Error : The Remote Procedure Call Failed And Did Not Execute
May 28, 2012
I keep getting the The Remote Procedure Call Failed and did not execute error when opening my control panel or windows explorer on Windows 7.I've made sure the RPC is on and that the second service is on manual so that isn't the problem.
I have just managed to crash Windows Explorer and have receivedthe following error message (no error code provided);"The remote procedure call failed and did not execute"Whenever I try and double left mouse click on computer, control panelor any other windows processes I receive the above error message.I was wondering if any other members have received this sameerror message?
When I insert USB Drive, the folder just load but its not opening at all, plus all the icon was gone. I have done scans for both malware and antivirus but none found. The only solution for this is when I remove the drive and restart the pc. I also experience this when sorting items without the usb inserted. After this problem I often get "The remote procedure call failed and did not execute." Which restart is the only option.
-Windows Vista initially installed; Dell provided a windows 7 Installation CD once it came out.
Hardware was bought ~December 2009. Installed Windows 7 once in 2010 and once earlier this year.
When I tried to make the System Health Report, it came up with "The system cannot find the specified path." I'm currently running everything from Safe Mode with networking since if I tried to boot up regularly, the system locks up with little CPU usage, explorer.exe fails and I get the error "The remote procedure call failed and did not execute" when I try to open any folder, the computer locks up again before finally BSOD.
I can't seem to open any folder using Explorer in Windows 7 RC b7100, as it fails with the above error. This happened after Explorer stopped picking up metadata on files, and so I killed and restarted explorer using Task Manager. Files and folders on my Desktop still show up, and files still open in their respective applications, but folders won't show, as with the error. Happens with any local folder.I can't find anything on Google. I haven't touched any Explorer settings, and I'm not interested in an Explorer alternative. I can restart, but this has happened once before, so I'm thinking it'll happen again after a restart.
I have this Video file, (AVI, ~12GB) that I cannot in any way modify. I can't rename it, (If I do, windows explorer crashes) I can't move or delete it (When I try it gets stuck on "Preparing" ) But I can modify all my other files. Also, when I try this, if I don't end explorer.exe's task, and close the recycling window, my hard drive goes under extreme stress and explorer uses a total I/O of over 100MB/s! It is very frustrating, and I need the space. Also, when I try to drag and drop a file onto a program, (Vegas for example) it freezes the program and the I/O spikes, and stays high. Then, when I end explorer.exe, it loads into it.
EDIT: Now my hard drive is maxed out ALL THE TIME! My computer is running slow, My Resource monitor won't load any content (Processes using disk, memory, etc) I'm positive I don't have a virus, nothing like this has happened before?"The remote procedure call failed and did not execute"
i downloaded a disk image iso file for one of my programs. i mounted and ran the image. the setup.exe file runs fine but when i make any selction i get a "error calling shell execute. error code: 5" message and the program terminates.i tried it on a xp machine and also burned a cd but am still getting the error message
I am running Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium service pack 1,64 bit and having problems opening a downloaded file. The Wizard seems to download okay, it is when I attempt t open the file the problems start. The message appears stating:
"unable to execute files", "CreateProcess Failed -Code 740" "The requested Operation Requires Elevation"
I have tried closing Microsoft FireFox firewall And to run as administrator, even compatibility mode, but nothing works.I sometimes get a message:"Application Error"-"The Application was unable to start correctly (oxcoooooo5)
I have bought a Dell Inspiron N5110 recently in Feb 2012, with following specifications: i7 processor, 750 GB HDD, 4GB RAM, 1GB NVidia GT525M Graphics Card. It has Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1. I installed Intel Graphics driver and the nvidia graphics driver version given along with the laptop. (Version 268.30)
After installation in my Device manager there are two graphic cards shown: 1) Intel HD Graphics Family 2) NVIDIA GeForce GT 525 M
The NVIDIA GeForce shows as Code 43 error stating "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" in Device status. When I tried opening the NVIDIA control panel it says "You are currently not using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU". Then I installed Call of Duty - MW3 Game and the performance of the game is not so great. I visited nvidia website and searched for graphics driver updates and found the newer version (296.10).
I downloaded and installed it. This time the Code 43 error didn't happen and the control panel also is working. But after installing new driver, I tried playing the game again and this time the system gave the BSOD error. I tried changing the settings so that my game takes only the NVIDIA processor but still it gave BSOD error while modifying the settings in NVIDIA control panel.
Then I tried the following combinations and none worked: 1) Intel Graphics + NVIDIA old version - Code 43 error 2) Intel Graphics + NVIDIA new version - BSOD error 3) Intel Graphics Disabled + NVIDIA any version - Bad graphics with 800 X600 resolution. Game didn't even start. 4) Intel Graphics uninstalled + NVIDIA any version - Bad graphics with 800 X600 resolution. Game didn't even start.
Even my HD movies/half HD movies in my laptop stutter sometimes and I have no clue why it happens. My Laptop is still under warranty and I would like to know what should be the solution for my problem. Please find attached memory dump description folder as mentioned in the rules. I tried generating the performance report but it gave an error stating "error in generating the report".
Video Calls in MSN Messenger wont work on my laptop, it is an Acer Aspire One running Windows 7 Ultimate. It shows error code 0x8ac70013 which I have tried to find answers to online and haven't found anything which applies to my situation. I do not have MacAfee or Norton, I am using AVG antivirus. I have tried tweaking the Windows firewall permissions but it hasn't helped. It works just fine on my desktop, which is an old Dell with Windows XP.
I have a access database with about 17000 contacts.I email reports to customers through access which then goes through outlook.Recently this has stopped working and i am receiving the error -2147418107 (80010005)It is illegal to call out while inside message filter. The database is about 400MB is size so i tried using the compact and repair database option but had no luck. Sometimes i will receive this error and other times it will just hang..The error happens on other computers at the workplace as well so its not isolated to a single computer
When i am remote desktoping to one of our terminal servers from windows 7 and then shadowing a users session as soon as i connect to the users session via Terminal Services Manager I get the following error:'Because of a protocol error, this session will be disconnected. please try connecting to the remote computer again.'It appears to be a problem with windows 7 remote desktop, as i also have XP and Vista machines which i do the same on but they work fine!
I can't connect to the remote VPN. I did it successfully 1 week ago, when using XP. Verifying username and password stays too long and after that this error occurs. I've tried many things, but none of them worked. It is 100% sure that I enter the correct username, password and domain name.
An error message has been bugging my lately, rather since I started using programs which use the remote access connection manager. One of them is songbird (the fire-foxy media player) which cannot listen to shared music, and SecondLife which uses it to make http calls, both of which make up pretty major parts of my day to day.
The actual error reads: "Network Connections Cannot load the remote access connection manager service. Error 711: the operation could not finish because it could not start the remote access connection manager service in time. Please try the operation again."
I found this weblink on microsoft support which explains that windows is stupid and I should load the following dependent services manually. Telephony Remote Access Connection Manager Remote Access Auto Connection Manager
Telephony on my computer is already running, the Remote Access Auto Connection Manager depends on Remote Access Connection Manager, when I try to start the Remote Access Connection Manager service I get the error message: "Services Windows could not start the remote access connection manager service on local computer. Error 1068: The dependancy Service or group failed to start."
The Remote Access Connection Manager depends on Telephony (already running) and Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol Service. When I try to manually start the Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol Service I get the following informative message: "Services The Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol Service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs."
I have used Windows 7 build 7057. But in that I was having problem that it keeps giving error 711 (cant load Remote Access Service Connection Manager) whose soln provided on net doesnt work as 'secure socket tunneling protocol' service starts and stops automatically and other services are dependent on it. So the only soln is to reinstall windows. So I switched to XP again and this problem doesnot occur in it.
Now I wasnt to ask that was that some build related problem or other coz i want to install Windows 7 RC now. If anyone have soln to that problem than plz provide it.
I know there have been a number of posts on this subject but I have been unable to find a solution. I have 2 Windows 7 machines, both running SP1.
My HP Pavilion is running 64-bit and my Dell Latiude E6400 is running 32-bit. I can successfully RDP from my Dell and even my Apple iPad (via an RDP client) into my HP Pavilion. However, the problem is that when I try to RDP from my Pavilion into my Dell I get connected but all I see is a BLACK from the Dell machine. The only thing i can see is the Status bar at teh top telling me that i am connected. A few moments later I get a popup message telling me that the machines have failed to communicate.
I have confirmed that RDP settings are identical on the Pavilion and Dell. I have even downgraded the Dell NVIDIA graphics driver to an older version based on the recommended version on the Dell support web site.
I am using Windows 7 Pro 64bit, trying to use Windows remote desktop to connect to another PC in the LAN and install software. Right click on the .exe and choose run as admin. As soon as I do that I get a black screen with 2 white bars in the upper left hand corner(looks like a pause button). The user who's pc I am connected to sees the log inbox for the admin creds, how ever I can not get to it. How can I make that screen stop popping up?
I had a small problem with my laptop a few days back ,but it was fixed when I removed and inserted the battery. But the F drive was renamed to D drive automatically. I think this was the cause of the following errors, which i noticed when I tried to use my Reliance Netconnect+ datacard and Error 711 (Cannot load the Remote Access Connection Manager Service) showed up.I tried system restore but i noticed it was disabled and so there were no restore points.A little research showed that Now I have the following errors: I cannot start Remote Access Connection Manager (Error 2:Cannot find the specified file) and cant start Remote Access Auto Connection Manager (Error 1068: The dependency or group failed to start). Both services are set to manual.(Target file is svchost.exe -k netsvcs).
What happened: At the very end of installing RC Windows 7, I got a "failed to upgrade" message, and then it said my system would automatically revert back to Vista, which it did (thankfully).
I have already uninstalled Windows OneCare (virus protection). However, when Windows 7 was installing, my Spyware Doctor opened up and I had to click "yes" on it for the Spyware Doctor box to go away. Do you think that could have caused the upgrade to fail? I had turned off Spyware Doctor, but I'm thinking I should uninstall it before trying Windows 7 again. What do you all think?
We have several remote systems that can all connect fine. I am having an issue with one box. It is a windows 7 home premium machine with netgear wireless nic. When I open mstsc to connect to a remote machine I put in the ip address and click on connect.I receive an immediate failure with the text "This computer can't connect to the remote computer. Try connecting again...blah blah"I have a server 2008 r2 with Network level authentication enabled. I have 8 other systems that are hardwired, at different geographic locations and all connect fine. I have not made any changes on the server side since this problem seems to be local to this client only. On the client I have made the following changes/observations. I have disabled the firewall, cleared the remote desktop cache, remove the MRU entries from the registry, verified that port 3389 is open via telnet. I have been bashing my head for days trying to figure out why this one box is not working. The problem occurs for every user on the box including the admin.I don't receive the box that prompts for warning if there is a server authentication issue but I think that is because I selected ignore at some point and said yes to continue. I'm not sure where that cache resides to delete that selection.
I am thinking of re installing window 7 onto my laptop, which currently is on window 7, but of a different language. I would like to install an english version of window 7.
Let me start by saying that I'm a neophite when it comes to issuses of anything other than turning the computer on. It appears to me that when a Microsoft update was installed it obviously changed something. I keep getting an error message that reads:[CODE]
I have tried installing Windows 7 in Virtual PC and on my HP 2133 netbook. Both halt when in the copy file stage with this error message:
Windows cannot copy files required for installation. The files may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070241 I have downloaded the iso's again (from the Microsoft partner site) in case there was a corrupt download, but I get the same error.
The VPC image was using the ISO directly, and I copied the files from the iso to a usb drive for the netbook install. Anyone else see this?
I'm trying to restore my system with recovery cd. The system disc takes but when I put in the first recovery disc it stops and says Restore failed - Error code=1005(the volume does not catain a recognized file system. Please make sure that all required file system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not corrupted.)
only when playing solitare on a new dell laptop, if I let the game sit for a couple min without playing an error pops up saying "failed to create directx" can anyone help me out here?
When addressing an email, I begin by clicking on "to". Then the list of contacts appears and I have to click on the contact's name, select from "to/Cc/Bcc" and then click on the 'okay'. This seems to me to be a rather laborious procedure. Is there a way to modify WLM to simplify the addressing procedure. For example, after selecting (to/cc/bcc), a single click on the contact adds the addressee without having to move the cursor over to the far end to hit "OK"?
