View 0 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to find a way to change the default icon size in Windows 7. My machine defaults to 'small' icon size, but I prefer the 'large' one, in just about every case. Instead of needing to manually change the size for each individual folder, is there a way I can set 'large' to be the default for all folders? I couldn't find anything in the control panel and haven't been able to find anything about setting a default size yet.

View 0 Replies View RelatedI'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, and I'm using the program Expressit 3.1 to create my CD labels.I downloaded it from here: exPressit SE - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.comow, the files it creates, of which I have several made using its previous version, 3.0, are suffixed .exp. I have set my Windows 7 installation so that ExpressIt is the default program to open these files. Double-clicking an .exp file should therefore open that CD label in the ExpressIt program. However, when I double-click an .exp file, the ExpressIt program does not open so that I can work with the file. If I run the ExpressIt program first, then 'Open' the file from within the program, it all works fine.(The problem with this 'workaround' is that when going to Open the file, its default directory is nowhere near the directories containing my .exp files and takes ages to browse to, so I don't want to do it like that).

View 7 Replies View RelatedIn Windows 7, all the good icons are in %SystemRoot%system32imageres.dll, but we're still taken to the old SHELL32.dll when it comes time to change an icon.
Is there a registry key or something that we can change to remedy this?
I installed a wireless laser printer. To install...you must connect locally with a USB cable to enter the wireless network's password. This process installed a printer locally and the associated icon was the correct icon. I then set it up wirelessly and when it completed...the icon looked like a fax machine.
The icon I want to use exists somewhere.
1) How do I tell what icon is being used for a device
2) How do I specify the icon I want to use for a device.
Is it possible with Win7 to change any picture (Jpeg, png, bmp etc) into an icon file to use for a folder image?I just realised that its not an actual folder... its a shortcut which has a folder as an icon, Its actually a shortcut to a folder on another drive, but I'd still like to change it to an image I choose.
View 4 Replies View RelatedEveryday I upload some files to my website and to simplify my website operations, I use the same filename and just upload a file with new information every day. The case of file extensions is of no consequence to Windows 7, but it matters to my website. I want to standardize on one case and it doesn't matter which as long it's the same all the time. I have one app, the snipping tool, which seems to generally make files using uppercase, but I have some existing files that are lower case. I have tried to get rid of the lower case extensions by deleting the file and then recreating it with the same name. When I do, Windows changes the case from upper to lower. If I simply create a brand new file with no previous instances of that file in existence (as far as I know), then the default case is upper. How does one go about converting all existing files of a particular type to a standard file extension case, be it upper or lower.
View 8 Replies View RelatedOn the bottom right of the desktop on Windows 76, the notification icon for internet usually shows the disconnected icon or the no access icon. I'm still connected to the internet though and when I click on the icon, it opens up to show my connection (that is working). Why is it doing this? I've tried googling it, no use. It's not really a big deal, but knowing if I'm connected without having to click on the icon is nice.
