i downloaded a disk image iso file for one of my programs. i mounted and ran the image. the setup.exe file runs fine but when i make any selction i get a "error calling shell execute. error code: 5" message and the program terminates.i tried it on a xp machine and also burned a cd but am still getting the error message

View 6 Replies View Relatedi recently got a computer from my aunt, and decided to put windows 7 on it. Before I installed it, I put in a Geforce 8800 graphics card and a (2nd) cd rom drive. After 20 failed attempts to install windows 7 (it kept freezing at the completing installation part) it worked after i disconnected the new graphics card and one of the hard drives. Now, however, i keep on getting periodic blue screens with the following error messages : Memory Management, and PFN_List Corrupt. I ran a memory diagnostic and it said that the memory is fine. What is wrong with my computer? I also ran a system repair thing from the windows 7 disk, and it came up with this error: System File Integrity Check and Repair Error Code 0X490

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had my vista pc and my windows 7 (basic) net book setup to let me share files (through an Netgear DG834PN Route) for around 18 months with no problems.
However as of 3 days ago I can no longer do this and non of the network tools can fined or solve the problem. I can uses the internet though my rooter, see my vista pc on the network as well as the media streaming (windows one) thing.
I can also access my net book hard drive from my pc no problem and transfer/delete files as well?
When I do try to connect the following error message is given: "Error code: 0x80070035 The network path was not found"
P.s. I know windows 7 basic has not create home group ability, but it worked with the one I made on vista. I can not afford to upgrade my copy of windows 7 so that is totally out of the question.
I open a file (name.txt) and select open with option and select program Notepad to open all files with the extension of .txt. After pressing enter, I receive the above message.I have run sfc.exe with the scannow option and it found no errors.I am at a loss on how to resolve this issue.

I having a popular problem 643 and I have tryied several sugestions but the problem still exist.The first of many updates that fail was on 6-10-2012 Framework4 KB2656351 plus 8 or 9 more with different numbers.I got this information by clicking on display updates, I do not know if that is the right way to get the code name for the updates or if there is other way. If there is other way to get this information please let me know, I am a work in progress.

Everything is good except I've got a yellow exclamation point over two devices under Devices & Printers. It's bugging me and even though my initial problem is fixed, I'd like everything tip top after I just put in all this work setting it back up. View 4 Replies View RelatedA while ago I had some bluescreens with the error-code F4 which I could fix by updating the SSD firmware (from 1.3.0 to 1.3.3). But since then, I sometimes have a bluescreen with the errorcode 101. The bluescreens only appear while I'm playing Battlefield 3 or sometimes when I currently play nothing; in other situations my pc just freezes and I have to use the power button. With Google I found out, that this bluescreen is caused by an error with the processor, so I ran Prime95 and watched the temperatures with SpeedFan. The temperature of the second core was 98�C so I started logging the temperature. After another bluescreen I looked in the logfile but the temperature was only around 40�C. So it seems that nothing overheats (which is also proved by the fact that the bluescreens appears while nothing runs that stresses the hardware alot).

I have tried to uninstall the driver and re-boot the machine and windows finds the hardware and I get the same error. When I updated the driver, I download the driver file, go into the extracted directory and run the setup.exe file. Then I go to the device manager and update the driver for this device and specify the directory for it to search on my hard drive. I have a GeForce 8400M GS video card and am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. My laptop is an HP dv9500z (Product GP347AV). I am running an AMD Turion 64 X2 2.2 GHz processor.
