May 22, 2012I have this problem with my Toshiba laptop: Several days ago my com crashed, when I started my computer on the very beginning on start up screen when it says windows is starting I get a 1 second blue screen with some saying and my laptop restarts by it self. So, ok I have Windows 7 Ultimate installation dvd and i tried to install it,everything goes well untill on the second line of the very beginning of windows installation 98% I get this message Error Code: 0x80070570.
I've read some forums people were saying that this could be a RAM problem,so,ok my toshiba have 2 RAMS x 2 Gb..so i taken out 1 tried to install-same error, put in another slot-same error,replaced and putted my other Ram Memory in the slots same again. So,is there any solution how to fix this?i can see in bios that bios is reading my HDD,not sure if its working,does that mean that if BIOS is recognizing my Laptops HDD that works 100%?

Then I see a lot of people reduced to trying to install from a USB key .... great .... borrow my neighbours 4GB Cruzer, follow instructions, ... and bork it in the process of not installing the OS.
So eventually I call Microsoft and speak to a very nice lady in India who runs me through a dozen or so workarounds for this .. I'm pressing control +F keys left, right and centre, taking out RAM sticks, disabling EVERYTHING in BIOS.
Always the same thing:

So after maybe two hours on the phone with her she decided to report the issue to the second line team. I'm told they will call me back today as they don't work weekends (all this took place Friday up til now).
EASY SOLUTION:
I don't wait weekends for answers (nor do I usually need to call tech support). One thing we had noticed is that the repair console refused to lauch because it said there was an install in progress. But the support didn't pick up on this and it wasn't until Saturday morning I tried what turned out to be the easiest solution ever.
When you see the error "0x80070570 can't access files" on install click --> Cancel ---> you will be returned to the "Install Now" startup screen and - WITHOUT REBOOTING - just re-start the install.
Second time round it went smooth as clockwork and installed fine. I have not tried to reproduce this error as I just want a working system:
Be interested to know if this easy solution works for anyone else. I informed Microsoft of it when their engineer called today and they are going to look into it. They are aware of the install issue but never heard of this fix before.

Dec 24, 2012So I have spent the last few days troubleshooting the problem, I have tried most of the solutions I have found online, but still I get the 0x80070570 error at 14% of the install process. I have reformatted the hd prior to trying as well.some random observations:I have run hd diagnostics and everything passedI notice that in the BIOS setup utility that there are 3 SATA HDDs listed though I only have the one 'internal one' and no peripheralsI have downloaded and burned (and burned to USB) the .ISO file about five times with the same resultI haven't tried removing RAM because I only have one chip (4 gb) and I assume I cant have 'no' RAM to proceedAs I am sure you can imagine, it is driving me absolutely crazy.

Windows 7 Error Code 0x8007045d During Clean Install
May 7, 2012emachines em350 netbook with windows 7 installed. For some reason it got messesd up and he tried to do a system restore. Since then when you try to boot up its saying input a password to unlock the harddrive which we dont know. After you input wrong code 3 times you get option to continue which takes you to black screen saying no bootable device detected press any key to continue. Next i tried to do clean install with windows 7 from a usb this goes fine untill it asks for missing cd/dvd driver i have found away round this which is to select cancel then when back on install now screen swap the usb to another port and continue. This works so i select terms and so on then get to part where it asks where to install windows now i have formated and made a active partition on the hard drive but when i try to click next i get error code 0x8007045d this is where im stuck.

Sep 9, 2010savvy, and am having troubles installing Windows 7 on my laptop. I purchased the software, downloaded the .iso file from Microsoft's site, then burned the .iso file to a disc. Once on the disc it showed a few different folders and a setup option. I launched the setup option, which brought up the install window for windows 7. I chose clean install because upgrade is not an option for the current version of vista that I have, and while it is copying the files, after about 3% it gives me the error code 0x80070241 and says something about not being able to copy all of the needed files and that some of them may be corrupted. I don't know if this is a problem with my computer or with the disc that I've burned.

Apr 15, 2012Just inherited a pc, and bought a brand new 1tb hdd yesterday to install windows on. I was foolish at first by not changing any of the bios settings (was a long time since I have done an install) and just left it as it was. I got through to installing windows and it stopped at expanding files with the above error code, which I have heard is really commonWindows cannot install required files. Make sure all files required or installation are available, and restart the installation.Now I am certain there is nothing wrong with the DVD, as it is the same one that has been used on two other PC's. I tried turning it off and restarting, that was when I got another error load up - Bootmgr is missing!After this I restarted it and changed the bios settings to boot from the DVD drive. I tried doing a repair on this through the disc.
Went through all the settings and typed Bootrec.exe/REBUILDBCD in command prompt but that came back fine. I tried clicking startup repair after this but it did not restart, so I just went through the motions and restarted it manually as by this point I was getting frustrated. Upon restart I went through and booted from the DVD, and it went straight through. This time I tried re-installing but deleted all the partitions on the drive which had appeared since trying to install. However the same error message has come up again

I am doing a clean install from a bootable USB that I created from the recovery disc that was included with the computer.I can load up setup but once I get to the part where I choose what disk I want to install it to I get an error. There is only one disk listed (Disk 0, Partition 1) and when I try to select that disk to install Windows to I get the error:"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. Jan 27, 2011I have been encountering this same error code in one of my machines. I get the Error Code: 0x8007050 during installation of Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bit. It occurs during the expansion of files phase, during instalation, with the message "Windows cannot install the required files. Make sure the required files are available..."
Machine Specs:
Intel DP43TF MB
Intel Quad Core 8300 CPU
4GB OCZ ATI DDR2 RAM
Antec 500 Watt PSU
Hitachi HDS725050 KLA360 HD
and later a Seagate ST3640323AS HD.
In previous installations of Win 7, I've observed that about 29MB are copied to the System Reserved partition. In this scenario, only 11MB are copied. I've performed the following trouble shooting in order:
- Changed out the DVD drive. Tried installation again without success.
- Performed factory system restore on the hard drive. Tried installation again without success.
- Replaced the hard drive with a new one. Tried installation again without success.
- Removed all PCI cards, and tried again with just the PCI-E video card. Tried installation again without success.
- Replaced the PCI-E video card with a PCI card. Tried installation again without success.
- Cloned the "System Reserved" partition from another PC with a functioning install of the same OS. Tried installation again without success.
It should be noted that this specific machine was previously running Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bit. I was simply attempting to upgrade the hard drive. I've also tried to install Win 7 Home and Win 7 Pro, all with the exact same error code, which occurs during the same phase of installation. I also tried to perform an Upgrade install. The machine accepted a complete install of Win Vista Ultimate 64 bit (twice), but had the same error codes appear during the Upgrade install to Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bit. I reformatted and reinstalled same Vista 64 bit OS. I tried to install Win 7 Pro 64 Bit, and again encountered the same error codes. Incidentally, I have used 3 different Retail Win 7 install media. The machine passes all MemTest and CPU diagnostics.

Last Saturday, I tried to install the Windows 7 Professional ( Downloaded from MSDN). When tried to boot from DVD it said " Windows Cannot Boot From this drive. CODE- 5".
I tried from my another DVD drive. Same Error.
Changed all possible jumper settings for HDD and DVD-RW's ( All IDE) as Pri- master/Slave, Sec Master/Slave. Nothing Worked.
Also I tried with another copy of Win 7 Home Premium came with my Dell Laptop (Worked fine for fresh installation in my laptop). Still same Error.
But I'm able to install both Windows 7 Home Premium and Professional in the same system, starting installation from XP (Not Booting from DVD).
Now I installed Windows 7 Pro as I said and after that I deleted Windows.old folder. All running fine.
With some curiosity, I tried to boot again from DVD drive with Windows 7 Dvd, same Error, even after installing Windows 7.
Till now I don't Know how to perform a clean installation of Windows 7 in my system.
Installation Problem Error Code 0X8007017
Aug 2, 2009So This is my 3rd install disc I made and I Re-downloaded 64 bit windows 7 no problems. Integrity was checked and successful. I burned at the slowest speed 2.4x Also no errors.
Once I go to install windows 7 it jumps to 8% then 100% then i get an error saying Files are missing or corrupted. I don't see why I should have this problem since downloading and burning process went smooth.
the error code was 08007017.
I also disabled my norton or most of it.
Anybody have any ideas whats wrong I only have about 2 more discs left to burn.

Mar 28, 2011I am getting the error code 0x80070570 Everytime I try and install Windows 7. I am trying to do a custom install so it cleans out the computer. I have Windows 7 Pro OEM 32bit. I have the requirements it takes to put Windows 7 on a computer. I have tried two different discs same results. System is custom built, with Gigabit GA-H55M-S2H motherboar, Intel core i3, 4gb Memory, 500gb hdd. It gets past the part of coping files and then comes up with the Error code of 0X80070570. I have tried to install several times using two different discs and allways the same result.

Downloaded 7057 and durned the .iso to DVD and when trying to install to formatted partition this error appeared. Since then I can't re-install 7048 either! Aug 12, 2009I am trying to install Windows 7 32-bit RC on a desktop PC. I have previously used this disk successfully to install the OS on a laptop.
I keep getting an error message to the effect that Windows cannot install required files.
Error code: 0x80070570 Initially I thought that this was due to a flaky DVD drive but I have now installed a different drive and am still getting the same message. I also tried a SATA DVD drive but it seems that the Windows 7 installation process didn't like (have drivers for) this interface
edit:I have previosuly managed to load Windows 7 64-bit RC on this PC but had some problems with stability so thought I would give the 32-bit version a go.
I notice that some people have got around this problem by burning the DVD at slow speeds and by using a USB drive to boot from; since I have successfully installed using this DVD, the former doesn't seem relevant and I don't have an 8GB USB drive available. I will try running MemTest86+ on the system on the off-chance.Any explanations / other suggestions .
ps - I have just downloaded a new copy of Windows 7 32-bit RC, burned it at 1x and have got the same unhelpful error message

I have read something about it and found some things that can be solutions:No USB plugged in (just tested - doesn't work) No recovery partition (not tested, going to test) 2 GB memory instead of 3 GB
For the latest point I don't know if it will work, because I have 1GB+2GB memory and not 3x1GB. Does it work with 1x2GB? I'm running clean install from upgrade dvd.
Does anyone have other solutions to this problem?
And do the points mentioned above work?

May 27, 2010I successfully installed the 32-bit windows 7 on my computer, upgrading it from windows XP. I spent an hour realizing how awesome the new OS is before deciding i needed to reformat to be sure i was rid of all spyware/malware. After trying to do the clean install, I keep getting the "Windows cannot install required files" error right when the install starts "expanding". It goes to 1% and then stops. I am installing this from an ISO off of a 4GB flash drive.Here's what I have tried so far:Redownloading and rewritting the flash drive (several times)Updating the BIOS driversRestarting the installation without a rebootRunning chkdsk on the flash driveNone of these things have worked for me.
