I recently got a new computer at work with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010. I'm having issues in both Excel and Outlook when I try to drag and drop an item, instead of just dropping when I take my finger off of the mouse button, I'm having to click a second time on the mouse to get it to drop the item. While Civ V could play for a while or crash instantly depending on what I select. I checked the Event logs for these crashes to get these[CODE]Now I've run some tests on my memory and it seems everything is physically.I ran some registry fixes that claimed to fix things, but didn't resolve anything. I uninstalled and re-installed the video driver.I've tried uninstalling and then re installing the games themselves. View 9 Replies View Relatedi was playing f1 2011 and then it suddenly froze. i had to press alt+f4 to close the game. looked at the event viewer and there was event id 1000. then i again started the game. it again froze after some time. the same error message. today i have been playing since morning and everything is working fine.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've got a new PC, Windows 7 Home Premium x64. I have installed Adobe CS6 on it. Illustrator crashes at least once/day, and Microsoft Outlook 2003 crashes a few times/week also. Both list Event ID 1000.I have uninstalled and re-installed both with no luck. There is seemingly no pattern to the crashes, sometimes occur while printing, saving, importing objects and sometimes while that program is sitting in the background.

I was watching a video once with headphones on and heard a loud noise then freeze.I at first thought it was just one of my hard drives dying because I had similar symptoms before I removed it. But, the fact that the crashes are happening more frequently without accessing the questionable e: has me stumped.Then I figured maybe it was the overclock I did in my bios. But, restoring it to normal has had little effect on the performance of my machine.I have run and run on an almost daily basis the following: All updated daily or when available.

Tonight while on my PC using Facebook, I got an unexpected graphics card crash. My computer stopped and I had to turn it off via the shutdown button on the case. When I restarted my computer it was slow and a bit sluggish. When I started it up I had a strange occurrence where my mouse and keyboard stopped working, the mouse has a blue light on the scroll button but I was unable to move the pointer. My keyboard was completely disconnected with no functionality at all. Even when I changed it to a different USB slot it was not working/ Again, I had to turn it off via the shutdown button.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and I'm confronting a quite annoying problem while trying to use the Japanese input.This is what happens, I switch on the Japanese input from the language bar, then I select the hiragana alphabet. It seems to be working properly if I use only hiragana pressing Enter after each word. But if I try to use kanji, after pressing Space, when I try to select the one I need from the scroll menu that shows up, the program I am working in freezes saying it's not responding. The program can be closed at the 3rd click showing that window with "Check for a solution and close the program/Close the program/Wait for the program to respond" and at the details it has a "Problem Event Name AppHangB1".This happened to me while working in Microsoft Office, Mozilla Firefox, and even in Notepad or Yahoo messenger. Though, it seems to be ok in Internet Explorer.I tried to reinstall the the Japanese language, but nothing changed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOccasionally when a program crashes the last sound playing, whether it be part of a sound effect in a game, a small part of a film from a media player, or even a standard windows sound effect, will recur endlessly after the program has been closed until the computer is restarted. The sound is not displayed on the windows mixer, although it displays clearly on my dedicated sound card's audio levels display.
I have tried disabling and re-enabling the relevant sound devices, switching between onboard audio and dedicated audio, and attempting to restart the windows sound services, however I have found nothing aside from a restart that will actually rid me of the recurring sound (things such as entering/exiting sleep mode do not help, I have not tried to hibernate the computer, but if I'm going to do that I might aswell just restart properly).
I've been working for the past week to try and figure this out :*( please help me out, don't ask about the name, couldn't get it to take any normal names at the time.
I don't know exactly what is happening with my computer but since the guild wars 2 beta weekend my computer would freeze make a very loud scratching sort of sound than the client would crash. At first I figured ok its just beta something isn't happy with my system, I figured it was just that cross fire wasn't optimized for the beta and that my 5970 had some cross fire structure to it with the dual gpu. Than while playing Sniper Elite v2 it happened again, not to the full extent of the loud noise but still there was scratching. After each time the games would crash all my other programs would crash as well, and when they did work they would be screwed up. I would try playing music and it would sort of work than have the static or scratching sound again, occasionally a beeping sound.
I have my audio drivers up to date and I have tested it out threw my screen speakers and my razer megalodon usb head phones. I have checked for a new mobo bios and haven't found anything new for it, I than checked to update my graphic drivers and brought them up to 12.4. I don't run anything but the drivers due to it making my system very unstable. I than did a complete wipe, did 8 passes over both my base hard drive and my 1 tb hard drive. Fully updated windows and my drivers again and I am still experiencing the same problems. I have my video card over clocked to 900 core clock and 1200 memory at 1.137 volts, its stable as can be. I also have my cpu over clocked to 3.7 ghz but I have never had a issue with it either, they both have been at these speeds for the past 2 years. The temps are all with in more than safe temps and I have just recently cleaned the entire computer.
Just finished doing memtext86+ for 5 passes and came up with 0 errors, I have also checked inside my event viewer logs for any critical events and can't find any.My system specs according to speccy:

Basically my laptop has been having very high temperatures for a long time (usually ~60C for CPU and often 100-110 for GPU...insanely high, in other words) For example, see how hot the machine gets just by resuming from a sleep (this is all within a minute or so):I have been seeing the following error in event viewer each time I start Windows (4 entries) for some time:So today I bit the bullet and had the back cover off the laptop and noticed what a bad state the thermal compound was in, for both the CPU and the chipset chip, so wiped it off using TIM Cleaner, and then applied new thermal compound and put the laptop back together. I was actually shocked because for the first time since I can remember, I could feel cold air blowing from the vents of my laptop! I logged into Windows and noticed that my temperatures had fallen and were staying at around the below:Not as low as I'd like but a massive improvement. Trouble is, I am still getting the WHEA-Logger event errors in Windows Event Viewer ('processor core') and wondered if this was not in regards to overheating after all?The plus side is my laptop is now almost totally silent - the way it must have been when I bought it new 3 years ago! But I was wondering how to investigate these WHEA-Logger errors?PS - I think I accidentally got some TIM Cleaner spilt on the carpet. Clean install from Microsoft image and valid key from Microsoft.
Problem:
Computer rarely restarts during the time I am using it. It restarts if I leave stuff downloading overnight or if I leave on during the day. I then have to re-install any software I installed the previous time because it says it was shutdown improperly ( CRASHED).
I then check the Event logger and see it has multiple crash reports.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn XP when I chose Folder options and then the File types tab, Folder was listed as a file type (Extension=None). I could select it, click the Advanced button and add a program to that file type. I would add the phrase CommandPrompt connected to the program cmd.exe. This then would allow me to right click on a folder and open the DOS window at that location. A big time saver for the work I do. I cannot find how to do this in Windows 7.

I am trying to repair a 1.5 year-old HP Pavilion running Windows 7 Home Premium 64. This machine is used as the main office computer in a small doctor's office. In spite of my warnings, anti-virus software was not installed until it was too lateThere was a major issue about seven months ago that required another company to repairThe problem is explorer.exe will not run. Double-clicking a shortcut on the desktop, clicking the text name of a program from the Start menu, and even in the cmd results in the same response, a dialog box pops up stating windows explorer has stopped working.
windows is checking for a solution to the problem. followed by another box stating windows explorer is restarting. But the requested application never starts. I have run the Ultimate Boot CD 4 Win, replaced the hard drive and cloned all data, run numerous registry scans, malware scans and antivirus scans. Initially removing over 1500 virus/malware hits and over 1400 registry errors. But the main problem persists, explorer.exe won't open programs.
Just installed Windows 7 fresh on a new intel 320m 160gb. After i type in my password at the login screen windows hangs for about 15 - 20 seconds on welcome with the moving circle. Total boot time is about 40 - 50 seconds. I've checked the event log and an event 100 and event 200 show up at every boot and shut down but it does not tell me what process is causing this. I've tried a clean re install of windows 7 with a non sp1 and an sp1 disk and get the same results. I used windows boot or starup repair and it said something about an audio device? So i unplugged my Asus xonar but im still getting the same hang time on welcome. So far nothing is plugged in the computer except for mouse keyboard monitor and ethernet cable.
