After formatting and setting a new partition using the installation disk, I install Windows 7, all goes well. But as soon as the installation is finished and my laptop restarts, it wont boot from the HDD. I keep getting error messages saying:
Windows Boot Manager
Windows failed to start....
File: ootBCD
Status: 0xc000000e
[Code].....
A copy of the current boot configuration data will be saved as c:ootcd.backup.0001
However when i hit the "ok go ahead and fix it then!"-button i get another error saying Startup Repair cant save the new boot options. Anyone know if i can fix this problem with BCDedit or bootrec.exe

I've done a clean installation of win 7 home for a mate on his laptop and want to use the product key that is underneath the laptop to complete the installation but the key has faded completely, I've emailed toshiba about it as its a toshiba model but ive had no response and its been 2 days. Is there any way to retrave it any quicker?
Got Windows 7 Clean Installation over the computer's USB 3.0 port done without too many problems but with some hassle anyhow. For the clean installation I followed the procedure of GreGrocker Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 and put the whole installation onto a 4GB USB Flash Drive. From the computer's USB 2.0 ports there was no problem whatsoever and Windows 7 got installed very quickly. However, over the computer's USB 3.0 port things weren't easy. I finally got it done by uploading the proper USB 3.0 Root Hub and Controller drivers *.ini and *.sys files.Strangely enough, at first everything went well over the USB3 port and the WinPE environment with its RAM drive (X:) got deployed correctly. The only sensible explanation for that is that the computer's BIOS used the appropriate and build-in USB3 driver to do that part of the job. However, once the the installer (located in the X: drive) was about to install Window 7 on the system HDD, it asked me for a CD/DVD driver. I loaded the appropriate USB3 drivers at that stage and the installation process continued over the USB3 port.I had a closer look in the RAM drive (X:WindowsSystem32DriverStoreFileRepository), and indeed, there are no USB3 drivers present anywere in that folder, only USB2 drivers where in there, named: usb.inf_amd64... and usbpor.inf_amd64... So I was wondering, as USB3.0 is so common and the future standard, why aren't there any USB3 drivers in that folder present? Is there any possibility that the creators of the Windows 7 Clean Installation files (Digital River, or My Digital Live) could put USB3 drivers in the Win7CI package?
Purchased a Windows 7 64 bit Professional (academic). I have been originally using a Windows 7. However, the HDD had been giving me fits and has currently died. I'm not unable to activate my upgrade key since my new HDD does not have an old version of Windows to upgrade from. What should I do?
i was just wondering how i extract the files from an installation disc onto a flash drive, so i can use the flash drive to perform a clean install.Extract Files from Windows 7 Installation DVD.i already looked at this but it wasn't specific to my uses.

I have a Samsung series 9 (NP9004XC) and I am upgrading the 128gb SSD that came with the computer to a Crucial M4 256GB mSATA. I am doing a clean install from a bootable USB that I created from the recovery disc that was included with the computer.I can load up setup but once I get to the part where I choose what disk I want to install it to I get an error. There is only one disk listed (Disk 0, Partition 1) and when I try to select that disk to install Windows to I get the error:"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu."
I've been troubleshooting this computer for some time now. At first, I disabled RAID because of the blue screens and I found that one was bad and the second of the RAID 1 appeared fine. Well, I installed XP to ensure it would work and that was extremely slow. My client didn't have a disc to XP MCE, but instead bought Windows 7. The installation took about 12 hours and the system is often unresponsive. On resource monitor, the 2.13Ghz Conroe CPU is barely tapped and the 2GB of RAM is barely at 30%. However, the system takes forever to boot and it very often stops responding for a period of time.
I did my research and found out that this model--original specs--can handle 7 better than this. I told the client it was probably an HDD error, as it seems to hang everytime the system must access the HDD. I can't even run the Index to find out what the systems rating is. I mem tested the RAM and chkdsk the HDDs before removing the first because of its clear faults in its inability to hold an OS installation. I recently installed the 2.5.3 BIOS update, but I haven't had a chance to install a newer version of Intel Matrix Manager.
i clean installed new WINDOWS 7 PROFESSIONAL 32bit on laptop SONY VAIO VGN-FZ11Z.Operating system is genuine but downloaded from MSDN. But it is giving me a lot of process validation errors. Genrally these errors are coming on application launch. After that mostly application aborts or restarts.
I recently bought two ssds and striped them with my on board raid. Any ways i got windows 7 installed on it just fine ( after i got the driver issues worked out)But my problem is that I was looking forward to a fast boot time, but now every time i boot it go's to a screen that detects all of my storage devices.
I have a Toshiba laptop with 2 partitions- One with windows vista on it and one for backups. I want to join the two partitions and use the Windows 7 Upgrade pack and do a clean installation. How would i go about joining the two partitions? Am i able to use the upgrade version to install it?

i was wondering if anyone has any programs they could recommend to use to wipe a hard drive clean before reinstalling windows 7, I noticed you have this CCleaner 3 link on here CCleaner - Download.com If i put that on a disk and started it up as i would to reinstall can that wipe the disk clean?
So i'm trying to do a clean install of windows 7 (x36) from XP that im currently running. i've burnt the iso down on a dvd and it boots fine and the installation runs normally. I'm getting through all the steps within the installation when it at last says something about that it's done and it's going to restart for the first use of windows 7. Now i'm getting my problem.
The computer starts up and goes through the memory testing and such but just as it's about to start windows 7 i'm getting a black screen and my monitor says "No signal - blabla" and 3 seconds later it restarts itself. If i don't do anything now my computer loops this restarting on and on...
So i've tried to install it with removing my two 512mb RAMS and only have two 1gb of the same brand. Didn't help.
so for about 5 days, i have experienced random and sporadic bsod, before that it was normal and stable. i did my installation on my os on october 2011. i'm quite sure it's graphic driver but i've clean installed almost 10 times and still crashing. it crashes randomly when i opened a Internet video or open a video file, everything regarding to video. i'm already feeling hopeless here

My daughters CQ61 required a clean install after repair. Windows 7 jus goes through the normal install process and hangs at completeing installation. I'm not a Noob but not a Geek either. I can only assume the drive is fine as it is running fine in the T400 IMB i am using now. Now here is the strange bit..... When i was just starting out i to had a CQ61 and it too needed a clean install and it did the same for months with friends in th know looking and trying to. In the end i send off for the factory software discs and tey went on straight away with win7 working fine. It was literally restored to new. I passed on said disks when i sold said CQ61 adising the guy never to go down the road i had. Now the software discs are no longer available from HP and There is none on torrents anywhere. I cannot accept that this is the only way to install clean install. If it was that critical to have the discs they would send them out with the new machine. So thats muti attempts by multiple people on 2 identical machines presenting the same hang. One was solved with the Sowfwaredisks provided by HP and are no longer available. Should have copied them i know but never thought i would be looking down the same barrel of the same gun.
On both PCs after a successful clean Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, starts windows for the first time etc etc ask me to select windows update setting, goes into windows desktop then does a auto restart (proper logging off restart etc). At this point, after bios screen when it attempts to boot from hdd the PC just resets inself and goes back to POST, over and over again. I've tried using only one stick of ram, tried using VGA to do a clean install again instead of DVI, tried changing my RAM to a lower clock speed, every other bios setting is default. I also tried updating to the latest bios and again did a clean install (delete and create partition) even tried installing x86 instead of x64.
I have a PC on which the hard drive died. I had previously done the Advisor and it said everything is OK for new install of Win 7 Home Premium.
I removed old hard drive and 2 gigs of memory (now 2 gigs installed) installed new hard drive, set appropriate ( i think) BIOS parms. When I start the DVD I get the 'loading files' message and the colorful logo then a blank screen with a large arrrow cursor -- and nothing. Wait 5, 10 15 minutes and the only hint of activity is the hard drive light is flickering about once every 2 seconds. I've now waited for over an hour and still nothing else.
I've tried to do all the things that have been suggested for others who have had problems but it hasn't helped. Machine is a Dell 4700C with 3.4 GHz processor , 2 gigs of memory, only keyboard, mouse, and monitor attached in addition to the hard drive.
I just reinstalled Windows 7 64bit from an OEM Disc i bought awhile ago for my system. Now that i have installed it, and updated it to the fullest, my boot time when windows is loading is really slow. 35-50 seconds to get to the Desktop. It used to take 5-15 seconds. I looked to see the Start-up services so i could disable extras, but being a clean install there wasnt any.
I also updated my BIOS, and the problem is still occurring. The Only things that are connected are my Mouse, Keyboard, and my External HDD (Which is unplugged when i boot up the system)
Here is my Configuration:

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-NW270F 15" laptop with Windows 7 (64 bit) Home Premium. 320 gb. Oh i'm also out of warranty.Computer always freezes at the point where it says "starting windows" and stays frozen. I even left it for alone for 24 hrs and it stayed on that screen.
Things I've tried:
1. I used safe mode to repair windows = just restarted in normal mode and froze at "windows is starting"
2. Used safe mode to restore to earlier point = could not to restore message
3. Created repair disc from another Vaio win 64 = froze at "windows is starting"
4. Used registry clean and malware bytes in safe mode = malware bytes found nothing & reg clean did nothing
5. Fresh install of windows 7 = windows bar loaded then froze at "windows is starting"
6. Reformatted hard drive & performed fresh install = windows bar loaded 7 froze at same point
7. Bought new Western digital 320 gb SATA Hard drive & tried install of win 7= same results
From my windows DVD, I've made an ISO image of it so I can copy it fully onto my USB(making it an ONLY install USB). The copying process took about 1-2 hours. I checked if the file were all there and it was. I then attempted to boot it from USB at the start of computer. I chose BOOT MENU > USB DEVICE, it takes about 1 minute then it says "Selected device is not available - press F11 to try again and F12 for setup" I think it was like this."The files were all there, with the autorun.inf and all codes are good but how come it won't boot?
I currently have 4 drives. I had Vista on my primary drive1, no OS secondary slave drive, Linux on my sata drive1, and Windows 7 64x on my sata drive2. I recently deleted Vista and installed windows 7 86x on my primary drive. Before installing Windows 7 86x the windows boot option gave me the choice to choose between the three OS and now it does not. The Windows 7 x64 drive is accessible and I'm able to view all folders but I can't get it to boot and that is where I have all my programs and work.
How can I get the boot manager to recognize my windows 7 64x drive which is not the primary drive?
well I'm having a bit of a problem. I got Windows 7 Pro 64bit installed on my computer but it won't boot up into it. It just sits at the screen "Loading Operating System." and does nothing.I'm at a loss at what I need to do. I can reinstall 7 if needed which will get me to the desktop but once I restart, it doesn't boot into it (ok I haven't tried a second time but I will in a sec).So does anyone have any idea on what I need to do?My motherboard Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-880GM-UD2H AM3 AMD 880G HDMI Micro ATX AMD MotherboardI have an old 80gb hdd as my main drive. Recently i decided to stick some extra RAM in my old computer as 2GB didn't seem like enough. After removing the 2x 1gb sticks and putting in everything (2x 2gb and 2x 1gb) when i got to windows boot up screen it took a while to load, and then froze. I played around with the RAM, tried only one of the 2gb in all 4 DDR2 slots and it booted perfectly, i did the same with other 2gb stick and same result so it isnt the RAM, and neither does it seem its the slots. Did the same thing with the 1gb and fine. tried every permutations involving the 4 sticks but whenever i top 2gb windows freezes.I read around first and looked at similar problems people have had on this, and so i cleared the CMOS and updated the BIOS but still the same result (didn't do all permutations this time). Here is the specs for everything:
