Windows installation cannot proceed. To install windows, click ok to restart the computer, and then restart the installation. I have contacted acer they tried to help with the ALT and F12. Nothing I have tried works.. They told me to order the recovery discs for $20.00. I did , and they dont work either... I contacted them back, and now they say to send it back to them and for $199.00 plus shipping, they will repair the computer..I do not have the money for that..I have the the system disc, the 3 recovery disc and the language disc , that I just ordered from Acer for $20.00.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there a repair with these disks? I am getting a BOOTMGR missing but I checked the hard drive and it is fine. I do not want to lose anything because I have a lot on it.I cloned my image about 5 days ago and I may go that route, however, I have done things since then and don't want to lose the data. Before I load the HP Recovery disks (4 of them, and I had to order them for free except pay for shipping), is there a repair option?

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy rather new Acer Predator G has been acting up lately. I tried a restore point but this doesn't seem to help. As a last resort I was going to format the disk and re-install 7, however Acer never sent me recovery disks and I don't have 7 disks (Came pre-loaded). So my question is, if I can find someone with windows 7 disks can I use them + The CD key that's on the label of my desktop? Or do I need specific ones? Acer will send me recovery disks for 20$ but If I can pull this off for cheaper, I'd like to.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a 2 year old Gateway laptop (NV5929u) i5 430M w/ 4GB. It came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit installed. The computer crashed with a blue screen a few months ago, and I could not locate the recovery disks, so I ordered a set from Gateway (1 System disk, 2 Recovery disks, 1 Language disk). My attempts at recovery were unsuccessful and I got the msg: failure disk 0 partition 3. I replaced the HD with a brand new one yesterday. My attempts at recovery went a bit further, to the point that the computer loads the information on the various disks, but when it tries to restart.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHaving crashed my wife's dual-boot system, and the HP recovery section is no longer available. We have got it back up using the hp windows 7 update disk from hp. (had vista). What I need to know is best way to back up our data before I crash something again. Will windows 7 help me build "recovery" disks that also back up our personal data... or should I back up our personal data another way? We have no Windows 7 installation disk - just the upgrade disk from HP (Vista to Windows 7). Reason for asking: I have 2 corrupted partitions in linux that I need to reformat and I want our data backed up before I start.

I tried to restore Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit on a new 700GB hard drive on my ACER Inspire X3950 by using the 3 recovery DVD's that were created by ACER eRecovery Management Software. The computer won't boot even when Safe Mode is selected.
Is it a formatting issue of the new hard drive? The original hard disk was 1TB and had three partitions: PQSERVICE ~35GB, BOOT SERVICE (or some title like that) 100MB, and ACER with the remainder of the space. How should the new hard drive be formatted?
My hard drive crashed on my laptop. Before It crashed, It gave me a hard drive warning of imminent failure, and gave me an option to create recovery disks. I ended up creating 11 disks from the option. I installed the new hard drive and the BIOS reads that it will boot from the internal optical drive first. When I insert the first CD and start then computer, it continues to read "Operating system not found". When I look at the CD in another computer, it reads three files and one folder. The first file is an icon file which reads "Setup", the next is a "Media" bin file, and the last is an autorun setup information file. The last is a folder that contains various other backup files. My computer did not come with any copies of windows.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust built a new PC, specs as follows:
3770K
32GB DDR3
ASRock Z77 Extreme6
Crucial M4 128GB (from previous build)
OCZ Vertex 4 128GB
WD 400GB (from previous previous build)
I got Windows 7 up and running on the Crucial drive (connected at SATA3_1, with the WD connected and functioning on SATA3_A1) and then decided it was time to get Xubuntu up and running on the OCZ (SATA3_0). So I installed rEFInd on the Crucial's ESP and it worked - I was able to launch Windows 7 from the rEFInd menu. I then disconnected the Crucial and connected the OCZ, and installed Xubuntu. In the UEFI, I set rEFInd as the boot device/manager, and from the rEFInd menu I can select Xubuntu and Windows 7 - great. However, I can only actually boot Xubuntu; booting Windows 7 results in a Windows Error Recovery loop.Disconnecting all but the Crucial SSD, I can get into Startup Repair. It attempts repair for several minutes, fails with the following details:Quote :Problem signature:

I have an OEM version of Win 7 Pro (English) currently installed on my system. I am currently upgrading my Motherboard and CPU, building another system with the old parts. As the recipients of my old setup are German, the OS needs to be in German for them also.
Here is my dilemma. When I pickup a new copy of Win 7 it will be in German (as I am living in Germany). They need a German instillation of 7 and my current OEM key is locked to the old motherboard. Will I be able to use that English OEM key with a German instillation, then use the new German key with my current English disks?
before people say anything about what i want to do, 1, yes i am crazy and 2, i have 4 days off work, so i need something to do.
now with that over, lol, this is what i want to do.
you know how most laptops have a hidden recovery partition, where you can use the Alt + F10 combo or something similar to reinstall windows, i want to make one of them, and put it on my laptop, so if i am ever needing to reinstall windows, i can do it, without needing all of my disks.
i know most people are going to say just use ghost or something like that, but i have games like bioshock, and ra3 etc installed, and i want to include them in the recovery partition.
i recently was using a product called ptedit32. In which i was trying to unhide my pq service to see what was in there. So i changed its boot from hidden to active.(0C was changed to 07) with the other three partitions being 07 as well. This has turned out bad for me now. It seems there is a mbr that is not being recognized. I turn the acer 0ne aspire d255e on and the machine goes to a screen that say can't load windows due to recent hardware or software changes.Status: 0xc0000225It also ask to have the installation disk inserted, of which there is'nt one and the computer doesn't have a dvd/cd drive anyway. It was all on the pq service, which is the hidden partition. I've tried flashing the acer pc as well from usb. and can't get that to work.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an ACER One (Model A0531h) netbook. I have now tried several times to recovery it to factory settings using the built in recovery partition. I access this recovery partition by using Alt-f10 during boot. The recovery runs fine up until 99% where it 'sticks'.. for days..The application running the recovery is Acer eRecovery Manager v7.5.15. I have also recovering using the recovery DVD's which I burned. They seem to go through the process but then when I restart the system I get a black screen complaining about missing files. I am then instructed to run recovery...This is driving me crazy. I have also reseated the RAM but dont want to have to strip of the cover to reseat hard drive. I can however hear it running and I have also used Active@boot to reformat the C drive. The recovery partition has not been touched and is not damaged. It runs perfectly up to 99%.
View 1 Replies View Relatedyesterday I ordered a Crucial M4 128 Solid State Drive. I want to use it in my laptop as a bootdisk for my Windows (my laptop has 2 hard drive slots). My old hard drive came with an Acer recovery partition. My question is simple (I hope the solution is also simple): how do I move the recovery partition from my old hard drive to the Solid State Drive? All the necessary drivers are on the recovery partition, which is the main reason I want to have it on my SSD.
EDIT: will I lose the functionality of restoring my laptop when pressing ALT+F10 on boot?
everytime i try to factory reset my pc with erecovery managment, it never finishes once it gets to the end, it will say installing sysprep - factory mode, 52/52 and never finishes after that. is there any third party software that can factory restore my system? i noticed windows boots just fine even tho i didn't finish the whole software installation process.
