View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to find a way to change the default icon size in Windows 7. My machine defaults to 'small' icon size, but I prefer the 'large' one, in just about every case. Instead of needing to manually change the size for each individual folder, is there a way I can set 'large' to be the default for all folders? I couldn't find anything in the control panel and haven't been able to find anything about setting a default size yet.

View 0 Replies View RelatedIn Windows 7, all the good icons are in %SystemRoot%system32imageres.dll, but we're still taken to the old SHELL32.dll when it comes time to change an icon.
Is there a registry key or something that we can change to remedy this?
I installed a wireless laser printer. To install...you must connect locally with a USB cable to enter the wireless network's password. This process installed a printer locally and the associated icon was the correct icon. I then set it up wirelessly and when it completed...the icon looked like a fax machine.
The icon I want to use exists somewhere.
1) How do I tell what icon is being used for a device
2) How do I specify the icon I want to use for a device.
Is there a way to remove it from the desktop without venturing into the registry?

View 3 Replies View RelatedOn the bottom right of the desktop on Windows 76, the notification icon for internet usually shows the disconnected icon or the no access icon. I'm still connected to the internet though and when I click on the icon, it opens up to show my connection (that is working). Why is it doing this? I've tried googling it, no use. It's not really a big deal, but knowing if I'm connected without having to click on the icon is nice.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhenever I single left click on an icon, file, or folder a repetitive popup appears asking if I want to send whatever I clicked on to the recycle bin. The item is sent to the recycle bin regardless.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI use Google chrome for my normal browsing but since I am a forum moderator,I must use IE(the reason is that IE shows the preview of what you've done in a topic(e.g Hyper linking , importing an image and etc)but other browsers will show the html based topic(when you are writing one I mean)and since IE8 is so junk!!! I decided to move to IE9.But the point is I really don't like it's icon.Is there a way to change IE9's icon? Or are there any other browsers that show the preview of a topic when you are writing one?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, and I'm using the program Expressit 3.1 to create my CD labels.I downloaded it from here: exPressit SE - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.comow, the files it creates, of which I have several made using its previous version, 3.0, are suffixed .exp. I have set my Windows 7 installation so that ExpressIt is the default program to open these files. Double-clicking an .exp file should therefore open that CD label in the ExpressIt program. However, when I double-click an .exp file, the ExpressIt program does not open so that I can work with the file. If I run the ExpressIt program first, then 'Open' the file from within the program, it all works fine.(The problem with this 'workaround' is that when going to Open the file, its default directory is nowhere near the directories containing my .exp files and takes ages to browse to, so I don't want to do it like that).
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been getting this error, sometimes a few times a day or then sometimes a week.. But still it has the same effect as being on Facebook. The thing that happens is that I get a little yellow triangle with the exclamation mark on it and I cant get online and the only solution so far is that I have to troubleshoot my internet and then I am online again! But I need a better solution because yes no one wants every time to right click the network icon in the right corner and press Troubleshoot Problems.
