well im trying to convert some videos from MP4 to AVI.so far im having not much luck, i have tried a few programs like wondershare and prism video file converter.im either loosing alot of picture quality or its taking all day and still loosing quality.
I have AVS Video Converter and what I'm trying to do is download 1920x1080 (I don't want 720p) video clips, converting them from mp4 to wmv and setting them as my desktop background. I use this converter because it is the first converter I tried that gives me lossless conversion to wmv. My screen resolution is 1280x800.I use the 1920x1080 video and leave all the settings except for aspect ratio which I set to 16:9 and the resolution to encode the video at 1280x800.When I set it as my desktop background, the video is still 1920x1080 and if you compare the original to the desktop background, the video is "protruding" from the screen, so I can't see some areas.I've tried setting windows background to center, tile and all options but still nothing.
I wanna to convert some of my videos on pc for my Nokia cellphone(can't afford to buy iPhone).
I've searched on google and download a few softwares. But they are all trial version with waternarks on the output mp4 videos. So I'm here and ask you,is there a free video converter without watermarks output?
Basically, I do a lot of video converting since I'm always sending movies/tv shows to devices like PS3, Playbook, Xbox and some other stuff. Most of the converters I've found support only single core CPU's and take an hour or so to convert, I was wondering if there are any conversion tools that support more than one core and would be much faster than standard converters?
I am considering the purchase of a NetGear ReadyNas Ultra 2 Plus for my home network. At the present time, I have a file server that is about 6 years old running an old pair of 200GB hard drives. While these drives are not mirrored, they are synchronized multiple times per day using Robocopy.I've reached the point where I don't want to manage and maintain a server (windows or linux) to provide simply storage on my network. By going with a NAS device, I can eliminate OS patches and updates and having to maintain another device. The NAS device will consume less power than my server, and take less physical space. And these NAS devices have DNLA built-in, so streaming from my PS3 and 360 should be simple. And the particular version of this NAS device offers iSCSI target support...which i could take advantage of in my virtual lab at home.
I've found the Ultra 2 Plus for $379 from Amazon. This model has the dual core atom processor, which is advertised and reviewed to provide around 30% more performance than the single core atom offering.. I'm planning to add a pair of 2TB Seagate Barracude Green 64MB Cache and run them in the mirrored Netgear X-RAID2 setup. This provides a mechanism so that I can actually replace the 2TB drives later with larger drives without having to backup and restore data to the device.Any particular reason you guys can think of to say this is a bad idea? With both drives, I'm looking at $619 for a small, silent device, which allows hot-swap drives, easy sharing and support for my 360/PS3 and it provides 2TB of mirrored storage space.
I have a lot of FLV's and I want to convert it to MP3's and MP4. Does anyone know a free solution? Could be online website as well as long as there is no quality loss.
i am having a problem with a pc to tv converter. whenever i connect the laptop to tv through converter both screens flash in and out going black and then good again for a few then blank again and so fort without stopping.
I want to add another HD to my PC but all my sata ports are used up, the only other option would be to buy an IDE to SATA converter.
If I buy a converter will the HD behave as if it were using SATA, will the transfer speeds remain the same? Or will it degrade?
Someone told me it would be possible to add 2 devices using the PATA/IDE ports, but so far I've only seen converters that only have an option for 1 IDE device. How many devices can the PATA port support?
I have Windows 7 home premium on my computer, and I used the windows backup software to create an xml image and recovery cd. I would like to create a virtual machine, load Windows 7 into it, then get the w8 upgrade (I get os upgrades cheaply as a teacher) and try the upgrade in the vpc before I decide to upgrade my computer. I have heard lots of bad reviews about w8, so I will probably skip it as my main os, but I would like to check it out in a vpc. However, I have only installed xp that I downloaded from ms in a vpc, so I have a big learning curve here.So I have two questions:
1) Can I successfully install an iso image of my current os into a vpc that I create on this comuter? Would the drivers be the same in the vpc?
2) What is the best free software to use to convert an xml image to iso to do this?

I have a USB<->serial converter (several, actually) that I cannot get to work under Windows 7. I know the hardware works.
When I try to open the virtual serial port in a terminal program, I get an error message stating that it cannot open the port. When I try to use the old-fashioned command line method ("copy test.txt com7" from the "DOS prompt"), I get an "Access denied" error message.
More details: My computer is a dual-boot Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit / Windows XP Pro 32-bit system. The USB serial converter worked immediately under WinXP when I rebooted, and it even works in the WinXP virtual machine under Windows 7. I have the latest certified drivers (from FTDI), which are stated to function under Windows 7 64-bit.
The serial converter appears as it should in the Device manager. My computer has one physical COM port, and I can access that one without any problems.
The serial converter is a USB-RS485-WE-1800-BT from FTDI. I have tried a USB<->RS232 converter (don't have the model number here), but it behaved exactly like the other one. I also started the terminal program as an adminstrator (since I suspected access rights issues), but it did not help.
I have tried uninstalling the drivers, then installing the latest certified driver and the even later non-certified driver, but still had the same behaviour.
Where can I find a converter that is good, I'm afraid I never used one before So im making sure, does anyone have an experience with them, I read some review people saying make sure you device is compatible with the voltages? If I need to check if they are compatible why am i buying a adapter/converter?
is there a simple program that converts batch file to .exe file? I found this: Bat To Exe Converter - CNET Download.com But some users say its virus/malware. Can someone confirm that or give a diffrent link?
I'm looking for a Adapter Converter from VGA-to-Analogue to being able to connect my Notebook to the (any) TV (the older ones).
TVs usually have one or more of the following input connectors: S-Video Video (cinch) Scart
I' found some Adapter: PC TV Konverter - NEU! - ganz einfach Pc: Amazon.de: Elektronik KanaaN PC VGA zu TV Composite Video RGB Konverter: Amazon.de: Computer & Zubehr Geniatech PC VGA zu TV Composite Video RGB Konverter: Amazon.de: Elektronik
These devices are all looking very similar. But the buttons are different. Is there really a different? And what could be a problem of these Converters?
I didn't find Information about how the signal is converted, What if I have a high resolution? And use the VGA out from the Adapter,Can the analogue signal send to the TV be scaled correct?Or is there any other good converter Adapter?
PS: There is another Question in my head.

I was using this product the other day in production at work and noticed that 5.0 was much slower than the 4.x versions of the product. I found that VMWare enabled SSL encryption during the conversion and this slows down the process by 2-3x. A box I used to be able to convert in 4 hours and 50 minutes, took 11 hours and 50 minutes. Anyway, you can easily change the behavior. Navigate to C:ProgramDataVMwareVMware vCenter Converter Standalone and edit the converter-worker.xml file.
Near the bottom, you will find this section: Code: <nfc> <readTimeoutMs>120000</readTimeoutMs> <useSsl>true</useSsl> <!-- Delay is specified in milliseconds, -1 denotes the default. <acceptTimeoutMs>-1</acceptTimeoutMs> <requestTimeoutMs>-1</requestTimeoutMs>
[code]......
Then simply restart the VMware vCenter Converter StandAlone worker service.
I downloaded SEVAS - S together with it's own you tube converter. I want to remove it but i keep being told I need permission. I downloaded it myself. I own the PC. Why am I not allowed to do this??
