View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently bought fallout 3 game of the year edition for my Samsung r580 laptop; it runs on windows 7 home premium 32bit. I have successfully installed the game and can play it for about 2-3 minutes before it crashes. Nothing can get me out of the crash except ctrl alt delete. I have gotten the updated version 1.7 but the problem still continues.
View 3 Replies View Relatedmy problem is that when i install it and go into menu, i press new game, and i goes to the loading slide, then it crashes and i can't figure out why?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 2 unusual file folders at the root of my C: drive. The names of both are alphanumeric gibberish,like:af216ca03f1720edf1e7a15b650cbd63One of the items contained therein is identified as a "Windows Installer Patch. There are numerous subfolders labeled "1042" , "1043", et. seq. Both folders are locked and i can't access any of the content even with Administrator's priveleges. These certainly look like leftovers of some kind that should be discarded.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI installed the 32 bit windows ultimate by accident which limits me to the 4 GB ram, bearing in mind i have 8 GB. As i already had my preferences and programs installed, i did not have the time to do a fresh install. So i downloaded and ran a 'patch' which changes the kernel settings? Could someone please tell me if this would be safe, or would i be expecting memory dumps in the near future?

my config is : core i5 2500 asus gtx 560 and 4gig ram.
I can play Lara Croft, Batman, but i cannot play Portal 2, Fallout 3 nor FEAR3. The games just wouldn't start. I have updated all the video card drivers, but i'm not hitting the solution of this problem.Following is the log from hijackthis:

View 7 Replies View RelatedI shut down my system after installing the latest set of Win7 patches about 3 hours ago and now it refuses to boot. Tried to restore previous points with no luck, they all give the same result as before, it simply gets to the 'loading windows' screen with no animation and just hangs there.
In repair it passes all of the tests before giving the reason for not being able to boot as "due to Windows patch", I'm at somewhat of a loss here...
This is on a completely legal copy of Win7 64.
I've just upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium from XP and while I love the OS for the most part, I am having issues with a slight stutter or hesitation when playing this game. Happens every 3-5 seconds or so and it's just a quick blip if you will. Never had any issues with this title before and I can play Borderlands and Crysis smooth as butter. Anyone know if Fallout has some issue with Windows 7?

OR should i just buy the Fallout 3 GOTY? instead? and if so would that even work?

The other day when I installed "Blazing Angels" into my laptop with Win 7 an error massage comes as " Star Force Protection driver is not compatible without a patch ". View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a spare pc with Windows 7 64bit professional (no SP1) on a ssd which I bought a year ago. Back then, it booted within 20sec or so. I noticed a slower boot time after the SP1 patch. So I assumed the patch slows the PC and so I went on with my life.
Now that I bought a new PC with a Windows 7 SP1 64bit professional DVD, I expected to have a slower boot time since SP1 was already added on the DVD. But to my surprise, it booted just as fast, around 17 sec on a fresh install. I rebooted and got the same 17 sec. Next, I updated the recommended patches. I did not install anything else that was optional, any MB drivers, GPU drivers, etc. Just plain recommended windows updates. Boot time went from 17 to 46 seconds. How can that be? If patches slow PCs, then the new DVD should have done so from the beginning.
trying to install my free Windows 7 Upgrade on a Toshiba laptop I bought about a month ago. I got all the way to the "install required components" part, and it installed all except the "Cyberlink PowerCinema for Toshiba Patch". Beside this, it says "failed", and I can't do anything or advance through the install. Anyone know where I go from here to get the update installed?

View 3 Replies View RelatedFallout 3 GoTY crashes on startup. Nothing but black screen shows up before it crashes. I bought it on Steam.I was able to play the game from disk and not GoTY, without any DLCs about a year ago on the same system - Windows 7 x64. I bought the game recently because I lost my disk. I've reinstalled Windows in the meantime once.I've got DirectX installed when launching games on Steam, also installed using a webinstall from MS website recently, so it's up-to-date. There is no other game that crashes too. My Nvidia drivers are latest version also.I've tried reinstalling the game but it still didn't work. I've tried deleting F3 folder from My Documents which also didn't help.I've tried compatibility modes and "Run as Administrator" function, neither did help.I haven't changed anything in my hardware so it's not hardware-related.
View 7 Replies View Relatedi have been spending alot of time on this problem, and everything does not seem to work. i have windows 7 home premium 64-bit, with a AMD Phenom II 945 Quad-Core processor. my graphics card is an ATI Radeon HD 5450, with an intergrated sound card and 8gb ddr3 memory. generaly, a problem arises within 20 mins of gameplay (does not matter if im outside or inside), and presents itself either as a crash-to-desktop or a freeze. also i am not playing with any mods or DLC's or with New Vegas i have tried many fixes; i have set the INI to use only 2 (then 1 processor), disabled all autosaves, downloaded/installed the d3d9 file, changed windows color scheme to "basic", i have updated all my video card drivers, i am not aware of any codecs being used on my system (did a file search, came up w/ nothing), running as administrator, allowed all premissions (its even installed in my documents, NOT program files), and even now i still have this problem. however, i can also play Oblivion w/ about 300 mods and i can play pretty comfortably. on top of that (even though i dont have the most recent games) Fallout 3 is the only problem.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am getting the following error from past 2 days :-It says "Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, and click "Next."
3. Click "Repair your Computer".
Status: 0xc0000225.
Since i dont have the recovery disc so i downloaded the one from torrent but of no use as it failed to read from the USB.
I installed Win 7 Ultimate onto my brothers Win 7 Home Edn laptop. I didn't realise at first and he has done quite a bit of work on it since the installation, on iTunes and the like. I only noticed the error when trying to activate windows and, of course, as the laptop is Home Edn, and I used an Ultimate disc it didn't take the key on the laptop. So I have now installed Home edition and have the Windows.old folder present. I basically need to put all the programs and file/folders etc into the new OS.

View 7 Replies View Relatedthe stellar customer service at Dell I have had to recently reinstall windows 7. I was running windows 7 prior to this installation and therefore those files have been moved to windows old. How do I reinstall this file? I'm assuming the process is the same as for other versions but being as I'm not that technically savvy I don't know how to change the command scripts to suit my situation.
