The computer goes blank right after Windows starts up as it's supposed to go to the login screen, and the cursor was the only thing to appear. My answer to everything is to basically reinstall Windows 7 and start over, but after inserting the disc, begining the installation, and going through most of the motions....after Windows restarts again the screen goes black. Before I tried to reinstall Windows I was able to use the computer in Safe Mode, but after the reinstallation failed I can't reach safe mode. I can't seem to find a way to finish the installation.
I have a Acer laptop that is currently running build 7068 (specs available at the side there for full info). Since build 7000 I have been doing update installs, which have worked find (save a few glitches here and there), and I wanted to do a clean install of build 7100. However, when i boot from CD or USB pen, as soon as the Windows Logo disappears, the mouse cursor appears for a second (against a black screen), and then all I get is a completely blank screen, no disc accesses, CD accesses, nothing.
If I do the install from within Windows (again a clean install), the files copy across okay, but as soon as it rebooots during expanding, I get the same again, a blank screen and nada!!!!
I'm not sure if it's the graphics card at fault, or what, but surely if the beta build had enough drivers, this should. Could anyone suggest anything that may help?
I bought a version of W7 Home Premium. I was running XP before, put in windows 7, backed up my files on external USB, formatted my drive and proceeded with a fresh install. After installation and first startup, I see the windows 7 load screen, then all I see is a blank screen.
I've tried to run a repair but it can't fix it. I've tried running in Safe Mode but it won't because it says it hasn't completed installation yet. I've unplugged all USB devices except for my KB and mouse. Still just a blank screen. Can anyone help?
I installed win 7 on my laptop. After completing the instalation, I started with update all drivers through device manager. When monitor software was finished with updating, monitor have had a black screen. There is no signs of life after many times of switching off the laptop on switch button.
I have tried to remove drivers in safe mode, but f8 or f10 on starting up does not run. Simply, screen is black, as it is no part of laptop.
Model of laptop is fujitsu siemens, model of monitor is samsung.

I have AMD X2 4600+M2N68 AM SE + 2gb Trancend 667 Mhz Ram.I am unable to install any version of win 7 on this config..Should anyone will guide in this problem?
I've installed Ubuntu 11.04 on my notebook ASUS U36SD. It worked perfectly fine for 4 months. Recently, I decided to install the last version of Ubuntu, 11.11. From now, Windows 7 doen't want to boot: It freezes at the boot screen. I tried to use the repair mode, but it failed. I also tried the safe mode. It still does't boot and freeze when loading CLASSPNP.SYS.
I have a copy of Windows 7 ultimate..x86 and x64. I tried to install it to a blank HDD. It gets through the select which bit to install, and what language, and does the partition bit. It gets to the install and gets stuck on the gathering files. Then shows a message that allocated file are not available. I remade my disk, and started my computer..but it doesn't boot the install, it shows the error:
BOOTMGR not found Press ctrl, alt + del to restart
After leaving my comp on overnight i wake up to non-responding programs, i shut down manually and then as i restart this happens. 5minute lag on welcome screen and then it turns blue with a moveable cursor. i have used system restore and created a new user but neither works. i can run perfectly on safe mode.
I recently built a new rig and I had a problem with one stick of memory. The other stick worked alright, but I've been getting random failures. Can bad memory be inconsistent? Right now, I can't start my OS up at all. It goes straight to the Windows Repair Launcher, which fails. When it gets there, I can either find a restore point or let it 'attempt to fix' for as long as I can endure. The restore point option results in 'instruction xxx failed. memory reference xxx failed.'This leads me to believe there is a problem with the memory. But, could it be the motherboard? I played a video game for hours last night, as well as surfed the web and ran other applications. Everything was fine, until I shut down. This isn't the first time this happened. Last time, I 'fixed' it by switching the 'good' memory stick with the bad. The bad resulted in getting the OS up, but lots of BSOD's
[code] I am using a single Seagate 250gb HDD and a bog standard LG CD drive and have removed my networking and graphics card in an attempt to rectify the issue. My problem is in the first time windows7 Professional 64bit installation. The machine powers does immediately after the the 'Loading Windows' screen every time without fail.
ive recently re-installed windows 7 64-bit on our laptop and since i have 2 programs I installed (Dreamweaver CS5 and Foobar2000) have not had an image/picture for their icons. They just show the default image for exe (a blank sheet of paper with a window inside)why does this happen? ive installed many other apps that have been fine - I fixed Dreamweaver with an app but i forgot what it was--summit to allows to change icons in EXE files.
I downloaded some new drivers and updating everything was going good my screen went black my resolution went down then it went black again. it just stayed black then i got the blue screen and i cant start up windows.
Everything shows up fine until the welcome screen after that it normally used to fade to the desktop but now it goes blank. The screen in Black with only the mouse pointer. Its not hung, i can move the mouse pointer. Then after a minute or so it advances to the desktop. Everything on the desktop loads up in less than 5s. The PC runs fine, it is really fast as there are only a few programs, but only boots slow. My total boot time is about 3-5 min. I think it should be like in a minute or so.I have not tweaked much with the system but have installed a few programs like MS office, Nero, Acrobat and Photoshop. These are the only heavy programs in the PC right now. The only games on the PC are AC1 and AC2. I have uninstalled my graphic driver and reinstalled. I already minimized the programs in the msconfig>startup to the minimum. I have run ccleaner, spybot s&d, Antimalware and i also have a trial copy of Kaspersky AV (upgrading later to 1-year license). there are no peripherals attached during boot except the USB keyboard and mouse. A printer is attached too but is most of the time turned off.
Since early August all my Security updates have been failing. It adds time to each boot up period as it goes through the updates and then at the end will say it's failed and is reverting all the changes. I have already done some research on this issue and ran "sfc/scannow" as well as "chkdsk/f/r." Both seemed to go through with no problems. After that I did a Windows update and 12 updates seemed to go through with no problem until the required reboot where we're back to the same issue of failing and reverting.
I have Dell studio series 1558,I have two issues: After Powering on the laptop and inputting the password for login to Windows 7, I get a black screen with the Mouse cursor active. In the background the login seems to have happened but I don't get to see the Desktop. When i open any program or web page, e.g. yahoo messenger, the messenger/webpage display is very small, i had to manually enlarge it to view properly, i tried changing my screen resolution, but didnt work.
After I turn on my laptop Dell starts and it says her resuming windows and then goes to a blank screen with my cursor. I removed the battery and held the power button but don't know what else to do. I don't have a restore disk. I'm running windows 7.
I seem to have a odd issue with my laptop. Sometimes when i boot into windows there would be a blank screen with a mouse cursor after the starting windows screen. I would have to wait for approximately 5 minutes for it to show up my logon screen. I've been having this issue since the start of the year and have attempted to solve it but they have been unsuccessful. Things i've tried:Reformat Windows (Did it 4 times)Purchasing a SSDReduced the start-up items(barely any)?
I started the machine today and after the welcome screen the screen becomes blank and i get a black screen for about 30 seconds.then i get the task bar and after about 10 seconds i get the desktop.

Display: 1.Mobile PC Display Resolution: 1920*1080 (recommended) Orientation: Landscape.
I opened up my PC to move the front audio cable so that it wasn't sitting on the graphics card (was causing EM interference). When I tried to reboot, my computer now gets to the windows loading screen, then stops outputting video - so the monitor goes blank and eventually turns off. Windows continues to load in the background as I can hear the startup sound play.
1) Booting into safe mode (works fine, can view the desktop etc.)
2) Booting into low resolution mode (doesn't work, same issue)
3) Booting into safe mode, un-installing the graphics card, booting into normal mode and reinstalling drivers for graphics card (doesn't work, same issue)
4) Trying a different PCI-E slot (doesn't work, same issue)
5) Trying a different output on the graphics card (doesn't work, same issue)
6) Hard CMOS reset (doesn't work, same issue)
7) Trying a different graphics card (even worse, didn't get any video out even at BIOS screen - can't guarantee card is working as I don't have a second machine to test with but it was working the last time I used it a couple of months ago. Second card was ATI rather than Nvidia so shouldn't be using same drivers).
Things I intend to try but haven't had time:
1) Plugging into a different monitor (heard some people mentioning it may be to do with the monitor drivers not reporting max screen settings properly, I could find any windows 7 x64 drivers for my monitor as its so old but I do have a TV I can test with)
I let computer downlod updates for windows 7 and then when I hit restart like it said I had to for updates to be complete the screen went blank and the computer justs sits with a black screen. Because it is a laptop I can't power it off and when I try to hit the power button nothing happens. How do I get the computer to start again?
I recently used one key recovery for my lenovo laptop, after restoring, the windows logo is shown but after that my system goes into blank screen mode although the audio can be heard. But when i try with safe mode then i am able to see the screen, what can be the issue??
HP G60 laptop, after the unit has been on for 10min or more it has a random issue with the display going blank. If you move the mouse the display comes back as long as the mouse is moving. Stop moving the mouse the display goes blank. Sometimes if you let it sit awile it will start working again. It is now so bad the computer is not useable. It has McAfee protection and I run system fix it utilities 11.
I'm trying to install Windows 7 on my PC again, and came to a blank screen after the reboot. I have the PC hooked up to a TV using the S-Video output on my graphics card, and suspect that win 7 is using the DVI port instead. There is no way at the moment that I can use the DVI port because I don't have a monitor that supports it.
is there a way around this so I can use the S-video output for the rest of the installation?
I'm trying to install Windows 7 on a new SSD, my old hard drive crashed. My video card is an onboard ATI Radeon HD 4250. Initial setup works fine, but when the computer reboots it comes back up blank. I'm already running two monitors, one VGA and one DVI, and safe mode doesn't work either, I've tried booting from a flash drive and a dvd with exactly the same results.
I am using windows 7 ultimate on my samsung laptop. today I tried to install ubuntu in dual boot mode with my windows 7. I installed ubuntu 12.04 on e drive( mounted as ext 4) and 1.5 gb of swap partition..the installation went smooth but when I restart I get a blank screen with crusor blinking?
I've run into a problem that's preventing Windows 7 from loading normally. The problem starting happening yesterday, when my computer froze up while I was surfing AGV antivirusver since then, I cannot make it past the "Starting Windows" screen. Afterwards, instead of going to the "Loading" screen, my screen goes to blank.Since I could still bring up safe mode, I've tried the following things, with either no success, or Windows can't detect anything wrong:1. Performed a System Restore to a day earlier.2. Startup Repair didn't detect anything wrong.
