Most often, although it is intermittent, I have to click twice to get the cursor to drag a scroll bar or activate a button. This is a new problem and is an issue when surfing the web and in Windows Live Mail and other programs.
I recently got a new computer at work with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010. I'm having issues in both Excel and Outlook when I try to drag and drop an item, instead of just dropping when I take my finger off of the mouse button, I'm having to click a second time on the mouse to get it to drop the item. I have googled this problem and tried multiple things to trouble shoot without success. It is driving me crazy!I have downloaded new mouse softwareTried another mouseUndocked and tried with touchpadrebootedChecked settings in Excel and drag and drop is enabled.
My desktop click-and-drag selecter has turned invisible with black and white borders, it used to be blue. I know this isn't a major issue but i would like to get it fixed. It occurred after running a maintenance with IObit's Advanced System Care which removed junk files, broken shortcuts, etc. How do I get it back to normal?
On only one of my websites, I am unable to log off or close the window. This happend to me last week on another website. How can I fix this problem. Instead of showing my normal mark it shows as a + mark
I've had this problem with my mouse since I upgraded to windows 7. Whenever I'm playing a game, or anything fullscreen and I right click or click the middle mouse button, the cursor jumps across my screen, sometimes down or to the left. and sometimes, both.
I can still hear the sound (I was listening to music on iTunes the first time and the second time I was watching a movie on VLC) ctrl+alt+del works, (when I choose cancel, the screen goes blank) I can log off and everything's fine when I log back in. This happened twice within past two hours... when I was listening to music and watching movie in the background... and it happened when I was typing details of a mp3 file's properties...
I have experienced the cursor "shutting off" after several seconds. Typing anywhere not possible - email, word processing, etc. To reactivate, the mouse had to be left-clicked. After trying literally everything to resolve, I performed a total system restore back to when the laptop was new. Obviously, a Windows 7 update has a serious glitch. I am now getting requests to allow updates and am denying them. How do I keep updates from automatically occurring? I plan to deny updates until I can get Windows 8.
How do I get emails to single click to select and double click to open? All appropriate boxes in folder for this sequence are checked to no avail. Toshiba L745-S4310
WLM opens emails with a single click rather than just selecting the email. The boxes selecting double click to open are checked. This box is in the folders section and may be for folders ouyside of WLM. I want single click to select and double click to open emails.
for the last few weeks whenever i left click on the desktop it brings the right click menu. this dosen't happen in the browser (firefox), but only in the windows desktop and start menu. however i the browser if i am on a web player like Internet, the portion that displays the video fails to display my cursor. as a result i am not able to control the video settings in the browser.
Windows 7 synaptics left click acts like right click after reboot and the right click doesn't work at all. I've downloaded the most recent driver & searched for a solution online but haven't found anyone who has fixed this issue. Did everyone just give up or am I not patient enough & haven't dug deep enough. If I use a USB mouse there are no problems it just seems to be with the built-in after I've used the USB mouse.
I have Folder Options "Double-click to open an item (single-click to select)" is engaged but Start menu All Programs list is failing to accord - selecting on hover and opening on single click.
I'm trying to fix my friends computer and I'm having some issues. There was a nasty virus on it that I managed to get rid of, but now programs won't run unless I first right click and click "Run as Administrator". Shortcuts also won't work (I assume for the same reason.) Does anyone know of a fix for this so we don't have to constantly click "Run as Administrator"? By the way, there is only one user on the computer and it is an administrator.
several sites i TRY and visit, have drag and drop captchas. I used to be able to move the desired item, but for several weeks now, I can get em to drag, so I can't get into the web site.
I turned off the feature that maximize windows when I tried to drag 'em off screen. But now I can only drag windows off screen from the side, not the top... Why is that?
When I try to drag and drop to my desktop, it's says "save to desktop" but it doesn't. I also can't close firefox using the "x". I'd have to right click and close. Also, when I'm in excel, it highlights all the cells I hover over. Tried the following:
restarting esc and ctrl keys are not stuck clicklock is not checked in control panel no vmware installed dropbox, evernote but uninstalled it just in case
I was unable to move files around in Windows by dragging and dropping. I am fully capable of dragging the files, but as soon as I drop them, they just go right back to where they were. No moving, no copying, no error message, just a lack of anything past me dragging an icon and it resuming its original position.
Has anyone had any recent issues with Drop and Drag. I cannot drag anything anymore and was thinking it was due to a system update or something like that. I dont think it has anything to do with my laptop.
I am trying to drag and drop files into programs and it wont let me. I tryed re installing W7 but it didnt fix the problem. I dont know what to do it worked fine on my old computer.
I have a Dell Studio laptop which has 4GB ram and a core 2 duo processor with a Windows 7 OS.. The problem with this laptop is that, I am not able to drag and drop icons on the desktop nor in the folders... Drag and Drop never functions.. I feel convinient using Drag and drop and now this is a big nuisance for me as I am not able to freely move my desktop icons nor drag and drop the files into folders as and when required.. I also unchecked the auto arrange Desktop in the context menu.. I tried in Safe Mode.. I used a bunch of Registry cleaners, C Cleaners and what not everything.. But I am not able to solve this problem.. Can you please let me know how I should solve this problem...
Also I also have another problem during the Startup of my computer.Once I start my computer and once all Icons and taskbar come, I try to open any application or any program like IE or Firefox and when I open it, the windows freezes and says not responding.I try opening "Task Manager " from the Task Bar and and even right click does'nt function.I feel as if everything freezes up and so I need to hit "Alt+Ctlrl+Del" for opening Taskmanager.. This sounds very wierd for me as I have to do this same operation every time..My configuration is above mentioned and I also share this little info with you.My hard Disk memory usage is about 268Gb of 280Gb with a single partiotion.
So i've come across an interesting "issue" recently. Here at work we are beta testing our Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit. There's something that is very quirky about the way items are dragged onto a script files.
Some background into the issue. We use a custom script to submit data in the form of an excel sheet into a database. The script is a .hta file. Under Windows XP and Windows 7 32bit, we were able to just drag and drop the excel file onto the .hta, and it would run the .hta script and format/submit the excel file to our database. Under Windows 7 64bit, when you drag it over the .hta file, it just gives you a red x, and won't allow you to drop it.
Anybody knows if there's a security setting, or an option/registry setting to regain this functionality?
