Error 711: Cant Load Remote Access Service Connection
Nov 24, 2009when i try to connect on the network i found this message in front of me
''error 711 (cant load Remote Access Service Connection Manager)''
when i try to connect on the network i found this message in front of me
''error 711 (cant load Remote Access Service Connection Manager)''
I have used Windows 7 build 7057. But in that I was having problem that it keeps giving error 711 (cant load Remote Access Service Connection Manager) whose soln provided on net doesnt work as 'secure socket tunneling protocol' service starts and stops automatically and other services are dependent on it. So the only soln is to reinstall windows. So I switched to XP again and this problem doesnot occur in it.
Now I wasnt to ask that was that some build related problem or other coz i want to install Windows 7 RC now. If anyone have soln to that problem than plz provide it.
An error message has been bugging my lately, rather since I started using programs which use the remote access connection manager. One of them is songbird (the fire-foxy media player) which cannot listen to shared music, and SecondLife which uses it to make http calls, both of which make up pretty major parts of my day to day.
The actual error reads: "Network Connections
Cannot load the remote access connection manager service.
Error 711: the operation could not finish because it could not start the remote access connection manager service in time. Please try the operation again."
I found this weblink on microsoft support which explains that windows is stupid and I should load the following dependent services manually.
Telephony
Remote Access Connection Manager
Remote Access Auto Connection Manager
Telephony on my computer is already running, the Remote Access Auto Connection Manager depends on Remote Access Connection Manager, when I try to start the Remote Access Connection Manager service I get the error message: "Services Windows could not start the remote access connection manager service on local computer.
Error 1068: The dependancy Service or group failed to start."
The Remote Access Connection Manager depends on Telephony (already running) and Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol Service. When I try to manually start the Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol Service I get the following informative message: "Services
The Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol Service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs."
I had a small problem with my laptop a few days back ,but it was fixed when I removed and inserted the battery. But the F drive was renamed to D drive automatically. I think this was the cause of the following errors, which i noticed when I tried to use my Reliance Netconnect+ datacard and Error 711 (Cannot load the Remote Access Connection Manager Service) showed up.I tried system restore but i noticed it was disabled and so there were no restore points.A little research showed that Now I have the following errors: I cannot start Remote Access Connection Manager (Error 2:Cannot find the specified file) and cant start Remote Access Auto Connection Manager (Error 1068: The dependency or group failed to start). Both services are set to manual.(Target file is svchost.exe -k netsvcs).

I have been trying for a very long time to set up a Remote Desktop Connection to my work server, and am unable to set it up and connect. The network administrator gave me the IP address for the server and I have double checked that it is correct. He told me not to add anything else to the number when I set it up, but Windows Remote Desktop Connection setup wizard says it must have "https://" before the IP number so I put that in.I always get this error: Quote: An error occurred. I can use remote control between 2 of them, but I can not connect from any of those two to the third one. This morning I was working in eplorer to move some files, and Windows 7 asked me if I wanted to turn on filtering mode, and I confirmed.
Now when I use my remote desktop session from a windows xp machine that has always worked, I now only have control with my mouse, but no more keyboard input.
I do not know if the filtering mode has anything to do with it, but I cannot figure out why I cannot use my keyboard anymore in RDP. Funny thing is, it DOES work when I login to windows 7, I can type my password but when the desktop is there, I cannot use the keyboard anymore..
Any suggestions anyone?

On VAIO I installed Windows 7. On SCALEO I installed both Windows XP and Windows 7 as dual boot configuration. The Windows 7 version I am using is the free downloadable evaluation installation of Windows 7 Enterprise. Both installations are activated. When I run Windows XP on SCALEO (and Windows 7 on VAIO), I can establish RDC between both computers, both ways, without any problems. When I run Windows 7 on SCALEO (hence, on both machines), establishing RDC fails on either machine with the following message:"Your credentials did not work. The credentials that were used to connect to ... (VAIO/SCALEO) did not work. Please enter new credentials."I have followed all instructions in the tutorial of this forum how to set up a computer for remote desktop connection. I can see both machines in their network folders. I successfully established a homegroup where both machines share data. I am able to share folders on both machines and map them as network drives. I am able to copy data between both machines.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having some trouble with remote desktop connection. I have successfully configured my desktop to remotely access it. But every time I start up remote desktop connection it prompts me to "Save File As ... *.xps". The application is driven by the mstsc.exe process, so it starts up when I start my remote session. If I try to save it, it immediately prompts me again for the same thing. Also my One Note Application starts up on my client pc (Laptop) and is also triggered by the RDP connection process.
Here is what I have already tried:
- Tried to just end the Save As .. Application thru windows task manager, but since it is driven by the mstsc.exe, It also closes the remote session
- I Also checked my remote desktop settings on my laptop to check and see if there are any programs listed to start up when I connect, but no progams are set!
Also every once in a while it actually starts up without the prompt and I actually experience a perfect and smooth remote session!

We have 2 printers (one color, one b/w) in our office and 4 local computers.
The printers are connected by USB to one of the computers (a PC running XP) and they are shared on the local network. All of the 4 local computers can print to either printer with no problem.
The problem is that when I use remote desktop connection from one of the PCs (the only one that has Windows 7) I can only print to 1 of the 2 printers (the color).
When I use remote desktop connection from any of the other 3 computers then I have no problem printing to either printer.
I've tried speaking to the IT guys who run our offsite server and they have been no help (despite being expensive) so I'm trying to troubleshoot as much stuff on my end as possible to avoid spending a crazy amount on them. what I can check, or what other information I can provide to make diagnosing this problem easier?
