We just bought some new Lenovo Edge laptops for work and also bought USB 2.0 Port Replicators with Digital Video Part number: 0A33942 to use with them. Our other setup was a Lenovo L512 with a Mini dock which the L512 has been discontinued. My question is can I use a DVI-to-dual DVI or VGA to display the video to two 22" monitors? How will windows recognize the monitors and what about performance? Some people here like the screen so small that I can barely read it and others like it large enough to read it from 10 feet away. The only thing that they are used for is Internet browsing and document viewing. Nothing graphic intensive.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had an OEM version of Windows 7 Home Premium x64 installed, and one day my windows started hanging after the windows logo (when the login screen would appear). I hadn't installed or updated any drivers. After being unable to fix the problem through restoring to a system image, startup repair, etc. I reinstalled Windows 7 x64 from a clean iso (no OEM ware). This meant I was missing some drivers. I downloaded the drivers from the Lenovo website, and after installing the video driver, the problem occurred again. The system does however work fine on Ubuntu 12.10 (Linux).

Lenovo IdeaPad Y560
Windows 7 Home Premium x64
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730
If I am streaming a video online the screen will get fuzzy and freeze. I will then get the blue screen which will mention that there is a problem with my display driver. This has happened many times. I won't be able to do anything after that. I can't even turn off the computer. I just have to wait for the battery to die so that it will turn off.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have AVS Video Converter and what I'm trying to do is download 1920x1080 (I don't want 720p) video clips, converting them from mp4 to wmv and setting them as my desktop background. I use this converter because it is the first converter I tried that gives me lossless conversion to wmv. My screen resolution is 1280x800.I use the 1920x1080 video and leave all the settings except for aspect ratio which I set to 16:9 and the resolution to encode the video at 1280x800.When I set it as my desktop background, the video is still 1920x1080 and if you compare the original to the desktop background, the video is "protruding" from the screen, so I can't see some areas.I've tried setting windows background to center, tile and all options but still nothing.

As i alreadfy had a computer i thought i would start using a dual monitor set up in which i can have two screens doing different things, for instance one monitor plays a film while the other is on facebook. how ever when i received the computer it only had one AV monitor port on it. This meant i couldnt do a dual set up for even use the LCD monitor to its potential. So i bought a AV splitter cable to plug both my monitors into one port. but this just left me with two monitors doing the same thing and having to use the bad resolution from the old monitor on both monitors.

Problem is that both the monitor and the TV goes to sleep after about 3 hours displaying. The splitters input connection is from a docking station from where I dock my dell laptop. I only get the display back on the two screens by powering of the splitter for a few seconds then powering it on again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using 7 Ultimate.Two days ago I was tempted to try I.E.9, D/L it but decided it wasn't for me.Did the uninstall in "Add/Remove".Later I realised that my yellow folders, from "My Docs" etc down to folders I'd gathered work in would not now open with left clicks, only with R click and "Open". The message I get is "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing these actions.Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the default programs control panel".how do I define my "yellow" folders in order to assign 'em to something that will open them with? If I drag "My documents down to the taskbar and pin it to Windows Explorer then it will open from there with no problem.I gather that Windows Explorer is the programme to link 'em to but how?

I just want to rid my pc of all the crap on it.I have a toshiba satellite p755d. It won't boot from any kind of media, nor does it seem to recognize it until windows is loaded.I went to the bios to change the boot order but I couldn't find that option anywhere. View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the past few days, I have gotten many BSOD's while browsing the web, playing games, or talking to people on Teamspeak 3. Usually the BSOD/crash hits me usually an hour in while I'm doing those things in a session. Before I did get BSOD's and crashes but they were few and spread out. I never responded to them because they happened very sparsely. Now that they are very constant, I need to do some action. I have went into safe mode right now and am typing this on another computer. As for the dmp files, I didn't have the option for the BSOD crashes to save dmp files but now that that is enabled, I do have one dmp file that I can share.
Also I have noticed that sometimes that when the computer crashes, the sound becomes very distorted, the screen tears/fuzzes into a static-like image and then it just restarts. I either get this kind of crash or just a simple BSOD. It's very strange. Apparently these are considered BSODs as well according to bluescreenview, they just dont have the bluescreen. Interesting..

Things that I have done but to no avail:
- Deleted MSI Afterburner
-Deleted Daemon Tools
-Completed a Memtest86 on my RAM. No errors even after 10 passes.
-Took out the RAM sticks, cleaned and then put back in their sockets.
-Cleaned the computer for dust
-Used Ccleaner to scan for problems and junk.
-Full scan of Malwarebytes. Caught 7 things but still nothing changes.
-Done an SFC /scannow scan
-Downloaded all the major Windows 7 updates.
-chkdsk scan.
Temperatures vary but they tend to stay normal. CPU average temperature is around 40 C idle. GPU Temperature is about 40C idle, 50C viewing videos, and and may hit to around 60-65 C while gaming. Fan speed on 55%. Temperatures when computer is idle on the desktop. Screenshots included below: The first bluescreen after I enabled the computer to allow dump files. I recently installed Skype on Win 8 and my video shows a black screen. However in Win 7 my Skype video shows whole environment clearly (no black screen).
