Everytime I attempt to install software (java, for example) via remote, I receive the Interactive Service Detection pop up on the target computer(s). Could someone give me a better description of what ISD is, and can I disable it in services? I would rather remote install software on multiple machines at one time then manually on each

I can stop the process in Task Manager, but it will show up after a while.And I checked on services.msc, the "Interactive Services Detection" has a manual startup type.

Message title: Windows Internet Explorer
Program path: C:Windowszsystem32IEFRAME.dll
When I view the message it takes me to a blank desktop with an internet explorer window prompting me to fill in a survey on my printer.
Since I have no time or interest in filling this out, what can I do to make Windows shut up on this matter? I have no idea if this is a malware related problem or not since scans are not showing up suspcicuous files.
I use W7 + SP1. I tried to update my Apli Master 6 program but for some reason it did not install properly. I tried to uninstall the partly installed program but this failed to happen. Now, I keep getting a pop-up notice from the ISD with a 'runtime error' message. I tried to stop the ISD by going to C/Control Panel/Admin Tools/Services/ Interactive Services Detector and stopping it. However it keeps reappearing with the same message, and will not stay "Stopped." How can I disable it completely?

I have used Windows 7 build 7057. But in that I was having problem that it keeps giving error 711 (cant load Remote Access Service Connection Manager) whose soln provided on net doesnt work as 'secure socket tunneling protocol' service starts and stops automatically and other services are dependent on it. So the only soln is to reinstall windows. So I switched to XP again and this problem doesnot occur in it.
Now I wasnt to ask that was that some build related problem or other coz i want to install Windows 7 RC now. If anyone have soln to that problem than plz provide it.
I know there have been a number of posts on this subject but I have been unable to find a solution. I have 2 Windows 7 machines, both running SP1.
My HP Pavilion is running 64-bit and my Dell Latiude E6400 is running 32-bit. I can successfully RDP from my Dell and even my Apple iPad (via an RDP client) into my HP Pavilion. However, the problem is that when I try to RDP from my Pavilion into my Dell I get connected but all I see is a BLACK from the Dell machine. The only thing i can see is the Status bar at teh top telling me that i am connected. A few moments later I get a popup message telling me that the machines have failed to communicate.
I have confirmed that RDP settings are identical on the Pavilion and Dell. I have even downgraded the Dell NVIDIA graphics driver to an older version based on the recommended version on the Dell support web site.
I am using Windows 7 Pro 64bit, trying to use Windows remote desktop to connect to another PC in the LAN and install software. Right click on the .exe and choose run as admin. As soon as I do that I get a black screen with 2 white bars in the upper left hand corner(looks like a pause button). The user who's pc I am connected to sees the log inbox for the admin creds, how ever I can not get to it. How can I make that screen stop popping up?

But that same pop up continuously appeared and I accidentally clicked yes. The computer froze so I forced shut down and whrn I tried to turn it on again, the BSOD appeared. It turned off a second time and then when it restared, the safe mode window appeared and I ran that and it tried to fix the problem but now whenever I try to get on, there is a black screen with a window that says" interactive logon process has failed. View 9 Replies View RelatedWe have several remote systems that can all connect fine. I am having an issue with one box. It is a windows 7 home premium machine with netgear wireless nic. When I open mstsc to connect to a remote machine I put in the ip address and click on connect.I receive an immediate failure with the text "This computer can't connect to the remote computer. Try connecting again...blah blah"I have a server 2008 r2 with Network level authentication enabled. I have 8 other systems that are hardwired, at different geographic locations and all connect fine. I have not made any changes on the server side since this problem seems to be local to this client only. On the client I have made the following changes/observations. I have disabled the firewall, cleared the remote desktop cache, remove the MRU entries from the registry, verified that port 3389 is open via telnet. I have been bashing my head for days trying to figure out why this one box is not working. The problem occurs for every user on the box including the admin.I don't receive the box that prompts for warning if there is a server authentication issue but I think that is because I selected ignore at some point and said yes to continue. I'm not sure where that cache resides to delete that selection.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a new asus laptop and after some issues with it i decided to format and clean install the OS. It came with windows 7 home premium 64-bit. I went out and bought windows 7 Pro 64bit and attempted an install. The installation went through smoothly til the end where I received the message "interactive logon has failed, please consult the event log ..." after this message it rebooted and attempted a start-up only to be met with a strange gray screen and then it reboots again.
Nothing else works like safe mode, or advanced boot options. Ive tried installing several times with with the same result. Now whats weird is that when I install a 32-bit version of this there's no problems, except that its designed for a 64 and runs slowly. So why would I be able to install a 32bit version of windows and not a 64 bit? Even though all the hardware is for a 64??
I recently received a new ASUS Eee PC running Windows 7 Starter. It started fine the first 3 or 4 times I have tried to use it, but now, I am receiving this error message: "Interactive logon process initialization has failed. Please consult the event log for more details". I get the same message in safe mode, and the Repair Your Computer and Last Known Good Configuration options do not work. The computer has not created a system restore point, and I could not burn a system image due to lack of a burner (I have an external one on order).

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a PC that dual boots both XP and 7. Yesterday, I restarted my computer to go from 7 to XP to play a game, all fine and dandy so far. When I came back onto windows 7, the Windows intro logo loads, disappears as usual, but instead of loading by desktop, I get :
"Interactive logon process initialization has failed. Please consult the event log for more details."
So I decided to go check my event log. I booted on XP, went to G:WindowsSystem32winevtLogs, copied the file : Application.evtx to my USB key, and opened it up on another Win 7 system to check it out. I thought I could find the error, but I can't get any logs out of the event log. The last entry being a month ago for some reason. I want to avoid formatting my Win 7 partition at all costs. Also :
- Safe mode doesn't work
- System restore doesn't work
- System repair doesn't work.
I've tried almost everything so far. I do in fact have complete access to my G: partition, which is my Windows 7 partition.

Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networks
Safe Mode using command prompt
Logon normally
I tried all 4 of them if atleast any of these allows me to login, but none worked. I referred to the solutions and fixes available on the internet, but all of them says that I need to press F8, enter into a safe mode and operate the issue from there. But even pressing F8 doesn't make any change.
i would like my autoplay settings to be un-change-able to anyone but myself. This means if an app is installed and tries to take control of an autoplay event, it gets an error code and the setting remains unchanged. If, however, I use the control panel to change a setting then it is allowed and the change goes through.
Is there a permission that can be added or removed from a registry key that controls autoplay settings for my user? (win 7 home premium x64)
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate on HP Pavilion DV2000 laptop.I found that some DVD's won't play on the machine. In My Computer folder, the F: drive does not change even if I insert a DVD. There is no issue about playing CDs and some DVDs. I found that the DVDs which refuse to get detected are mostly commercial DVDs.Is it an issue about DVD region?The drive is 'hl-dt-st dvdram gsa-t20l ata' and it was by default coded to Region 2 (though I live in Region 5 - India). I tried to change the region but I was not successful. I then installed region killer and now the default region is region 5. However, even this has failed to detect the DVD.

Take about 2 hours to hook the thing up and press the power button and expect the greatest, but to my dismay I receive the error "Interactive Login Process Initialization failed". But after the install when I boot to windows if both monitors aren't "on" when I boot it won't detect the second monitor when I turn it on. I have to boot with both monitors on for it to detect both of them.

i have connected my monitors via displayport to my computer. displayport is very nice, but it has one feature that is - in combination with windows vista/7 - very bad. displayport specification says that if a device (Monitor) will be turned off (standby) it will not be visible to the computer anymore. that is very annoying because windows has a routine which permanently checks if all monitors are still connected. if one monitor will be physicly disconnected, then windows will reorganize the desktop (all content that was on the disconnected screen will be moved to the others). if the monitor will be turned on again windows will move the windows back to the place where it has been before, but often it does not work correctly.

Now when I start the computer up it says "the user profile service service failed the login, user profile cannot be loaded". The computer starts up in safe mode and won't let me do a system restore because it says it is shut off.When I look at User Profiles in Windows 7, it states that the users profile is as backup and the default profile is the local profile. How can I fix my computer to get my user profile back up and working?

I checked under Devices and Printers and there's a Power Saving USB icon which keeps flashing on and off.
I am using HCL ME 74 series laptop with win 7 OS 32 bit. recently my OS crashed and I reinstalled the OS. surprisingly there are no netwrok controllers in my device anager. the network adpters give by HCL have been used. But the system is detecting the wifi networks all around but not connecting. The HCL ME series gives some funny buttons to press: set wifi enable -> Fn+F11, and bluetooth -> fn+F12 . both are enables.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been testing AVAST 4.2 fairly rigorously on both VISTA X-64 and Windows 7 7100 X-64.
Straight from the MS site I downloaded the .VHD Virtual disks (XP compatability mode)
AVAST reports that the .VHD file contains a "COMPRESSION BOMB". Now this doesn't actually tell me what this is -- but the fact that it reports something with the word BOMB in it means it can't be good.
Now as this VHD file was downloaded from the official Microsoft site I assume it HAS to be OK (or does it - I would imagine MS regularly checks its own websites - there's plenty of people out there who'd jump at a chance of attacking a MS site if they could).
I'm going to download the XP comparability mode again and have another scan.
VISTA again reports the file as CLEAN) so I think there still might be a couple of things AVAST need to fix in Windows 7 when reading compressed or "archive" type files.
