Windows 7 Stuck At Starting Screen After Loading Bar Finishes
Jan 31, 2012
I just finished building my first computer in 8-9 years or so. I was quite excited that my computer booted first time I turned it on but my excitement was soon overwhelmed with defeat. Let me start by linking my computers specs. [URL] I downloaded windows 7 from my schools msdn website I have the key and everything. I then burned it to a dvd. After booting from my dvd drive the loading bar continues and finishes. The 4 colorful balls float around then come together and my computer gets stuck.
Now It's very important to note that I was able to get past this screen after restarting my computer 4 times and I was successfully able to load continue on to installing windows only to get stuck in the same screen while booting from my ssd. Then I thought this issue could've been caused by using my SSD. So I unplugged it and repeated the same process using my seagate HD same thing happened. When I try starting it in safe mode the computer continues on to loading windows but I get prompted to restart it in normal mode so that the installation can continue.
I've seen lots of problems but this one has me puzzled. I thought my old graphics card (EVGA GTX 285) was having some problems and it was time for an upgrade so I purchased a new EVGA GTX-660 ti. I'm still having the same problem so I don't think its the graphics card. What happens, when windows starts before the log in screen comes up the monitor shuts down. However, I can start Windows in safe mode. I can go in and remove the drivers and restart Windows and everything comes up. Windows will install the new drivers and when I restart to set the drivers the problem returns exactly as before. I have flashed the BIOS, updated the chip set drivers, tried loading the card drivers from several different sources and no luck. Its a Gateway FX6801 PC, i7, 12 gigs of RAM, 750w power supply (I have watched the BIOS power and its steady as a rock)
I just got a copy of windows 7(64-bit ultimate, because its from my college its the upgrade version) and I'm having some install troubles. The installation keeps freezing right when it finishes loading the dvd.
Currently on windows xp. We know the dvd works (tried it in a different computer) and the dvd drive in this system works (tried using different operating systems). I can move the mouse around, and no keyboard shortcuts appear to work. I had the windows 7 beta installed a ways back, so I know the OS works on this system.
i created a partition and formatted it of 70gb to install windows 7 in it. Im obviously using the clean install method, everything goes fine. It expands the files, it installs them, copies them, etc. When my system is booting up, it shows me the screen of windows below saying "windows is starting up", the problem is that windows never starts up, i left it for a night, and it didnt start up, it just stayed there. Im trying to install windows 7 64bit, any help would be greatly appreciated.
I rebooted my PC after installing the latest version of iTunes, and upon reboot I couldn't get past the motherboard splash screen. I tried removing each stick of RAM individually, I tried removing the battery, but finally it was clearing the CMOS which helped me at least get past the mobo splash screen (after pulling out all of the USB devices plugged in otherwise it would also freeze), but now it gets stuck on the Windows 7 loading screen.
I tried entering the Windows 7 repair function, but it freezes on a black screen (I waited about 20 minutes).
I tried booting into safe mode, but it gets stuck while loading this file: AVGIDSEH.sys
Now since I can't even boot into windows to try to do any kind of diagnosis, I figured I would create a USB drive portable version of Windows 7.
My question is, if I manage to boot into my portable Windows, what kind of tests should I run?
Finally one last question, typically when Windows 7 gets stuck at loading is it hardware related or would a complete re-install fix the issue? At this point I just need to get it back and running I don't care about losing my settings and programs.
Yesterday I woke up to my computer sitting at the starting windows loading screen. I have no idea why it turned off but now every time i try to start it, It sits at the loading screen. I already tried system restore and start up repair. Did it a bunch of different times and the restore worked yet still had the same problem repair did not work. I can get into safe mode, so i tried to do the msconfig way. I did selective start up and disabled all the non Microsoft services. Restarted and It still sat on loading screen. I then opened the desktop up and tried cleaning it making sure all hardware was properly seated. Still no success.
Doing a Normal startup, or booting from the Windows 7 cd it will get so far as the Starting Windows screen, the Microsoft copy-write shows up briefly greyed out some, and just sits there. In Safe Mode, it loads everything seemingly, lastly avgidsha.sys, then sits on Please wait...I have narrowed it down to hot the HDD or memory. I've put another HDD with Windows 7 on it, getting the same results. The MemTest 86+ cd actually loads and runs, came up 100% with no errors. Other suggestions that I have found use bootable CDs that want to start Windows first. The Windows 7 CD, Windows Defender Offline, Windows Recovery disk all get stuck at the same place as the HDD, the Starting Windows screen
When ever I turn my computer on it is always stuck on the Starting Windows screen and when I try and do it in safe mode it works but was I am signed in all that shows up is a black screen with Safe Mode in each corner. I have also tried start up repair but it says it can not find a problem or it will just continually search for a problem (waited 4 hours then I just turned it off)
I recently purchased a Dell XPS 15 (l521x) that came with Windows 8. The system boots from the hard drive through UEFI by default, so I think the hard drive is already GPT. I am attempting to install Windows 7 from a UEFI bootable USB. The system goes through the 'copying files' phase and then goes to the Starting Windows screen. As the colored dots of the Windows logo are circling, the system freezes. Can someone help me fix this problem? The following are the steps I took in order to install Windows 7:
- Formatted a brand new 4GB USB drive to FAT32 - Downloaded Windows 7 ISO (I have a key) - Extracted ISO files to USB - Made adjustments so that USB is UEFI bootable (efi/boot/bootx64.efi) - In BIOS, set SATA Operation to AHCI and disabled Secure Boot - Select USB drive from UEFI boot menu
a week ago my windows 7 ultimate crashed in the starting screen showing the dam blue screen and warning me that windows couldn't start. I went to the self repair tool.It tool like 4 hours to fix the issue. Then it said, that windows will start normally after that. What a lie. After the starting screen I got the black screen, just with the mouse. I tried everything I know, scanning the disk surface with other computer, I used the windows 7 installation CD. And that told me it couldn't find any issue starting windows. What can I try now? This happens evenwhen I boot normally or in any safe mode.
I dropped my laptop this weekend. But it still worked for a few minutes before it froze. So I powered it off and tried to turn it back on. It turns back on just fine, but will continuously load the "Starting Windows" screen. I tried doing diagnostics and repairs, nothing. When I load it in safe mode, it loads up until the ClassPNP.sys, and then freezes.
I bought a hp laptop about a year ago and have been having a problem for the last couple days. I have windows 7 and when I go to start the laptop up it shows the HP screen then goes to the windows screen like its loading but then goes back to the hp logo and is stuck. I ran a HDD test and memory test those came back good. I tried to go into safe mode it acts like it loading then shows a blank screen. I try to do a system recovery and system restore the screen stays blank. I also took the battery out and press the power button down but that hasn't work. It's no longer under warrenty.
So I booted up my PC today and every single time it would get past the windows loading screen, a BSOD would flash on the screen for a split second and reboot. I tried booting into safe mode and that would not work either. The next step I figured would be to format and do a clean install, but here's the thing... Windows didn't even recognize my partition! It has my other 2 HDDs but not my Windows 7 partition. The HDD in question shows up in BIOS, but not in Windows. So, should I just get a new HDD? Startup Repair didn't work either, as it just hung/froze.
I recently built a computer, and tried to install Windows 7 OEM on it, but it gets stuck at the screen where it says starting windows and the logo appears. The logo gets smaller and larger. I've been told it might be something with the RAM, but tested it out and that's not the problem.
my laptop will not load up. I can get it to the screen where it says repair computer, safe mode and all that. (advance boot options) but anytime I click any off them it goes to a screen where it says I need to put in the windows installer disk. I do not have any disk but I downloaded the repair disc from my other laptop. I put the disk in the computer and restart it and it just goes back to same screen. It does not automatic rebot, or ask me to rebot from disk.
My computer after trying to (stupidly) remove the SPTD driver so Daemon Tools would work. Is stuck on the black loading screen, even when loading from safe mode.
I tried removing the sptd driver, but only took out 1 of 2 files, the other not being removed properly. So i restarted (which worked) and restored my computer to an hour before i tried any of it. I could only log on in safe mode and i checked and saw that both drivers were there. So i turn off the computer and it was fine.
However, i tried to turn on the computer again later, but it got stuck on the black screen with just the mouse. I held the power button and retried,in safe mode, this time getting to my computer background, with nothing loading. I tried yet again and only got black screen. It says all my drives loaded and everything, including sptd, but nothing is loading.
What is wrong with my computer? I am not that good with them and cannot open it up without a lot of help if it is a hardware problem
I recently upgraded my computers power supply and graphics card to brand new ones. When I oot my computer up, it is now stuck on "windows is starting" screen. When I try to boot in any of the safe modes, I load up to atipcie.sys then my computer freezes and never continues to load the rest of safe mode. When I click repair computer, I get stuck at the Blue windows screen, and as soon as it starts up a cmd box pops up then quickly closes before I could even read it. I also tried loading last working configuration but no luck. Even when I load boot recovery mode, a cmd box comes up quick then closes and continues to be stuck.
I am not trying to install Windows 7, it came on my computer and has been working fine for over a year now. I restarted my computer a few days ago (after it had been working just fine) and now it will not load past the "Setup is Starting Services" screen. I keep getting the error message "Install Windos: The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click 'OK' to restart the computer, then restart the installation." I cannot figure out why it is mentioning anything about installing windows when it came on the computer and has been working until now. I have hit "ok" and it does nothing but come back to the same stuck point. I do not have a disk for this computer as it never came with one. It is a Toshiba Satellite L455D.
Every time IE 9 finishes a download the screen keeps comming to the front of whatever else I am doing. It does not seem to matter if I have the download manager open or closed. I do not have my downloads set to notify me upon completion either. This is becoming incredibly annoying as it will pull me away from what I am working on. Is there no way to prevent it from doing this upon completion of a download?
win 7 stuck on starting windows screen after starting every time so i have to restart the sys tem severel times.i don't know pls give the solution.i'm using win7 ultimate
currently using home premium 32bit but got pro upgrade 64 bit so had to do the custom install from booting with the disk I choose the language, keyboard layout etc, choose custom install, pick the hard drive and it goes to the installing screen.
When part 2 of the install screen is almost done it said installation will continue after the computer restarts. After it restarts, it just stays on the "starting windows" screen and the windows logo never shows. It wa son there for hours. I restarted by pressing the restart button and it continued back on the step 2 and them same thing, restart and then continue later but now the screen is just stuck on the "starting windows" screen.
First time building a PC, trying to install Windows on my Crucial M4 via USB (don't have a disk drive...) and I get stuck on the "setup is starting" screen. If I try to boot with my older HDD that has Windows installed on it, I get a BSOD with error 7B.
My 2 year old $400 Acer laptop that has win 7 32 bit home edition locked up while surfing last night and I cannot get it to open.I tried safe mode it hangs up on the starting windows screen. I hit F8 and tried the launch start up repair function to no avail. When the laptop locked up the screen went off white like someone was trying to IM me and nothing opened. I pulled the battery out to shut the laptop down since I didn't like the look of what was happening and none of the buttons or other prompts would work.I have a current version of McAffe and was using Firefox.
I'm in the Midwest and thunderstorms are quite common out in this area. To protect my computer from power surges, I turn off BOTH my computer and the power supply. Then I unplug the surge protector from the socket which the computer and other peripherals are attached to. However, this morning when I plugged back the surge protector, turned on the PSU and then computer, Windows gave me a message the there was no virtual disk and then it went to a blank screen and got stuck there.
if I try to boot it normally it gets blue screen and dies. The same thing happends if I use fail safe. (crashed at crcdisk)So I thought idd reinstall it. However when i boot up from my windows cd, I only get the 2 possibilities to "setup and recovery". No matter which of those I choose it goes to "loading files" and then to "starting windows".I've reinstalled quite a few computers, with xp and windows 7, and I've never had any trouble doing so. So i thought idd try to take out the hdd manually, but I realised I dont have the cables to connect it to my other pc, and clean the hdd that way.
