Mouse Keeps Disappearing (and Deselecting) When Typing On Any Program?
Feb 26, 2012
My partner's mouse keeps disappearing when she types on her PC, almost the exact same physical and software-based machine as myself where I don't have any problemsWhen she starts typing the mouse disappears and un-clicks the program she was on, this means basically if you were to have a program open then were to click the desktop so no programs are selected, this is what happens, but automatically while typing. Also when I say it disappears and deselects I mean on literally anything; Browsers (Firefox, Opera, IE, Chrome), Microsoft Word, Spotify (search box), etc.Under (Control Panel > Mouse > Pointer Options > Visibility > Hide pointer while typing) this check box is obviously unchecked, first thing I went too and I have tried other subtle fixes but nothing seems to do anything
I am an IT tech in a school and we currently have a problem with mice pointers disappearing on the screen.connected to an interactive whiteboard (not brand specific)left until the screen goes black (10 minutes)while people are working on them (on SIMS)all said work stations are on the domain Update on mouse drivers disable screen dimming after 10 minutes (doesn't go off)updated graphics drivers enable mouse trails and set to minimum Swapping from duplicate to extended or computer only.
Mouse is still visible on the whiteboard projection, but not on the monitor in duplicate mode.It not confined to a type of machine or brand.Over the summer holidays a new image was applied, win7 32bit.
While in IE my mouse pointer will disappear. I unchecked "hide while typing" and it still disappears. I'll be reading a web page and the pointer disappears, I then have to shake the mouse so I can see where it is. Is this a new "feature" in the latest version of IE. If so, how do I turn it off?
I have experienced the cursor "shutting off" after several seconds. Typing anywhere not possible - email, word processing, etc. To reactivate, the mouse had to be left-clicked. After trying literally everything to resolve, I performed a total system restore back to when the laptop was new. Obviously, a Windows 7 update has a serious glitch. I am now getting requests to allow updates and am denying them. How do I keep updates from automatically occurring? I plan to deny updates until I can get Windows 8.
Most of the returns are for solutions for the exact opposite (cursor hidden not showing) The ones that are for my trouble send me to control panel check box that I have checked.
I am using a Logitech G500 mouse, the bloatware (SetPoint) has no cursor "hide" option. Though it does not seem to matter the driver (win 7 ultimate standard system or Logitech) I use.
Seems a trivial issue other than I have a gift for clicking the dialogue box right where I prefer to see a word that the cursor obfuscates.
I've had my Windows 7 PC for a year and a half now, and the entire time I've had it I've had Firefox pinned to the taskbar, and when I click on the icon, the program opens AND the icon stays there on the taskbar. It has been like this since I've had the computer. This is how I want it.
I don't know if it's coincidence or not, but today I updated Firefox to version 14, and now when I click the pinned taskbar icon, the program opens and the taskbar icon for Firefox disappears. I know you can set up a quicklaunch workaround (I've done that, but I'm just not satisfied), I know you can click this and that to get a new window to open, but all I want is my computer back the way it has been for the last 18 months.
I can get the functionality that I had back. I've read in certain threads that Windows 7 is designed for them to disappear when opened. It was never this way on my PC and I just want my setup back how I had it. I tried rolling back to FF 13 to no avail.
When I open a program that has been pinned to the taskbar, the icon for that program disappears immediately. I understand that this is a feature of Windows 7, but my girlfriend finds it rather annoying. Is there any way to stop this behavior? By the way, I am using the "Never Combine" option for my taskbar.
For example, the first icon pinned in the taskbar is Mozilla Firefox. When I open Firefox, the icon disappears, and only the other pinned icons remain. I would like to change this behavior so that the icon, once pinned, will remain, even if I open the program associated with it.
A while after my new build I noticed that while I type, the active windows will randomly deselect (fade to white). I then have to reselect it again. I've scanned the computer with no results of viruses, deselected "report problems".
every mouse drag event will make the app is running crash. (For example: when you IE, I select a line of text, or some time I click the mouse and drag). Everything just can fix when I restart, and I will meet again at some time?
In XP when I chose Folder options and then the File types tab, Folder was listed as a file type (Extension=None). I could select it, click the Advanced button and add a program to that file type. I would add the phrase CommandPrompt connected to the program cmd.exe. This then would allow me to right click on a folder and open the DOS window at that location. A big time saver for the work I do. I cannot find how to do this in Windows 7.
Has anyone experienced the syndrome of files and or complete installed programs simply disappearing after a reboot. I have had many instances of that occuring and when I reinstall the missing program, it picks up all the data that was created ( database files, confg, serial, etc) . I see lots of items in GOOGLE,<DISAPEARING FILES IN WINDOWS 7> but surprisingly , none here on Windows 7 Forum.
I was running Windows Vista 32bit on my Dell Inspiron 1545. I then decided to install Windows 7. I installed the 64bit version. Everything seemed ok apart from my CD/ROM drive. It works now and again but will suddenly disappear. I have seen people saying clean it but I dont think this is necessary as it worked a treat on Windows Vista. I tried to burn a disc in Windows Media Player but it says "connect a burner & restart the player". I have tried deleting the filters in the regedit. I have this morning re-installed Windows 7 but instead installed the 32bit version
My computer qwill freeze for a few seconds followed by system lag which seems to get worse (freezing every few seconds/taking 2 seconds to recognise a click etc.). If i reset my computer it resolves the issue but i was hoping you guys may be able to give me more insight as to what the issue may be.It nearly always happens when i am browsing in firefox. Have never had it happen to me during gaming etc. which is why i'm hesitant to believe it is to do with my GPU or it's drivers which are always kept up to date.i have included pics of the cursor and what processes were running at the time of the freeze/lag
Frequently--and growing more frequent--I get a lag in typing in Windows 7 for any application involving typing (browsers, Office, email....anything). At first nothing happens, and then everything I tried to type shows up several seconds later, sometimes as long as 20 or 30 seconds later, though usually with the first few letters missing.
Lately I have been having an annoying problem with my wireless mouse. For some reason the pointer will lag, and be very sluggish and jumpy. I've had this mouse on this computer for about a year and I've had no problem. Out of nowhere this problem is happening. I've tried re installing drivers with no luck. I tried uninstalling intellipoint and re-installing it, but when I tried I got the BSOD, and then it completely disabled my mouse and keyboard so I had to use wired peripherals to go in to safe mode and do a system restore. Now everything is working again, except my mouse is still jumpy.
i'm trying to order something from a website and the cursor want open my cart for me to look at it and finish my order. this is happening in several sites not just one.
I'm having trouble with my start menu retaining Pinned items. They Pin/Unpin fine but disappear after restart or shut down. I'm getting nothing to identify what the problem might be
Shortly after a program icon (some, but not all) is placed on my desktop, the face of it disappears and I'm left with a generic Windows icon. It still functions, but there is no face to show what it is.It appears to be a problem on my system install disk, since formatting makes no difference. In fact, I just clean formatted an hour ago and the first program I downloaded was Firefox, and the Firefox desktop icon is already missing its normal appearance.
I have recently downloaded 'paint.net' to windows 7 and the icon keeps disappearing. Not necesarily on a restart but just over night or during the day at random. The program is still listed and works and it is on my start menu when I click on the windows icon in the bottom left corner. I have tried refreshing and still can't keep the shortcut on the desktop.
I have several users running Windows 7 enterprise, and every so often their desktop icons disappear, that is the icons they have created (shortcuts, and various MS office files) I have googled this, but the solutions offered never seem to work. They only solution I have found is to disable the UAC, but that is not really a good solution in my opinion. I am running Windows 7 professional and I have some strange happenings as well, although I have never experienced the disappearing icon issue. My issue is mostly with Adobe acrobat. I have acrobat 7.0 professional, updated as far as I can without purchasing a newer verion, and I'll be in the middle of viewing a pdf and I'll get a message that my configuration has changed and I need to re-activate my copy.
I was wondering if any tells solution to dissappearing threads/ half composed emails, in relation to a connection dropout? This has happened to me here a few times and also at another forum I am a member of. Usually with email the half composed mail will be sent to draughts in various emailing facilities, however I was wondering if anyone knows of any third party software or other solution which may be appropriate in alleviating this problem.
