I had problems accessing the internet through laptop last evening. I noted that another network was active. When I went to Network and Sharing Center and clicked on network icon our home computers were shown but the other active network's gateway showed up. I was able to click on its properties and see its mac address etc. I called my provider and their tech section is looking into it. I have an admin password and running encryptation with a password key on my 2 wrie gateway. Does anyone have an idea as to what could be the cause of the other home network gateway showing up in our home network?
I have been getting this error, sometimes a few times a day or then sometimes a week.. But still it has the same effect as being on Facebook. The thing that happens is that I get a little yellow triangle with the exclamation mark on it and I cant get online and the only solution so far is that I have to troubleshoot my internet and then I am online again! But I need a better solution because yes no one wants every time to right click the network icon in the right corner and press Troubleshoot Problems.
I have 4GB of RAM and it uses maybe half a gig. I use an extensive amount of mods and I know that it'll lag the game and cause it to crash. After doing some research I've seen some people allocating more memory to minecraft by creating a .bat file and inserting this coding (assuming I am using the correct words. Feel free to correct me):java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar "C:UsersAdrianDesktopMinecraft.exe" when i run it, I can only get it to run up to 1524. anything further and it says in CMD:
Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap Could not create the Java virtual machine.
I have a flash drive. It works great in ANY PC except mine - It picks up the USB drive but shows it as if it has a raw file format - cannot open the flash drive but it shows up on my comp. Now you might think my PC it the problem, which it probably is, but all other USB hardware (including OTHER flash drives) works fine on my PC. Why does my PC not detect it properly?
I have a linksys WMP110 running on a gigabyte M55SLIS4 motherboard every time i try to connect to a wireless connection with the card the OS reboots, But i took the card and installed it on my friend mother running the same release of windows 7 and it worked completely fine no reboot not at all and he ran it for more than a week .
So can some help me out here probably tell me what they need to see why it reboots
Recently, my computer has been losing it's connectivity. I've troubleshooted and these are the multiple errors I get:
-wireless network connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration
-the default gateway is not available
-the dns server is not responding
-the connection b/w your access point, router, or cable modem and the internet is broken. The most common error I get is the default gateway is not available.
On the bottom right of the desktop on Windows 76, the notification icon for internet usually shows the disconnected icon or the no access icon. I'm still connected to the internet though and when I click on the icon, it opens up to show my connection (that is working). Why is it doing this? I've tried googling it, no use. It's not really a big deal, but knowing if I'm connected without having to click on the icon is nice.
Whenever I single left click on an icon, file, or folder a repetitive popup appears asking if I want to send whatever I clicked on to the recycle bin. The item is sent to the recycle bin regardless.
On my desktop and quick start bar the icon for MS Word is only showing a generic picture. The shortcut is working. All the rest of the MS Office shortcuts have the right icon pictures.I'm running Win 7 Home edition and MS office 2010.
someone clicked on my bluetooth icon by mistake and it has disappeared from the taskbar area. It is still in the add and remove programs area but there is not option to repair.I use it regularly to upload my pictures from my phone so am desperate to have it back. I have a Dell Inspiron notebook and am using windows 7.
I installed a wireless laser printer. To install...you must connect locally with a USB cable to enter the wireless network's password. This process installed a printer locally and the associated icon was the correct icon. I then set it up wirelessly and when it completed...the icon looked like a fax machine.
The icon I want to use exists somewhere.
1) How do I tell what icon is being used for a device
2) How do I specify the icon I want to use for a device.
my notebook desktop icon all change to Microsoft word icon also the extensions change to LNK file (.lnk) except my computer and recycle bin icon, I used windows 7 ultimate x64?
I just bought a new HP p6733w with 64-bit Windows 7. Ever since I set up my computer, I've been having the same problem. I keep losing my internet connection. Doesn't matter what I'm doing, all of the sudden my pages stop loading. An error message eventually pops up. I run the Network troubleshooter and it fixes it but I don't know why it keeps happening. It keeps saying "The default gateway is not available". [code]
My new Gateway desktop will not boot up. It's 5 months old, bought from Best Buy, has the recommended Kasperski anti-virus software installed when we brough it home. It has Kodak printer installed also bought new and properly installed. This desktop has never been dropped, spilled on, nothing has been added to it other than what I have told you.No power surges NOTHING. However when turned on it acts like it will start my Windows 7 but then stops and restarts. It only quits when I manualy press the power button . I cannot get to the startup repair either. It tells me that the startup repair is offline.
For about a month or so ago, my internet connection started disconnecting randomly, and often several times a day. I have been using 7 in over a year now (never had this problem), and, as far as i know i am the only one having this problem in my family. it is only on my stationary comp i have this problem, not any of the 3 laptops or the other stationary with win7 installed. I have seen several other posts on this error, but most of them are over a year old, and the rest is for networking programs.
I just bought a Sony VAIO VPCEA3S1E and I have a problem with my WIFI connection. It says it connects to the local network and internet, but in reality, internet doesn't work. When I try to 'resolve the problem', it indicates that "The default gateway is not available". I've updated all things I could update (including VAIO related, Windows update, as well as the driver of the WIFI card) but the problem remains. In contrast, my flatmates manage to connect to the Wifi network. Also, I can have internet through the ethernet cable. FYI, my Wifi card is ATHEROS AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter. I'm also attaching a zipped version of the information system (.rar)
I recently bought an Alienware laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. The first 2 weeks or so i had aboslutely no problems, but after that the internet started to cut out randomly, it wouldn't completely disconnect, it would just show an exclamation mark over the wireless signal icon. The only way to temporarily fix it is to troubleshoot the network, and all it tells me is that "The default gateway is not available." Once i troubleshoot it the internet runs fine for a period of time, could be 30 seconds, could be 2 hours, but then it stops working again. I've searched online for weeks for a solution but nothing has worked. it's quite frustrating when your a big online gamer
my family uses an Internet Broadband that says ADSL2+ Modem Router. Then on the back of the Broadband, there is a printed/ sticked "Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1".what is this? 192.168.1.1? can i connect to it with my laptop?
