I looked through the list of software for Win 7, and couldn't find what I need. I have a file, 804 Meg, and I want to split it so I can burn it on 2 CDs. how to accomplish that. I Googled it, there were a few ways, that seemed to very confusing or expensive like the DVDfab route.
Is there an easy to "split" a 40 Gb user file area into ten 4 Gb "chunks", for the purpose of backing up onto ten DVDs? In other words, is there an easy way to copy a 40 Gb file area onto ten DVDs? Operating System is Windows 7 Enterprise (64 bit).
Yes, I STILL need to burn to a regular CD as CDA is all that will play in my car. I have an audiobook in one large file & have tried breaking it down into several smaller files for burning. The first file burns just fine, but all subsequent files fail as it claims they're too long for the cd, even tho the size is a miniscule CDA. Older versions of windows used to prompt you for subsequent discs but I can't get any program (Roxio, Ashampoo, Cyberlink) to do so--they all return too large for disc.
I have a video that I can put on U-Tube for friends to view, but can't seem to burn a DVD from it. What is the "magic" software (needed or included in Windows 7) to do this, and what steps are needed?
Every time when i put CD or DVD in to my PC DVD ROM it shows this kind of ("desktop.ini") file to waiting for burn. But that CD or DVD already burned. Why is that. That ""desktop.ini" file contain this kind of words.
I've installed windows server and Virtual PC Console to setup a new Virtual Machine. I can setup the machine but not run it because I don't have an ISO File. When Im gonna start my VM I get a messages that says; Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device. I have no Idea how to create an ISO file so this will work, never done it and when I use google to try to find ISO file that I can download I don't find a website that can take a nob like me through this.Bootable ISO - Create from Installation Files; Is there any way to make an ISO file that I dont have to burn or use USB?? I am trying to burn an *.avi file onto a dvd disk to play on the TV. I am using Windows DVD Maker and when I add the avi file then press Burn, it reports that a dvd burner can not be found. Yet there is a dvd burner on my computer loaded with a blank dvd.
My company recently made Office 2013 Pro Plus available to its employees through the Home Use Program --so I went on line and purchased a license. When I did this for Office 2010 and got the email from MS, their link was to a download of an ISO file from which I was then able to burn a DVD.
But this time, the download is an executable and the name (Setup.x86.en-US_ProPlusRetail_[product key]_act_1.exe) implies that it is an installer. I really don't want to install it right now; instead, I want to download it and burn a DVD -- and install it later. What the installer program actually does?
Today, i was trying to burn an ISO today when i got this message."The image didnt burn burn because an error occurred. The drive reported that it is performing a long-running operation, such as finishing a write. the drive may be unusable for a long period of time. (Error code: 0xC0AA0207)"Haven't started a write since my computer turned on.
I can burn a normal audio cd, yet i can not get it to burn mp3's (data cd, also says for mp3's in software) i have tried a few burning programs and always get the same result. so i figure its a windows 7 issue.

Last week I downloaded a Custom POI .csv file for my Garmin Nuvi. It is a combined file that contains all Walmart, Samsclubs in the US. The file also included two .bmp icons, one for Walmart and one for the Samsclub. I renamed the Walmart .bmp icon to the exact file name of the Walmart.csv file so it is displayed on my map screen. Tried renaming the Samsclub icon with the same filename as the Walmart one but got an error. One user suggested that I split the main spreadsheet into two seperate files with all of the SamsClubs locations to a new worksheet in order to see the SamsClub icon.Since I am a novice user of Excel, how do I get all of the SamsClub entries on the main worksheet to a new worksheet?

I'm using Samsung laptop with TSSTcorp CD/DVD TS-L633J recorder. Windows 7 x86_64. Can any tell me what are the possible problems (and solutions) of my CD/DVD burner? I bought this new laptop from Dubai, so even if I do have warranty, I can't use it here in my country Philippines, since warranty is exclusively for Dubai only. My CD/DVD drive can easily play DVDs (even the blank one) without any hassle. Unfornately, it can't read blank CDs unless there are already files burned in it. It can reformat CD-RW, but once the CD became blank, it can't read it anymore. Same thing happens to when I try to burn files on a DVD. It appears that it is burning, but when it finishes, it suddenly gets an unexpected error. I tried all types of disk like DVD+R, DVD-R, CD-R and CD-RW, but it allends the same. My CD/DVD burner cannot burn disks. I already uninstalled the drive, but it's all the same. I run "Fix it", but it gets an unexpected error and won't scan the drive.
I am not new to IT, but i absolutely confused now. I have downloaded the win 32 upgrade pack (the student offer) and it appear to be an exe file. How can i burn it on the dvd and make it bootable?
I have burned CD's and DVDs before no problem. Now I get a window 'Error - there was a problem burning this disc' after maybe 2 minutes of building the image file. Using the built in burn appl in 7 Pro. DVD +R disc is fine, doesn't begin to even burn. Can't be hardware because it's worked fine before. Can't be intermittent as I haven't removed/touched any internals. Tried making the pagefile larger, to match ram of 2GB ( min 2048, max 4000). Same. Lots of room on the hard drive. Can't believe it would be because data is 3.64 GB because 7 should just use the hard drive if it runs out of ram.
my CD drive will not burn any CD, it reads them ok when i put in an audio cd or a driver CD but everytime i try to burn something it fails. Is is very loud when tryin to do this and seems to be reving up and stoppin before it spits out the CD. I have tried burning with Nero, what i always use and also tried WMP and got the same result. Could the disk drive be broke?? is there a command i can run in cmd maybe like chkdsk to check it??
I have been trying to make my USB drive bootable with this ISO with several programs for quite awhilenow. method that i can use to make this NON iso image bootable? Or atleast figure out what kinda of boot file its using (such as linux, windows, etc) so i can configure the best program i've found so far? Its called YUMI - Multiboot USB Creator. It has the ability to be able to boot several types of ISO images ranging from Linux Ubuntu, Windows, Hirens Boot CD, to HP Automatic Firmware update, even Acronis! and more.plus its free! how to figure out which type of boot to choose by browsing contents after mounting the image and then configure this program with the proper settings. I did find something that said Windows, but its a folder. Not only that but as I've said I've tried several different USB to DVD tools, all of them windows and none of them worked.
I've not needed to burn a dvd or cd on my laptop since I've had it (got a desktop and use that mostly) ... but I went to burn a file onto a cd-rw disc tonight and I keep getting the message that the disc is either write protected or that there is no disk in the drive.I've tried checking for updates to the driver, but there isn't any and I have the most up-to-date driver.I've tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it - still nothing. And I've also tried removing the drive through device manager, and reinstalling it and yet still nothing.I've searched around on the net for solutions and on here but can't find anything so
I used to be able to burn them. Not sure where to start.

I ran the Microsoft FixIt application but it did not resolve the problem. Fresh install of windows 7. Brand new cdr's. Also, when I insert a blank CD, it doesn't show up in My Computer, however if I insert a CD with data on it(or music), it shows up. Also should point out I have VirtualCloneDrive installed.
