View 7 Replies View RelatedI want to make use of the gestures that windows 7 has support for, especially the two fingered ones, but I am just using a normal inbuilt touchpad on my laptop. Is it possible? The make of the trackpad isn't synaptics, it's ALPS.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an Elantech driver for my touchpad that supports multitouch. However, the functions of the gestures are not customizable. I was wondering if there is a way to customize the functions of certain gestures. For example, binding a macro like Alt+1 to 4 finger swipe left etc. That way I can bind some function to Alt+1 and execute it with 4 finger swipe.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy partner's mouse keeps disappearing when she types on her PC, almost the exact same physical and software-based machine as myself where I don't have any problemsWhen she starts typing the mouse disappears and un-clicks the program she was on, this means basically if you were to have a program open then were to click the desktop so no programs are selected, this is what happens, but automatically while typing. Also when I say it disappears and deselects I mean on literally anything; Browsers (Firefox, Opera, IE, Chrome), Microsoft Word, Spotify (search box), etc.Under (Control Panel > Mouse > Pointer Options > Visibility > Hide pointer while typing) this check box is obviously unchecked, first thing I went too and I have tried other subtle fixes but nothing seems to do anything
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn XP when I chose Folder options and then the File types tab, Folder was listed as a file type (Extension=None). I could select it, click the Advanced button and add a program to that file type. I would add the phrase CommandPrompt connected to the program cmd.exe. This then would allow me to right click on a folder and open the DOS window at that location. A big time saver for the work I do. I cannot find how to do this in Windows 7.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am considering getting rid of my CME-UF5 Midi keyboard since there is no possibility of running it under Windows 7 and purchasing something new. Although I did like the quality and weight of the keys with CME vs M-Audio, I suspect M-Audio would have much better driver support and customer support for future updates, CME was certainly lacking in this department considering they didn't even provide a Vista driver for this damn thing. I browsed through forums and it seems that someone had created their own Vista driver for it by modyfing the XP one while others claimed that due to the hardware inside this keyboard, there would be no way to run it outside of an 32bit XP environment.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a clean Vista Home Premium System and am quite happy with performance (no crashes, everything runs fine). Are there any good reasons that I should upgrade to Win 7. I have a 32-bit, so going to 64 Win 7 would mean fresh install. I don't want to do that so I would just be upgrading to Win 7 32-bit.

I have limited experience with Windows, but have looked at the event viewer.I searched other sites for solutions, but not getting anywhere.I have the following ID crit and errors: 41, 6008 & 10010.At first I tried fixing the paging requirement, as the paging was set lower than the actual amount of RAM. Now I know this isn't the safest thing, since it's on my computer where I can get a trojan and I can get every one hacked. So I wanted a place where I can store this file (maybe online storage)? So it's safe and not on my hard drive. I'm thinking Dropbox? How do I know it's safe and reliable there?

View 2 Replies View Relatedmy laptop will not load up. I can get it to the screen where it says repair computer, safe mode and all that. (advance boot options) but anytime I click any off them it goes to a screen where it says I need to put in the windows installer disk. I do not have any disk but I downloaded the repair disc from my other laptop. I put the disk in the computer and restart it and it just goes back to same screen. It does not automatic rebot, or ask me to rebot from disk.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm hoping someone can help me with a problem I have with a laptop not booting into Windows 7. The booting process hangs at the point where the mouse pointer appears, just before the welcome and logon screen. I am able to get the machine to boot by using the Last Known Good boot option, but on the next boot, it reverts back to its bad behaviour.
I can boot into safe mode. But disabling all services and startup items in msconfig does not make the problem go away. I've run a Malwarebytes scan, which detected a pup called iLivid which I removed and uninstalled. I also did a Dr. Web scan, which found and removed 1 additional problem file.
I exported the same registry control set before and after rebooting like this: I looked at HKLM/Select to find the "current" set and exported it to current.reg. Then restarted, let the boot fail, restarted using Last Known Good, then exported the "failed" set to current2.reg, which was the same set (002) as the previous "current". These files are about 15k each, so I have not pasted or attached them. I'm using Windiff to compare them, but can't find a way to export a "change" file to post here. What is interesting to me is that the failed file is smaller by 4%, so stuff has been deleted.
