View 4 RepliesI had the same 3 updates continually installing everytime I logged on. They were sucessful in update history but kept comming back. I ran the system rediness tool, but it didn't help. I ran the microsoft fix it soultions for windows update normal then aggressive. Now I get this error while checking for updates. I tried to run sfc /scannow and then sfc /verifyonly but get the following error: windows resource protection could not perform the required operation. I also tried to install the latest service pack got the following error: error_sxs_componet_store_corrupt(0x80073712). When I look at programs->installed updates nothing listed, also when I look at programs->turn on/off windows features nothing listed.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAs I open windows update, and check for updates, after a while it gives me an error:
"Windows could not search for new updates. An error occured while checking for updates for your computer. Error(s) found: Code 80073712."
I have also tried Windows Readiness Tool, it doesn't fix my computer, I still can't check for updates successfully.
I have been trying to install SP1 since Apr 2011. I keep getting the error 80073712. I have been able to install all of the other updates. I have downloaded and run system readiness tool. I have run troubleshooting/fix problems with windows update I have run sfc/scannow. I have run MS Fixit as well.
I seem to have a corrupt manifest file. My laptop came windows 7 loaded so I only have recovery disks and a recovery partition. I don't want to have to do a complete recovery and have to install all my software again.
Here is the message in the checksur file.

Whenever I have tried to do the update to instal Service Pack 1 the process has always failed, giving me "error 80073712". I have tried doing some of the possible solutions found throughout the internet, including disabling anti-virus software, downloading SP1 manually and installing it on my own, attempting to install in safe mode, doing check disk, but nothing seems to work. What can I do?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble installing sp1 despite other windows updates having been flawless so far. I tried following instructions found at the Windows site but the System Update Readiness Tool didn't find any errors and repair installation aborts. Sorry to bother you with another "sp1 fail" thread but I have exhausted my search options for solution here and in other sites, which makes this request for help my last resort.

KB2633171

I have installed them numerous times.I check the update history and it says they were successful. (If that's the case why are you wanting to install again? ) Now when I try to "check for updates" I get the error 80073712.I have tried Microsoft fixit numerous times. I have tried the hotfix KB947821(also numerous times) to no avail.
I got notification 1/9 that 14 updates are available for Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit. All installed but 1. Update KB2773072 generates error code 80073712. I have re-tired multiple times each after a system reboot. The update is RECOMMENDED not critical. I can probably go without it. It appears it is related to gaming applications. I don't game. getting the update installed?

When I attempt to start it up, it starts up the Windows Error Recovery program, suggesting that I launch Startup Repair, and allowing me to start Windows normally. In both scenarios, I get the same error. When I start normally, I get the Starting Windows text, then I get a solid white bar with Windows is loading files... above it. It fills up halfway, then I get Windows Boot Manager error 0xc00000e9: An unexpected I/o Error has occurred. This computer is a stock Dell Inspiron 530s, with no new hardware devices added or removed in recent memory (other than starting from a USB stick once or twice, but not since I installed Windows 7 Pro x64 on here). How should I proceed?hould I plug in a USB stick I have Xubuntu 9.04 on and backup all his files before I do anything?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI help network and run some office locations that run two or more computers. One computer is setup as a server with specific software on it, and another or more computers are setup as workstations. When attempting to connect to a workstation computer in the network I receive the error message:Network Error Windows cannot access \ComputerName Check the spelling of the name. Otherwise, there might be a problem with your network. To try to identify and resolve network problems, click Diagnose. Error Code: 0x80070035 The Network path was not found Here are some details:I'm trying to connect to a computer running Windows XP SP3 from a different computer running Windows 7 Pro Sp1 (both machines are 32-bit). Share folders are setup correctly giving everyone and administrators full access. I'm trying to connect from an administrative account created with the same name and password on both computers. Both computers have the same subnet and similar IPs (IE, one IP is 192.168.1.1 and the other is 192.168.1.2). Both computers are on the same workgroup name. Enable TCP/IP is setup on the network adapter (versus being "Default"). TCP/IPv6 is disabled Windows Firewall is disabled on the WinXP computer, and turned off on the Windows 7 computer. Computer Browser, Server, SSDP Discovery, and TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper services are all set to Automatic startup and started. Both computers have other software anti-virus/firewall that have been disabled (for testing purposes). I can browse the shared folder on the Windows 7 computer from the WinXP computer without problem, and don't get the above error on WinXP. Other interesting facts are that I can see the WinXP computer when opening the Network browser on the Windows 7 computer, but I can't see the Windows 7 computer in the Network Places browser on the WinXP computer. Also, I can edit the HOSTS with the computer names/IPs to stop the above error message, but it's really only a bandaid to this problem.I have other services that broadcast from the Windows 7 computer via the network adapters based on the LANA number (which I have correctly setup). These broadcast information and let software on the WinXP computer work correctly. These broadcasts are not getting through as if the LANA number was setup incorrectly, even with the HOSTS file edited.
I would like to find a solution without having to edit the HOSTS file. I've been reading forum post after forum post (google search). What's frustrating is this is not the only environment I have something like this setup (Windows 7/WinXP mix), but this network is the only one I'm having issues with. I've Looked over every concievable network setting between two identical mixed OS locations and found nothing different. Yet the problem persists. The Windows 7 computer was just upgraded to Windows 7 from WinXP Also. The image used to do the upgrade is the same used at another location I compared this computer to.
seeing as it had infected my services.exe, part of the fix was to get a new copy of it, or something around those lines; this will come in to play later, I think. Anyway, its been a LONG time, my last update whenever I try running windows update, it runs for a bit and tries to receive the updates, but then stops and displays a message saying it failed to update, and gives me the error code of 80246008. I've looked this up, and I see that it possibly has something to do with the background intelligent transfer service.
View 8 Replies View Relatedi recently got a computer from my aunt, and decided to put windows 7 on it. Before I installed it, I put in a Geforce 8800 graphics card and a (2nd) cd rom drive. After 20 failed attempts to install windows 7 (it kept freezing at the completing installation part) it worked after i disconnected the new graphics card and one of the hard drives. Now, however, i keep on getting periodic blue screens with the following error messages : Memory Management, and PFN_List Corrupt. I ran a memory diagnostic and it said that the memory is fine. What is wrong with my computer? I also ran a system repair thing from the windows 7 disk, and it came up with this error: System File Integrity Check and Repair Error Code 0X490
My Hardware is:
AMD Anthlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 6000+
2 Hitachi HDT725032VLA SCSI 320 gb hard drives
Nvidia Geforce 8800 GS Graphics Card
3gb of system memory
when i click format a 150 gb partition space in disk management option i recieved the following message "An unexpected error has occurred. Check the System Event Log for more information on the error. Close the Disk Management console, then restart Disk Management or restart the computer". and the drive does not appear like other drives in MY Computer?

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently whenever I've used an .exe installer I'll get an error as soon as I click start after choosing the directory, in the picture example I include below, it's of SA-MP, but it happens with any installer I try and use. Installers have worked previously, it's only recently it's stopped working. The error is;Error opening files for writing?
What I've tried;
-Full system scan with Comodo AV.
-Revealed hidden files and folders.
-Run the installer in both compatability (Even though it does work on Windows 7, and as an Administrator).
-Also done the scan on CMD (can't remember exact command).
Brief Info:
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.
I am trying to run a certain program and it worked previously for a few days, and then today all of the sudden its giving me this error. Is this a windows thing I can try and fix? Or is it program specific (this program doesnt have much support unfortunately)
