AVS Video Converter Won't Compress Video To Fit Screen
Jan 11, 2011
I have AVS Video Converter and what I'm trying to do is download 1920x1080 (I don't want 720p) video clips, converting them from mp4 to wmv and setting them as my desktop background. I use this converter because it is the first converter I tried that gives me lossless conversion to wmv. My screen resolution is 1280x800.I use the 1920x1080 video and leave all the settings except for aspect ratio which I set to 16:9 and the resolution to encode the video at 1280x800.When I set it as my desktop background, the video is still 1920x1080 and if you compare the original to the desktop background, the video is "protruding" from the screen, so I can't see some areas.I've tried setting windows background to center, tile and all options but still nothing.
It is possible to compress my movies recorded by my camara without lose quality?Only 2 minutes video in HD is 500MB. Its a lot I think. Is there any way and some program that you can recomanded me?The most important is not to lose quality and resolution.
well im trying to convert some videos from MP4 to AVI.so far im having not much luck, i have tried a few programs like wondershare and prism video file converter.im either loosing alot of picture quality or its taking all day and still loosing quality.
I wanna to convert some of my videos on pc for my Nokia cellphone(can't afford to buy iPhone).
I've searched on google and download a few softwares. But they are all trial version with waternarks on the output mp4 videos. So I'm here and ask you,is there a free video converter without watermarks output?
Basically, I do a lot of video converting since I'm always sending movies/tv shows to devices like PS3, Playbook, Xbox and some other stuff. Most of the converters I've found support only single core CPU's and take an hour or so to convert, I was wondering if there are any conversion tools that support more than one core and would be much faster than standard converters?
I recently installed Skype on Win 8 and my video shows a black screen. However in Win 7 my Skype video shows whole environment clearly (no black screen).
how to convert a shared video memory into dedicated video memory and system video memory? me and my friend have the same specs computers but the same game runs slow in my computer but it runs smoothly in his computer?
I'm searching and searching for a free / opensource program that can convert most video formats (MOV, WMV, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 etc) to H.264 or vise versa. And with such options as data rate of 2000 / 5000 kbps but not limited to only that option.
Why do video files in windows 7 always appear at least twice in the video folder? Deleting the surplus ones means that all (with the same name) vanish. I'd be grateful for the explanation that enables me to have just one of each.
I am looking for a video editor that can split the video into parts (preferably free). Most of my vidoes are in the .wmv format and sizes range from a few mb up to 4 gb. In most circumstances, it would be used to remove the beginning and end of the video.
My DVD drive suddenly stopped reading Movie DVDs. If I load data CD and data DVD it reads successfully. But when I load redbox or netflix dvd it does not read atall.
I tried changing the registry entries as described in this forum but no effect. I am stuck. Tried re-installing the device driver too but no effect. Still the same.
I have recently been having problems playing standard .avi Files. I have a few .avi files sitting on my desktop, and when opened with VLC it crashes within 3-20 minutes . So I tried with Quicktime and worked fine... I thought it was just a fluke glitch.
Last night i open a new file and it plays quite choppy in Quicktime so i move over to VLC and it crashes... I tried with Windows media player and crashes in minutes as well.
Recently and all of a sudden (perhaps after using a VGS projector) when i boot my laptop i do not get any video display - not even my TOSHIBA POST or the "starting windows" screen. But when the boot gets to the login screen it dispalys on my laptop and from thereon everything is fine and normal
If i connect an external monitor or projector i can see everything right from the very beginning on the external monitor such as the TOSHIBA POST and the starting wndows etc. When the login screen appears the dispaly from the external monitor dissappears and the dispaly returns to my laptop screen after which everything is normal.
I have dual boot xp and windows 7 and when i play movies on xp the screen is fine black is black and i have my monitor calibrated. But the same movie in windows 7 is more grey ...like brigthness is not correct and that only happend when i play movie (on any player it is the same gray effect)... I took screenshot and when i look in windows photo viewer the screenshot is normal ..black is black etc... anybody know what is the problem? I did calibrate my monitor correctly and windows colors are ok ... just appearing that gray problem when playing video.
I recently desc covered that besides VLC on my laptop all the other video player are not able to work properly (meaning,, Windows Media Player 12, Cyberlink PowerDVD12 and WMPC are able to play only the audio, but not the video, just black screen),, BUT with VLC is no problem playing any video format!! The thing is that I didn't have this problem previously,, all my video players were able to play all the same video files, which they can't now! I have the latest AMD Radeon HD video drivers installed (just after I discovered the problem).
I have previously made this trade in a "Graphic Cards" section,, I guess it was wrong so I am re-posting it here "Music, Pictures & Video"
My father in law has done something to cause the video play screen, with a play arrow, to become a ghost image on his notebook. When at the home screen you can see the icons behind it and they work fine.
I have a 1 yr old PC and i have never been able to have a WMP video on the main screen in full, whenever i choose a video i generally use VLC to play it but it does bug me that the WMV never comes up. When i run the mouse over the WMP icon on the taskbar it shows me a very miniture version of the video, i tried right click but still nothing. The system is 64 bit windows 7,
I am running window 7 which came preinstalled on this acer laptop. 3 days ago this started, my home page is interenet explorer with nytimes as my home page, My mouse is a logitech that I use to navigate and scroll with.as soon as the screen appears and I start to scroll down on the right hand margin something picks up a header or an ad or a video off of the page and starts it flickering very rapidly in the upper left corner of the page, it also happened when I just navigated to you cnet.com and it picked up your header and started it flickering and actually made it difficult to log on as your login is up in that area.

I got a new video card at work to install and nothing will show up when I plug it in. I can go through the computers VGA and it works fine, but when I go to the video card only a black screen. Any help? Can't download drivers either, only black screen upon boot.
I have really bad lag when running any application that requires full screen mode. I've got the latest AMD drivers that supports my GFX card (Asus Radeon 4850). I used to have a Nvidia card and I would just change one of the settings to get rid of the lag. I changed the Graphics card and reformatted the computer so it shouldn't be a driver issue. I have Service Pack 1 and all the updates for Windows installed. The lag is unbearable for games, so I can't play any games that require full screen, no issues when it's run in windowed mode. I've used FPS monitors while running games (Fraps and MSI afterburner) and the frame rates readings are normal (above 60 always) but it always looks like 20-ish no matter which game I play.
For videos there's always some kind of problem. Used various media players, and different browsers for flash videos but sometime the video skips to the end very quickly, or won't continue playing and halts immediately somewhere along the way. Used MSI Kombustor to stress out the GPU, and it maxes at 70 at 100% load. Directx 10 stress test seems to be blurry, every other test seems fine to run but would have the lag from being in full screen.
i have dual monitors on a geforce 9800gtx+ with newest drivers from nvidia, and i have some weirdness when it comes to fullscreen videos, if i am playing a video in wmp or watching a Internet video in fullscreen on either monitor, when i click on the other monitor it come out of full screen on the monitor playing the video.
im running win 7 ultimate x86
any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have a problem playing live TV using Windows Media Player. I can select different TV channels without a problem. I can hear the audio clearly. However, i can not watch anything as it displays a black screen. I originally used WinTV (version 7, with the newest updated driver and software) and works fine. For video card, I have a GTX260 with the latest version (295.73) installed. I've tried different versions of driver (259.xx to 285.xx) to no avail. When I tried setting up the TV tuner it detects the tuner as Analog Cable (tuner 1) which I assume is the WinTV tuner.
