion it has been in, if i try to scroll the scroll bar will move and snap back to where it was before, my windows will flash constantly and if i try to watch a movie my task bar will flash in and out of the full screen movie.
I'm trying to select multiple files in a long row of files, to do this I drag a selection box to select all of the files I want. The problem is that I can't scroll with the mouse wheel while either of the mouse buttons is held down, or at least not outside of the library. The 'library' sub-folders are the only locations in explorer that this still works in (it works everywhere else, like browsers).Recently installed QTTabBar and Classic Shell, I also ran four .bat/registry files....Explorer_Auto_Arrange.bat Disable_Numerical_Sorting.bat/Enable_Numerical_Sorting.reg After uninstalling the two programs and running the Disable files, I still can't select and scroll in folders outside of the library. I don't think it's my mouse either because, as I said, I can do it in the libraries and the browsers; and I have a Wacam Bamboo Tablet which let's me click and after clicking with it and trying to scroll with the mouse, it still doesn't work.
I have researched this problem quite a bit and tried several possible solutions that have worked for many users yet nothing had worked. I have tried several different drivers, tried tweaking settings with no solution in sight.
I have a gateway m-6843 laptop that originally came with vista. It has a track pad, or whatever that thing on laptops is called. I installed windows 7. In both FF and IE when the cursor is NOT in the scroll area, it acts as though I am holding on to the scroll bar. So if I move my cursor down near the bottom of the main part of the browser page (again, outside of the scroll area) it acts as if I grabbed the scroll bar and flung it down. It is intermittent, but bad enough that doing anything online is almost impossible.
My dad is working on a Dell Studio 1735 laptop and can't get the scroll bar to work. He's tried going into mouse settings but a scroll bar option wasn't there. He also tried to update drivers and check the touch pad settings to no avail. Anyone know the solution? In dell support there is no win 7 64-bit option.
My OS on my notebook is Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. I have an issue with cmd.exe. I cant scroll properly. For example if I type ipconfig /all, it runs however, I can't return to the top (the line which says the version etc. or even to the line where I typed ipconfig) It does not allow me to scroll the beyond the height of the window, so the first line I am able to see is lease expires. Another example is, when I type help, I can;t see the whole list of commands. Scrollbar doesn't go beyond a certain limit.
I have a Vaio laptop with Windows 7. the scroll feature on the touchpad is ever so annoying. How do I remove this option? I have gone to the Start button, then mouse features but have not found a way to disable the scrolling.
I just want to know the purpose of using a screensaver in any operating system. Does it affect the performance of the hardware and system as a whole. Also tell me if it is advantageous to use a screensaver and in what way(s) and please cite its demerits(is any).
Quick question. I have windows XP and have for some time now. My friends and family all tell me that 7 is the new way to go, but ive been a bit skeptical. I mostly game and use the internet, so here are my questions: should i upgrade to windows 7 or not? what are the +s and -s of doing so? is it a waste of money? should i just keep what i have?
i have windows 7 laptop that i have had for only a few months for all the time I have used it when I press ALT+Tab keys there came up with a viewer that I could scroll through open windows by selecting a from miniature images of that window... recently this changed to what I understand to the Windows XP viewer that only displays icons to scroll through when ALT+Tab is pressed... I dont think I downloaded anything harmful to do this but I also don't remember changing any setting to have this happen, how do I chage it back?
when I open PDF file in Fx (open in new tab), I can scroll only that PDF file, however if I change focus to other tabs it doesn't work (external mouse is not affected, only touchpad).Closing PDF tab restores scrolling ability.
When I open a folder using the tree in the left pane the position of the selected folder change. It's like the layout of the tree pane is not working fine. Maybe they autoscroll in order to display all the child's folders but I don't like this. When the folder i want to open is in the middle of the pane (vertically) it moves often to the bottom and i can't even see the child's folder, and some time it move the opened folder to the top of the pane
I just would like to have the thing working as it's in XP. When we open a folder, this one don't move and the children appears under this one.
I want use a self build pc. The spec are Asus motherboard Intel socket 775 2.6 quad core oc'ed to 3.1 16 gig of 1333 ddr3 ram and a Asus Nivida 9800gt graphic card. Would this system be good enough to run and play tv programs?
I am considering getting rid of my CME-UF5 Midi keyboard since there is no possibility of running it under Windows 7 and purchasing something new. Although I did like the quality and weight of the keys with CME vs M-Audio, I suspect M-Audio would have much better driver support and customer support for future updates, CME was certainly lacking in this department considering they didn't even provide a Vista driver for this damn thing. I browsed through forums and it seems that someone had created their own Vista driver for it by modyfing the XP one while others claimed that due to the hardware inside this keyboard, there would be no way to run it outside of an 32bit XP environment.
I am currently looking for a good anti malware application, something that can hunt and kill a trojan.I currently use malwarebytes, but Malwarebytes is not catching and removing this.
I recently bought a new dell laptop. Im running a Windows 7 Home premium x64. Now since the start i have noticed a few weird things happening. 1. When ever im using a browser ie. Internet explorer and google chrome, my browser scrolls down automatically to the bottom page even if im typing or watching a video.2. when im playing a fulls screen online video my video tends to auto pause.3. when ever i donot have a browser open and i open any other window/application everything minimizes, though i haven't noticed these issues when im playing game in full screen.
Dell Studio 1535 I've successfully installed Windows 7 on a clients laptop, the thing is the touchpad won't scroll anymore after having installed Windows 7.I have all the drivers and everything, even the driver for the touchpad.I just can't figure out to set/configure the touchpad to scroll again.
Note: The touchpad itself does work, but it just won't scroll.
I have a clean Vista Home Premium System and am quite happy with performance (no crashes, everything runs fine). Are there any good reasons that I should upgrade to Win 7. I have a 32-bit, so going to 64 Win 7 would mean fresh install. I don't want to do that so I would just be upgrading to Win 7 32-bit.

i have been playing Microsoft midtown madness game for about 9 years now, i was wondering if there is any game similar to this where you can download add-on cars for free. Midtown madness is very buggy on windows 7 so i need a game very similar to this one.
I purchased a new computer with 64bit machine and windows 7, was very excited to get it. Now that excitement has turn to dispear. The system keeps crashing, for no good reason that I can see. I have limited experience with Windows, but have looked at the event viewer.I searched other sites for solutions, but not getting anywhere.I have the following ID crit and errors: 41, 6008 & 10010.At first I tried fixing the paging requirement, as the paging was set lower than the actual amount of RAM. I fixed that and that has not helped.
I have a "passwords file" which contains all the passwords for every account I have made. Now I know this isn't the safest thing, since it's on my computer where I can get a trojan and I can get every one hacked. So I wanted a place where I can store this file (maybe online storage)? So it's safe and not on my hard drive. I'm thinking Dropbox? How do I know it's safe and reliable there?
Not sure if this is due to my hardware or some setting in Windows 7. I have Win 7 Pro x64 on a Sony Vaio ZPCZ11. Using the MS Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 7000. In the file view of Windows File Explorer, if I click in the space and wheel scroll, everything works fine and the scrolling is smooth. But when I click in the Navigation Pane (Folder List) and try the same thing, it wants to scroll an entire page at a time. I cannot get the smooth mouse scrolling to work in this Pane!
Is it possible to have vertical auto scroll when viewing folders and files in windows Explorer, ie. click mouse wheel and then move downwards to scroll down and vice versa?Currently my WE does not allow me to select auto scroll vertically.
My system pass POST flashes the Windows scroll across the bottom and then stops loading. Waits exactly +/- 8 Min, then finishes loading. Tried everything.
