After my computer got a virus, I decided to perform a clean install. In the middle of installing, it says, "The file does not exist. Makes sure all files required for
installation are available , and restart Error code:0x80070002".
Just inherited a pc, and bought a brand new 1tb hdd yesterday to install windows on. I was foolish at first by not changing any of the bios settings (was a long time since I have done an install) and just left it as it was. I got through to installing windows and it stopped at expanding files with the above error code, which I have heard is really commonWindows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required or installation are available, and restart the installation. Now I am certain there is nothing wrong with the DVD, as it is the same one that has been used on two other PC's. I tried turning it off and restarting, that was when I got another error load up - Bootmgr is missing! After this I restarted it and changed the bios settings to boot from the DVD drive. I tried doing a repair on this through the disc.
Went through all the settings and typed Bootrec.exe/REBUILDBCD in command prompt but that came back fine. I tried clicking startup repair after this but it did not restart, so I just went through the motions and restarted it manually as by this point I was getting frustrated. Upon restart I went through and booted from the DVD, and it went straight through. This time I tried re-installing but deleted all the partitions on the drive which had appeared since trying to install. However the same error message has come up again
I'm having probleam installing the is UG version of Windows 7 Pro for students. I followed the directions here, and converted the iso into usb bootable disk, and everytime i run the disk it keeps getting me an error.
"Windows was unable to locate required installation file [boot.wim]. Verify that the installation source is valid. and restart the installation."
Error code: 0x80070002
I am trying to do a dual boot, keeping my current xp into Asus eee box b202.
while I try the troubleshooting wizard in my computer, I receive the message which says that it can not continue due to the error code 0x80070002. this is because I want to reactivate a software called epiinfo7 which has stopped working. so how this error code can be removed?
After saving money for quite while, i was able to finally buy a new pc, i had assembled other pc`s for my friends and never had any trouble installing windows on their systems, but now, every time i try to install windows 7 x64, the computer hangs while extracting windows files, then, after some time it prompts me with the error 0x80070002, saying that it didn`t find the required files, so i tried with many suggestions:- Updated to the latest BIOS.- Switched the RAM modules from A2 and B2 to A1 and B1 (my cpu fan was in the way so i had to buy another, and yup, i`m living on cup noodles).
- Ran memtest x86+ for 8 hours (no errors)- Ran sea tools but it didnīt detect any drives (still donīt know why, and the windows 7 installer detects the hdd just fine, also tried it on another computer and works fine)- Switched sata cables, switched sata connectors.- Switched from ahci to ide on the Bios, but it didnīt detect any drives after that, so i returned to ahci.- Disassembled all the pc and re-assembled it, re-checked every connection with every install guide 3 times- Tryied to install again, several times, with the same problem, never getting beyond the 48% extraction, mostly 12%, 9% and so on.And right now, iīm poor, un-able to work, and dangerously nearing towards un-employement (sold my previous computer to buy this one, my savings are gone, and canīt afford to get sick, a little problem called "living in Mexico"
7 Ultimate on a Lenovo computer, 8 mb RAM, Q8200 CPU. Recently I started getting notifications that my backup failed because the system cannot find the file specified, and the above error code. I'm not specifying any files, and I've reset backup to its default settings, all to no avail. I'm backing up to an external USB hard drive. In fact I bought a new one because I thought the old one was too small
i've recently decided to reinstall windows 7 64bit because my computer started freezing up occasionally while browsing, playing games or even watching Internet videos... the freezes would pass after a few minutes and the computer would recover and start up/shut down would take a long time as well. so i thought that reinstalling windows might work as i haven't done it in a long while. but i encountered a problem while installing windows 7 64bit, i receive these errors (0x8007045d and later after trying a few things it changed to 0x80070002 both times it stated something about files missing or being corrupt) while on the "extracting windows files" section of the setup.
i've done a clean install every single time and formated my hdd (seagate barracuda 7200.10 320gb) but got an error every single time but at various %'s (once it went up to 70% other times it would get stuck as soon as 5%). i've tried switching ram's, switching dvd drives, disconnecting my gpu but nothing seems to work... has my hdd died? or perhaps my mobo or cpu is acting up? i burned my windows 7 iso's myself via imgburn - i've used the slowest possible burn speed (x2) and did it multiple times but every single dvd gave same error. also i've tried multiple iso's and downloaded them multiple times as well to confirm they didn't get corrupted while downloading.
my specs: os: formatted hdd right now but previously i used windows 7 64bit motherboard: intel bearlake g31 (i think, not sure... its such an old mobo) cpu: intel core 2 duo 3.3ghz gpu: geforce 9600gt - tried removing but didn't work ram: ocz 2x2gb 800mhz ddr2 - tried switching to an exact same pair from another computer but it didn't work hdd: seagate barracuda 7200.10 320gb dvd-rom: not sure but i tried two different ones, both producing errors

I believe this has something to do with the windows update I installed previously. I am not 100% sure I did install it before the errors started happening, but I am pretty sure. I have full administrative permissions. I was able to install a ".NET" frame work, however, it did not fix my problem.
emachines em350 netbook with windows 7 installed. For some reason it got messesd up and he tried to do a system restore. Since then when you try to boot up its saying input a password to unlock the harddrive which we dont know. After you input wrong code 3 times you get option to continue which takes you to black screen saying no bootable device detected press any key to continue. Next i tried to do clean install with windows 7 from a usb this goes fine untill it asks for missing cd/dvd driver i have found away round this which is to select cancel then when back on install now screen swap the usb to another port and continue. This works so i select terms and so on then get to part where it asks where to install windows now i have formated and made a active partition on the hard drive but when i try to click next i get error code 0x8007045d this is where im stuck.
savvy, and am having troubles installing Windows 7 on my laptop. I purchased the software, downloaded the .iso file from Microsoft's site, then burned the .iso file to a disc. Once on the disc it showed a few different folders and a setup option. I launched the setup option, which brought up the install window for windows 7. I chose clean install because upgrade is not an option for the current version of vista that I have, and while it is copying the files, after about 3% it gives me the error code 0x80070241 and says something about not being able to copy all of the needed files and that some of them may be corrupted. I don't know if this is a problem with my computer or with the disc that I've burned.
My relatively new seagate harddrive failed on me last week so I requested a replacement. It arrived (refurbished model..) and upon putting it in and trying to install Windows, the following occurs.
After selecting custom install windows attempts to copy files. It hangs at 0% for 10-15 minutes and then spits out an error message stating "Windows could not format a partition on disk 0. The error occurred while preparing the partition selected for installation. Error code: 0x80070057".
And then I notice a new 100 mb partition appears. I cannot get by this step. I cannot install windows onto this harddrive. I've done some searching but most solutions require being able to boot into a functioning version of windows, which I cannot as the drive is "new".
The motherboard is an Asrock B75M running Uefi bios The attempted install of windows is Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 The harddrive is a Seagate 1TB drive
I purchased the Home Premium version of Windows 7 from TigerDirect.com; I don't know enough to download the installation! I have tried everything I know (which admittedly is next to nothing) and keep getting the above error message when installation reaches the part where it's unpacking/expanding the files. I'm upgrading from Vista, uninstalled all the recommended programs to be removed before installing Windows 7 and I still keep getting that error message.
I did download the iso that i got from Microsoft Moderator and it was Home premium 64 bit, did burn whith 2x whith imgburn and verify succefully then i did put it inside my pc and got that error on expanding fils 0%. Im using a Hp pavillion p6310sc . I had when i bought computer Home premium 64 bit but i tryed my friends 32 bit ultimate before but now i tried that too and gets same error. I got this issues while my computer did frezze and waited like 30 minutes then restarted pc and got something windows cannot boot so i did do the repair automatically for 12 hours and did not happend anything so did turn off pc, I tryed system recovery was on 0% for about 12 hours but when we did install 32 bit utlimate we did by mistake format the recovery harddisk so i dont have it on the hdd anymore. I have even formated the hdd whith diskpart clean all so its nothing on it but stills error and no install. Im writing this on a ipad and have not have my pc for 4 weeks so i pray and hope we can fix this pc because right now i have only economy for a hdd ans maybe cd rom but not a new computer. I have gotten a new error now when removing 2 gb of ram. Error code: 0x800703EE
This has to do with a windows update that wouldn't install and keeps giving me an error code(800FO203). The update is for Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. No matter what I do it wouldn't install. (Disabled firewall, antivirus, contacted Realtek).
Windows installation encounter an unexpected error, very that the installation sources are accessible and restart the installation...

I have a Gateway laptop M series that I upgraded to Windows 7 a few years back (o.g. Vista) has run beautifully ever sense. Recently installed Win8 fresh. Error code OxcOOOOOe9 became the issue. Start up repair was performed several times with no resolve. Used cmd to perform MBR fixes including fix mbr, bootrec.exc, and other fixes found on this site. Nothing seems to resolve the issue. I gave up and was about to call it quits, under the assumption the hdd was gone. One day I decided to throw a fresh copy of Ubuntu on it for laughs ( I am currently getting my certs in networking and linux+) it works flawlessly. Strange to me although I understand there is a difference with grub and mbr.
I should add that I am now just trying to reinstall 7. I have played with 8 on a different PC and would rather stick with the former.
I got notification 1/9 that 14 updates are available for Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit. All installed but 1. Update KB2773072 generates error code 80073712. I have re-tired multiple times each after a system reboot. The update is RECOMMENDED not critical. I can probably go without it. It appears it is related to gaming applications. I don't game. getting the update installed?
now my pc in windows7 and i want to install windows server 2008 but installing time to showing this computer does not have enough space for temprory files windows installation need at least 464 mb space on any partition for temrory files code:0x80070103
I have already reported to Sony to but i heard their take their time but thats the one thing what i dont have at the moment so i know many people here know about that stuff to. So anyway. Some time ago SP1 launched for Windows 7. I installed but it but something went it wrong and it didn't install correcly and then i was forced to use System restore. Everything worked and i haven't used SP1 because i don't want to risk screwing up my computer before some important things, i got plenty of time later for that . The problem is after the system restore every time Vegas launches i get a error : Sony Vegas pro 10 an error occurred starting Vegas Pro Error 0x80070002 (message missing).
I have just upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 ( A few days) and after a look around thought I'd do a Back-up but I received an error message that it couldn't be completed with Error - 0x80070002.
So, please, can someone explain this and how to overcome it.
I recently have had major issues with my HP pavilion dv6 laptop. I bought it about a year ago, and it has worked reasonably well until now. I downloaded some iso files, and I wanted to run them, because they were an old game that I really liked of my friends, but he sold it. I tried to copy it onto a disk, but the disk was playing up, so I downloaded DAEMON tools lite so that I could install it. I then had to restart the computer, as you have to with new software, and It seemed fine. I then turned on the computer the next day, and the CHKDSK program ran. I didn't worry about this too much, it happens occasionally.but when the computer started up properly; it wouldn't run any programs. when I tried to get things to go, it would always come up with a balloon in the corner saying that the file system structure is corrupt or unusable, please run CHKDSK on file system C:. So I did. The next day(today), everything worked fine. I could do just about everything. I told CHKDSK and the memory diagnostics tool to run while I was at school. I didn't notice anything bad at the time. Everything worked when I got home from school; except that most of my gadgets had no writing on them, which concerned me a little, and some of my startup programs didn't start.
Critical updates were installed for my Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit desktop yesterday, today I put the computer on and just after the Windows loading screen I receive a Bluescreen for a millisecond before computer immediately restarts. I am them prompted to do a repair when computer restarts which after many minutes brings up the error message 0x80070002. The computer is a self build and has been fine for 3 years but this appears to be a major problem. I cannot afford to lose my files (most are backed up but not all since I only back up every month to an external drive). From the repair screen, I have tried to restore the computer before critical updates were installed (what I feel is causing the problem) but the restore point fails. I cannot enter the desktop and now the startup repair simply hangs.
While trying to save an image to an external hard drive, I get a message saying "Failed to complete, file 0x8007002 not found". I'm running the Windows 7 Evaluation copy.
So I have been wanting to fix this issue for a while. I want to have a fresh backup file on my computer to use incase anything ever goes wrong and I have to revert to a earlier time. My last backup was back in December and has stopped working since then. I have done a lot to this computer and If I ever have to do a system restore that's the only backup point I could revert to and that's bad. I would loose A LOT of stuff on my PC. Okay so every time I try and run the backup or when it runs on its own I get this error message: The system can not find the file specified. With error code 0x80070002 at the bottom of more information. I'm using a 1TB USB External HDD. Brand is Green Drive. My PC is an HP and is using a motherboard that they shipped it with. This is my motherboard just incase anyone wants to see, because I read this might be a USB chip set issue. [URL] I'm using Windows 7 x64bit.
