Allocating More Memory To Mine-craft?
Feb 10, 2012I have 4GB of RAM and it uses maybe half a gig. I use an extensive amount of mods and I know that it'll lag the game and cause it to crash. After doing some research I've seen some people allocating more memory to minecraft by creating a .bat file and inserting this coding (assuming I am using the correct words. Feel free to correct me):java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar "C:UsersAdrianDesktopMinecraft.exe" when i run it, I can only get it to run up to 1524. anything further and it says in CMD:
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Could not create the Java virtual machine.
Gateway Icon Not Mine
Oct 13, 2011I had problems accessing the internet through laptop last evening. I noted that another network was active. When I went to Network and Sharing Center and clicked on network icon our home computers were shown but the other active network's gateway showed up. I was able to click on its properties and see its mac address etc. I called my provider and their tech section is looking into it. I have an admin password and running encryptation with a password key on my 2 wrie gateway. Does anyone have an idea as to what could be the cause of the other home network gateway showing up in our home network?

It works great in ANY PC except mine - It picks up the USB drive but shows it as if it has a raw file format - cannot open the flash drive but it shows up on my comp. Now you might think my PC it the problem, which it probably is, but all other USB hardware (including OTHER flash drives) works fine on my PC. Why does my PC not detect it properly?

Nov 29, 2009I have a linksys WMP110 running on a gigabyte M55SLIS4 motherboard every time i try to connect to a wireless connection with the card the OS reboots, But i took the card and installed it on my friend mother running the same release of windows 7 and it worked completely fine no reboot not at all and he ran it for more than a week .

Dec 23, 2009Lately My laptop has been going slow, I don't Know why and very hard to manage it exemple if I want to open my computer i Need to wait Like 10 secs or more while when on vista it was like 3 secs (same for windows 7 when I installed it) but Now I need alot of time and my CPU keeps Loading I don't know why even when i am not doing anything. Someone suggested that I put something to cool it down but it didn't work so far for me.

Mar 1, 2012I am running Windows 7. Everything was running fantastic and life was free of tensions. But now my laptop has started behaving like a tortoise. But in the regular Windows, it takes forever and the internet does not connect (it might if I left it long enough but I haven't had the patience). Boot time is fast for the laptop - takes about 15 - 20 seconds for the accounts screen to be displayed. But logging into an account is slow, whether an admin account or a user account. Takes about 2-5 minutes before everything is up and I can use the mouse, etc. That is, during this 2-5 minute period, Windows displays either the hourglass or the circling icon indicating that Windows is busy. P.S I timed my laptop to see how long it would take to turn on then open my browser, it took 5 mins, it may sound short but its not short when you have to wait 5 mins every time you turn it on.
New Toshiba Laptop Slow/Hangs
Apr 2, 2012I just started using a new Toshiba laptop. Trouble is, opening and closing programs and browsing is slower then I feel it should be. Pages that loaded in 5 seconds on my old machine are taking 10 seconds on this new one, and opening programs causes a good 5 second delay. Also, once a webpage has finally loaded, scrolling jumps rather than move smoothly. Multiple tabs cause quite a bit of hanging as well.
The machine doesn't seem to be under stress, no fans kicking in or anything like that. But it's just not as quick as it should be. I've disabled a lot of things on startup that weren't required, and even turned off transparency in case it was hogging resources. I run AVG antivirus and Comodo Firewall.

We skype all the time but she has a hard time using the laptop for browsing the internet.
