Burn Windows Updates To A Disk?
Mar 25, 2012
I have a trail copy of windows 7 ultimate 32 bit with a keygen to make it into a licened version. thing is the disk does not have any updates on it. normally i can live without them, but it doesnt even have the most basic things like realtek hd audio driver or even my video card driver. windows update will automatically install everything i need as soon as i connect to the internet, but i do not always have internet handy. my question is would there be any way i can burn my updates to a disk instead of just installing them so i can have them for later? i dont need this to work on all computers cause im aware that different computers require different drivers. i only need my own computer updates.

i have windows 7 home premium,4gb ram, comletely updated. i am using windows media player to burn music to a cd-r disk which i have always done in the past.only difference is now im using a 52x instead of a 40x.i dont know if this is the problem or not.all the songs im burning are in mp3 format. when i burn all the songs to a 52x cd-r ,the first 10 or so songs play fine when i play then in my truck in my cd player.after that,it takes multiple passes of the cd player to find each individual song after that.it makes a skipping sound as though its searching for it or it cant find it or read the disk.at times it will even eject the cd and say there was an error reading the disk.i tried different setting through windows media player, including dropping it down to a 20x,slowing it down, using wav format..etc.still nothing.when using the 40x cd-r,it will play almost every song in my truck without hesitation, except for the last one or 2 songs.the songs all play fine through my media player after they are burned, however, once i put the cd-r in my drive,i go to C: and look at my drive where the cd-r is located, its showing that there is nothing on it,that there is 0 used on disk.if i double click the drive,it gives me this error....this file does not have an program associated with it for performing this action.please install a program or,if one is allready installed, create an association in the default programs in control panel.basically i cant open the file by double clicking on the drive, but if i right click my drive and click "open"..it opens..lol..so confusing.never had that problem.will even open in any player i want, funny thing is it show nothing on disk when i look at my drive.all i really care about is why i cant burn these correctly to cd,and that it only burns thah first 10 and and the player has a hard time burning the rest?

Just got a brand new Samsung Series 7 laptop and everything was working fine until i started installing windows updates. The cpu is now stuck at around 15% load and there's constant disk activity too. I run msconfig.exe and disabled programs that I don't really use much, run disk defrag just too make sure the disk was working well. As a result my cpu is running hot (65 degrees) and the battery drains pretty quick.

For the past day windows wants to install the same 4 updates over and over, I have windows update set to download and let me choose when to install.
I can't understand why I even need them, as I uninstalled net framework. Notice how the update at 8:17 AM., KB2656368, is the same as one of the 4 updates installed at 7:47 PM. Windows wants to install the same four kb files again. How do I stop this?
Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB2656368)
Installation date: 6/15/2012 7:47 PM
Installation status: Successful

For a while now I have been experiencing a strange problem. My laptop keeps changing the Windows Updates without my consent. I know this has been raised in the past but my problem is slightly different.I prefer to choose "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download or install them", however periodically the settings change without my consent to "Never check for updates".This is very frustrating as I am constantly having to keep an eye on this, and change the settings back to what they were in order to receive critical updates, or indeed any other update. The laptop was bought new just under 12 months ago and came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit pre-installed.Has anyone else experienced this, or can anyone advise on a fix?

New HP Laptop with Windows 7 - Windows Backup software doesn't recognise DVD as writeable, but Windows7 Explorer writes just fine to the same DVD-R.If I do Control Panel>System and security>Backup and Restore click on Backup Now ....this gives "Backup in progress..." bar - gets to about 25% and stops with the message "Insert Removeable media "Windows backup needs a CDDVD or USB drive to continue" (even though there is a DVD-R in E:, to which I have just successfully burned a very small test file using Explorer. E: shows on Backup pane as being selected as destination drive). If I click on "More information" another dialogue box pops up with instructions to "Label and insert a blank media"Please write the following label on a blank media and insert it into E:"FREDDY 02/01/2011"even though there is a labelled disc in there.(Of course that's a bum instruction from Windows anyway - it won't accept forward slashes - but that's OK - I label it without those. Still doesn't work.)If on the other hand I just select a file in Explorer and burn it ends up on the DVD no problem. With that same successfully burned DVD - Backup will still not recognise the DVD-R.I can use a DVD-R with a small test file burned OK to it, or a virgin disc from the box - makes no difference......

Is it safe to burn a Windows 7 installation ISO image using the 'exact copy' option, meaning making an exact duplicate from an already existing CD. Or is it safer to burn a CD from the original ISO file? Wouldn't the 'exact copy' option have higher chances for data corruption, especially since it is a boot/installation CD?
