View 3 RepliesI'm having problems with my the graphics card on my laptop. It's an APU and I have picture and videos problems. Whenever I watch movies or look at pictures I see most things fuzzy, (if that makes any sense). I tried to watch a DVD and the video quality was unbearable. The most unbelievable thing is it affects picture quality. I can't do anything without poor quality pictures or videos. I have tried installing new drivers and all sorts of things. Is it me or is it my laptop?

I have AVS Video Converter and what I'm trying to do is download 1920x1080 (I don't want 720p) video clips, converting them from mp4 to wmv and setting them as my desktop background. I use this converter because it is the first converter I tried that gives me lossless conversion to wmv. My screen resolution is 1280x800.I use the 1920x1080 video and leave all the settings except for aspect ratio which I set to 16:9 and the resolution to encode the video at 1280x800.When I set it as my desktop background, the video is still 1920x1080 and if you compare the original to the desktop background, the video is "protruding" from the screen, so I can't see some areas.I've tried setting windows background to center, tile and all options but still nothing.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI work as a pianist and have recorded a few videos of me playing the piano using my mini-DV camcorder (a Panasonic NV-GS230). I transferred the videos from camcorder to PC using Panasonic's MotionDV Studio software which has created very good quality .AVI files. When I watch the AVI files on my 4 year old laptop (Acer Aspire 5920 running Vista) the video quality looks superb - the video looks very clear and runs very smoothly. However, when I watch the video on my new custom PC (spec included below) for some reason the video looks a little more grainy/blurry and not quite so fluid/smooth. If I say the video quality on the laptop is 100%, then I'd have to say the quality on the PC is about 75-80%. Here is my PC speec

I have been having this very annoying problem for over 2 months now. I'm running windows 7 ultimate 64-bit and Most video on my pc looks very pixelated. I was able to get vlc to work correctly again with an update to the latest version and wmp seems to work fine too. I'm still having very low quailty video in my slingplayer, skype video and certain flash videos on the internet. I have been searching google for any possible solution like using an older video card driver, a vista driver, and adding codec's but nothing seems to work. I'm not really sure if it's an Nvidia,windows, or a flash problem.

my pc has 2 monitors plugged into it and i'm using ultramon I also have my cpu oc'd to 3ghz, so i put it back to stock speeds and still have the poor video qaulity so that wasn't it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 720p resolution video file in HD specs. I converted it from mkv --> avi with a special program to keep its subtitles and HD specs. However, I want to burn it onto a DVD WITH a DVD menu. The only problem is that everytime I want to do so, the programs that I tried forces me to dumb down the quality to 480p. Is there a simple solution that is not too complicated for me to keep the HD resolution? By DVD , I mean like burn as DVD so I can watch it on a DVD player that is for TVs.

As soon as I open this folder, the memory in use begins to climb and within 60 seconds I've lost all of my free RAM. Once it maxes out, performance falls off a cliff and typically ends with me doing a hard reset.I used the resource monitor to track this, and the bizarre thing is there doesn't seem to be any process actually using up any memory. All of the processes listed there in the memory tab keep just about the same amount of memory in use (looking at committed, working, shareable and private).If windows boots in Safe Mode, the issue is not reproduced.I can open the video and the video plays.<edit>If I open the video from the recent history within the Media Player Classic, it will play and does not take up my memory</edit>What do you think?

After it rebooted I lost all internet connections, still had local connections to printer, scannner.After attempting to reset router and modem three times I finaly did a system restore.I got back internet connection for about 5 minutes then it rebooted again and again no connection.System windows 7 ultimate 64, intel based, I7,home built, had never had a problem till today system has been up and running for over a year.

Suppose I'm in chrome and typing in a text box, after exact 5s, the whole window loses focus and i need to click on the box again to regain focus and resume typing (you can understand how annoying this is). View 1 Replies View RelatedOkay, so I just installed a new motherboard and heatsink w/fan into my system and reinstalled everything from the old system(ram, cpu, gpa, psu, dvd burner, network card, ect).I formatted the hard drive before the swap to do a clean install. During the swap of computer components, I pulled the CMOS battery for a few seconds to reset the bios.During the install of windows, it usually comes up to the point of copying files or decompressting files, the screen cuts out, then the monitor goes into standby due to no signal.The video card is an AMD Radeon HD 6450 1gb.I seen somewhere that Win7 sometimes has issues with certain AMD card base drivers (not sure that its called, but the simplified driver used before the full drivers are installed).Currently I am rerunning memtest86 to test the ram, already ran the harddrive utilites to test the hard drive and so far both have 0 errors.

Worked first task, then didn't so uninstalled, reinstalled - no luck, so finally uninstalled.HD usage upto now was an acceptable 40gb.One day, whilst PC was in standby, I saw something was active, so using Task Manager saw it was Google Earth??? Was NOT installed but the process was upto 25%?Stopped that but later saw my HD usage was around the 100gb mark!Done regedit and all that to see if Google Earth showed up but nothing.Did a Spy Bot scan and it came up with numerous entries -C:UsersAnge&GeoffsAppdataLocall.....Cannot find that but has all that space gone into a "black hole"?Apart from updating Windows 7, I have downloaded nothing to account for that massive HD space?

I have my Windows 7 disk that I made when I got my computer new.I put that in and boot from the disk I brings me to the partition menu with no upgrade option (I think that is the option I need in order to create the Windows old folder?) So my question is If I format the System Partition and reinstall windows on that partition will my data on the data partition be effected? or will the data partition still be available once the fresh system is installed?

If I right click on the shortcut it appears to be missing the "open" command and double clicking doesn't work either.I have scanned for viruses, using Trend, Avast, AVG and Panda. I have also scanned for MAlware using Malware bytes & Spybot and they did not find anything.I have also logged on as a different user, this works fine. Now with the lastest update for ATI, my monitor loses signal midway through the install of the new pack and I have to restart my pc to do anything.
I have tried different versions of the drivers, uninstalled my previous drivers and tried to install fresh but no dice.
Any ideas?
This happens randomly, starting about a month ago. I'm on Windows 7 64bit, and every so often my monitor would flicker black just once, and once it goes back from blackness for a second, the task bar would be totally plain and white. The internet would also be disconnected with no way to go back to normal unless I restart. Half the time, the computer crashes after I restart making me use a restore point.
Does this have to do with hardware? I run diagnostics and memtest86 and half the time it says something is wrong with my RAM, then when I reinsert them, the tests say I'm ok. Then when this happen again, my ram tests faulty again. I have no idea what's going on. Any light on this situation would make me very appreciative.
i have 2 hard drives 1 with win 7 beta but strangley i cant boot the final ver of windows 7 so im installing it onto the 2nd drive, and make it my main boot, now if i want to remove the beta boot record will i lose my files on that hdd.

We have 2 wireless laptops & 1 hard wired tower (all onWindows 7) in a home network. (All hardware are new this year) The laptops have intermittent internet connectivity yet do not lose the network connections. I have upgraded both the Motorola modem and Linksys router to Windows 7 but it did not resolve the issue.
