View 0 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to find a way to change the default icon size in Windows 7. My machine defaults to 'small' icon size, but I prefer the 'large' one, in just about every case. Instead of needing to manually change the size for each individual folder, is there a way I can set 'large' to be the default for all folders? I couldn't find anything in the control panel and haven't been able to find anything about setting a default size yet.

View 0 Replies View RelatedIn Windows 7, all the good icons are in %SystemRoot%system32imageres.dll, but we're still taken to the old SHELL32.dll when it comes time to change an icon.
Is there a registry key or something that we can change to remedy this?

View 0 Replies View RelatedI installed a wireless laser printer. To install...you must connect locally with a USB cable to enter the wireless network's password. This process installed a printer locally and the associated icon was the correct icon. I then set it up wirelessly and when it completed...the icon looked like a fax machine.
The icon I want to use exists somewhere.
1) How do I tell what icon is being used for a device
2) How do I specify the icon I want to use for a device.

What I want is to remove ALL my fonts and only keep the ones that are Windows & default. So a minimum.
It seems I don;t have foreign keyboards installed or something like that.
My computer has been slowly deteriorating the last few days. It first ran a system repair every time I started the computer and would then boot to the desktop, then it would just loop through the system repair screen over and over. I am thinking that my last option is to restore the computer to it's factory default since I have everything backed up on an external hard drive.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, and I'm using the program Expressit 3.1 to create my CD labels.I downloaded it from here: exPressit SE - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.comow, the files it creates, of which I have several made using its previous version, 3.0, are suffixed .exp. I have set my Windows 7 installation so that ExpressIt is the default program to open these files. Double-clicking an .exp file should therefore open that CD label in the ExpressIt program. However, when I double-click an .exp file, the ExpressIt program does not open so that I can work with the file. If I run the ExpressIt program first, then 'Open' the file from within the program, it all works fine.(The problem with this 'workaround' is that when going to Open the file, its default directory is nowhere near the directories containing my .exp files and takes ages to browse to, so I don't want to do it like that).
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been getting this error, sometimes a few times a day or then sometimes a week.. But still it has the same effect as being on Facebook. The thing that happens is that I get a little yellow triangle with the exclamation mark on it and I cant get online and the only solution so far is that I have to troubleshoot my internet and then I am online again! But I need a better solution because yes no one wants every time to right click the network icon in the right corner and press Troubleshoot Problems.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI own a Gateway Desktop PC which runs Windows 7 Home Premium x64bit.I had to restore it to it's default factory settings a few days ago as it was playing up severely and a system restore did not work etc...I was downloading some Windows Updates and after the updates installed and I restarted my PC, when I logged back in and clicked the Windows Explorer tab down the bottom... the folders in Libraries were gone (Documents, Music, Pictures, Videos) and the "Restore Default Libraries" does not work.I did an internet search to try and find a solution and came across a thread on here somewhere where Brink was speaking to people about it and there were a few tutorials... I tried them but nothing seemed to work for me...
