Burn An *.avi File Onto A Dvd Disk To Play On The TV?
Apr 8, 2011
I am trying to burn an *.avi file onto a dvd disk to play on the TV. I am using Windows DVD Maker and when I add the avi file then press Burn, it reports that a dvd burner can not be found. Yet there is a dvd burner on my computer loaded with a blank dvd.
I can burn a normal audio cd, yet i can not get it to burn mp3's (data cd, also says for mp3's in software) i have tried a few burning programs and always get the same result. so i figure its a windows 7 issue.
I used to be able to burn them. Not sure where to start.
Sony Vaio VGN-NS230E.

I ran the Microsoft FixIt application but it did not resolve the problem. Fresh install of windows 7. Brand new cdr's. Also, when I insert a blank CD, it doesn't show up in My Computer, however if I insert a CD with data on it(or music), it shows up. Also should point out I have VirtualCloneDrive installed.
I have a lot of photos on my hard drive. I would like to burn a DVD with these photos and use that DVD in a Sony DVD player hooked up to my TV. What are the steps I take to burn the DVD? So far I seem to be getting DVDs which will show up on my other computers but not be DVD player.
i have windows 7 home premium,4gb ram, comletely updated. i am using windows media player to burn music to a cd-r disk which i have always done in the past.only difference is now im using a 52x instead of a 40x.i dont know if this is the problem or not.all the songs im burning are in mp3 format. when i burn all the songs to a 52x cd-r ,the first 10 or so songs play fine when i play then in my truck in my cd player.after that,it takes multiple passes of the cd player to find each individual song after that.it makes a skipping sound as though its searching for it or it cant find it or read the disk.at times it will even eject the cd and say there was an error reading the disk.i tried different setting through windows media player, including dropping it down to a 20x,slowing it down, using wav format..etc.still nothing.when using the 40x cd-r,it will play almost every song in my truck without hesitation, except for the last one or 2 songs.the songs all play fine through my media player after they are burned, however, once i put the cd-r in my drive,i go to C: and look at my drive where the cd-r is located, its showing that there is nothing on it,that there is 0 used on disk.if i double click the drive,it gives me this error....this file does not have an program associated with it for performing this action.please install a program or,if one is allready installed, create an association in the default programs in control panel.basically i cant open the file by double clicking on the drive, but if i right click my drive and click "open"..it opens..lol..so confusing.never had that problem.will even open in any player i want, funny thing is it show nothing on disk when i look at my drive.all i really care about is why i cant burn these correctly to cd,and that it only burns thah first 10 and and the player has a hard time burning the rest?
I have a trail copy of windows 7 ultimate 32 bit with a keygen to make it into a licened version. thing is the disk does not have any updates on it. normally i can live without them, but it doesnt even have the most basic things like realtek hd audio driver or even my video card driver. windows update will automatically install everything i need as soon as i connect to the internet, but i do not always have internet handy. my question is would there be any way i can burn my updates to a disk instead of just installing them so i can have them for later? i dont need this to work on all computers cause im aware that different computers require different drivers. i only need my own computer updates.
I accidentally recently over wrote my windows C: hard drive by trying to dual install linux on my laptop. I downloaded and burned a windows 7 64 bit repair disk but I have no point to repair it from! So I think I need a clean installation, is there anyway I can also burn an installation disk.
I have an .iso and a notepad instruction. I'd like to make an .iso a bootable disk. How can I burn the .iso (bootable) and the notepad instruction in one disk. What burning software do I have to use?
Yes, I STILL need to burn to a regular CD as CDA is all that will play in my car. I have an audiobook in one large file & have tried breaking it down into several smaller files for burning. The first file burns just fine, but all subsequent files fail as it claims they're too long for the cd, even tho the size is a miniscule CDA. Older versions of windows used to prompt you for subsequent discs but I can't get any program (Roxio, Ashampoo, Cyberlink) to do so--they all return too large for disc.
I have a video that I can put on U-Tube for friends to view, but can't seem to burn a DVD from it. What is the "magic" software (needed or included in Windows 7) to do this, and what steps are needed?
Every time when i put CD or DVD in to my PC DVD ROM it shows this kind of ("desktop.ini") file to waiting for burn. But that CD or DVD already burned. Why is that. That ""desktop.ini" file contain this kind of words.
I looked through the list of software for Win 7, and couldn't find what I need. I have a file, 804 Meg, and I want to split it so I can burn it on 2 CDs. how to accomplish that. I Googled it, there were a few ways, that seemed to very confusing or expensive like the DVDfab route.
I've installed windows server and Virtual PC Console to setup a new Virtual Machine. I can setup the machine but not run it because I don't have an ISO File. When Im gonna start my VM I get a messages that says; Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device. I have no Idea how to create an ISO file so this will work, never done it and when I use google to try to find ISO file that I can download I don't find a website that can take a nob like me through this.Bootable ISO - Create from Installation Files; Is there any way to make an ISO file that I dont have to burn or use USB?? I just want to have it on my desktop if possible.
My company recently made Office 2013 Pro Plus available to its employees through the Home Use Program --so I went on line and purchased a license. When I did this for Office 2010 and got the email from MS, their link was to a download of an ISO file from which I was then able to burn a DVD.
But this time, the download is an executable and the name (Setup.x86.en-US_ProPlusRetail_[product key]_act_1.exe) implies that it is an installer. I really don't want to install it right now; instead, I want to download it and burn a DVD -- and install it later. What the installer program actually does?
Today, i was trying to burn an ISO today when i got this message."The image didnt burn burn because an error occurred. The drive reported that it is performing a long-running operation, such as finishing a write. the drive may be unusable for a long period of time. (Error code: 0xC0AA0207)"Haven't started a write since my computer turned on.

The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."Plus, I also get a similar error msg with WMC.However if I select VLC to play the video, it plays just fine. I deleted a video that I recorded using my webcam. It was a .wmv file. I then downloaded a program to recover it to my computer as it was deleted in my recycle bin. I was able to recover it but now I cannot open it or play it. I have tried programs that fix .wmv files and different recover programs and I have even tried recovering tthe file to a different drive.
