Jan 3, 2013Above is the error that comes up after I troubleshoot this issue. okay so to start off let me say the things I have done.
1. I have restarted my computer multiple times and restarted the modem and router.
2. I've checked my services to make sure that that weird code is not there and it was not.
This problem just came up recently and had no issues with it before and this computer has been running for over a year.

Jan 5, 2013my laptop will not load up. I can get it to the screen where it says repair computer, safe mode and all that. (advance boot options) but anytime I click any off them it goes to a screen where it says I need to put in the windows installer disk. I do not have any disk but I downloaded the repair disc from my other laptop. I put the disk in the computer and restart it and it just goes back to same screen. It does not automatic rebot, or ask me to rebot from disk.

Feb 15, 2012i hope im posting in the right place. For the past 3 weeks my computer has had me so frustrated i dont know what to do. First off it started off just randomly powering off. Which got worse and worse. So we took it apart and made sure everything was clean and dust free etc. Now its not powering off as much but its freezing. Freezing alot. When it freezes you cant do anything. No cntl alt delete, you cant even move the mouse. Its like complete freeze. Also everytime it freezes when i try to restart the computer it hangs in bios about 5 times until finally after restarting it 5 more times i can make it back into windows. It keeps doing it and i have tried almost everything i can think of. I know its not overheating because i have been checking the tempurture of everything on the computer everyday. Everything is running super cool.

Jun 24, 2011The computer will not return from waking. The machine is fully updated and power settings are correct. Mouse and keyboard have been enabled to wake the computer.The issue is one of several, sometimes the monitor will go to sleep and either completely ignore the request to wake, nothing happens no HDD activity light fans are active but show no change in speed with keyboard input. Or, the monitor will go to wake and looks like its receiving a signal (Monitor light will change from orange to blue) but remains black. Again with no HDD activity. Or if i turn my back for a few minutes (ALWAYS WHEN IM NOT LOOKING!) the screen will be a nice blue hue and will not show/accept any input. I've disabled hibernation and Hybrid sleep. Switch from S3 to S1 in BIOS. Im hesitant to keep the HDD from powering down since this computer will be used heavily by our sales staff. Put the computer through a very thorough diag and ll hardware passes. I also initially thought the problem was the system image and used another known good image to restore the machine.

Jan 15, 2013I've got a total of six computers on my network - 2 running Windows 7 and 4 running XP. With the exception of one computer, all of the machines see each other on the network and can share files. One XP machine does not see the shared folders of my new Win 7 machine but does list it as a "workgroup" computer. When I try to access the computer itself I am prompted for a password. Passwords are turned off on the Win 7 machine and none of the other computers on the network get prompted for passwords to access this computer. I assumed that it was due to the setting on the Win 7 machine but they are all set for sharing with everyone on the network. Passwords are off. Firewall is off as well. The network name is consistent across all the machines. I've been unable to find any information on why just one computer on the network would be prompted for a password to access another computer on the network.

To attempt to resume configuration, restart the computer." Nov 15, 2012I'm having trouble with my very new computer (Lenovo Y480 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit), which I've narrowed down to the following sequence:
1. I restored computer to original factory settings (to rule out possible causes)
2. I ran msconfig, and checked the boxes 'Safe Mode' and 'Networking.' I got the following error message:"System configuration cannot save the original boot configuration for later restoration. Boot changes will be reverted. The system cannot find the file specified"
3. The default boot option disappeared from the boot menu (Windows 7, default OS, current OS).
4. When I restarted my computer, it would not boot and gave me the error 0xc00034, stating that the file BootBCD was missing.
I did not do anything else with my computer after restoring the factory settings, and I did not connect to the internet. I originally encountered the problem when I wanted to try installing Windows updates in safe mode after some of the installations failed. I have replicated the error several times, including after successfully installing all Windows updates.

All my other computers have XP or Vista and I can share files but the Win7 computer cannot open files on the Vista but can open files on the Xp computer. None of the other computer can open files on the Win 7. All are on the same workgroup and can see the Win 7 but not open. I have enabled all file sharing that I can find.

Oct 21, 2011I have a small home network set up with 4 PCs (1 laptop & 3 desktop). I can see all my computers in my networks but I cannot connect to one of my desktops using my laptop. All the other computers/laptops can read and transfer files without a problem except for the laptop connecting to one of the PCs.
Both the laptop and the PC that is asking for a network password are on the same version of Windows 7 Home. I have file and printer sharing enabled. All are on the same workgroup. I have firewall off and I have turned off password protected sharing yet when I try to connect or print from my laptop to the one PC it asks for a password and I can't figure out why.
This only started recently a week ago. Prior to that never had this problem and shared files/printer without a problem
