I use my primary mostly for browsing, msn, music players, Ventrilo etc etc,I want to use my secondary Monitor for gaming Watching Videos. However, when i want to use something Full screen on my secondary monitor it goes full screen on the primary monitor. I cant also run it in windowed mode and stretch it out to full screen, it does not allow me to do that, it goes back to the size of my primary Monitor.
Ps.I want this since i play mostly with fullscreen borderless or in windowed mode so i can still browse the internet or adjust music/ventrillo settings. I dont want to have an Taskbar below the game, so thats why i need it on the Second Monitor.
I got two monitors and marked dual monitor. When I put full screen sometimes that program goes to second monitor sometimes on main monitor. I got windows 7 64bit also. When I put full screen program on second monitor the wallpaper is getting low..I will post screenshots. First one is when I run a game for example and second, normal working

how can I play a video in jet audio (or any other media program) on one monitor while I play a fullscreen game on the other. I can get it to work with streams off of website like own3d.tv and twitch.tv, and I can even run the streams in full screen. However when I try to run a movie through jet audio or even just play music through zune player, they freeze up. The audio will still come through, but either the picture is frozen in place or the zune player seems to get frozen.
my laptop has an ati x1600 mobility card and is outputting via hdmi (mini dvi-actually) to an ASUS VH242H (full 1080p) monitor. When I had this connected running xp I had not problem with the screen resolution and size, but now that I'm running windows 7 the 1920x1080 resolution is available, but the picture doesn't fill the whole screen, there is like a 1" black box around the displayed screen.
I believe it has something to do with my display driver, I'm currently using the one provided by windows update.
Is there any way in Windows 7 to force a specific full-screen program (like a game) to open on a secondary monitor? Or does full-screen stuff only work on the primary monitor?
I have a project I'm doing where I have up to 5 monitors. I have a video that I want to play, but I want it to be FULL SCREEN and stretched to every screen. Is there a software that can do this? I know I could just pull the edges of the window to fit, but that will look tacky and is unacceptable.I know there are hardware solutions, but I would prefer software.
I am using Windows 7. I use external monitor connected to my notebook. When ever i connect the laptop to external monitor through VGA cable, It gives display on external monitor but not full screen. I have to reboot everytime to get full screen display which is annoying a lot.
I have recently been having problems playing standard .avi Files. I have a few .avi files sitting on my desktop, and when opened with VLC it crashes within 3-20 minutes . So I tried with Quicktime and worked fine... I thought it was just a fluke glitch.
Last night i open a new file and it plays quite choppy in Quicktime so i move over to VLC and it crashes... I tried with Windows media player and crashes in minutes as well.
I have a 1 yr old PC and i have never been able to have a WMP video on the main screen in full, whenever i choose a video i generally use VLC to play it but it does bug me that the WMV never comes up. When i run the mouse over the WMP icon on the taskbar it shows me a very miniture version of the video, i tried right click but still nothing. The system is 64 bit windows 7,
I have really bad lag when running any application that requires full screen mode. I've got the latest AMD drivers that supports my GFX card (Asus Radeon 4850). I used to have a Nvidia card and I would just change one of the settings to get rid of the lag. I changed the Graphics card and reformatted the computer so it shouldn't be a driver issue. I have Service Pack 1 and all the updates for Windows installed. The lag is unbearable for games, so I can't play any games that require full screen, no issues when it's run in windowed mode. I've used FPS monitors while running games (Fraps and MSI afterburner) and the frame rates readings are normal (above 60 always) but it always looks like 20-ish no matter which game I play.
For videos there's always some kind of problem. Used various media players, and different browsers for flash videos but sometime the video skips to the end very quickly, or won't continue playing and halts immediately somewhere along the way. Used MSI Kombustor to stress out the GPU, and it maxes at 70 at 100% load. Directx 10 stress test seems to be blurry, every other test seems fine to run but would have the lag from being in full screen.
i've gone to microsoft for help with this issue, been to several tech forums, and even sent a request for help to adobe flash player for help but i have had absolutely no luck.
basically this is my problem...i am a student and i just upgraded my gateway laptop to windows 7 home premium x64-bit for that $30 deal. everything is running perfectly except my on-line videos.
every single time i click on "full screen" to maximize the video size i start having sound distortion after about 30 or 40 seconds. i've checked and it's not my browser (i've tried it with firefox and ie). i went to upgrade my sound driver but i got a message saying that my driver is already up-to-date. i also thought that the problem might be the flash player but i checked on that too and it was also up-to-date.
the best way that i can describe the distortion is that i have this sound that makes all of the noise in the video sound like everything is cracking up under water. hope that makes sense. oh, and to make things even worse...i don't have this problem on Internet. i don't know if Internet formats their videos in a certain way but i can put videos on full screen without the sound distortion. if you'd like an example of the type of videos i'm talking about go to msn.com and look at the tiny little video that they always have on the left side titled "video highlights".
any help would be greatly appreciated...i really don't know what to do. i have a small bit of understanding of computers but i'm not that tech savvy.
I have just installed a dual monitor set-up on my PC. 1 connected with DVI and the other with HDMI. While using both screens 1 has a yellow tint (the right screen) but when I switch back to using just the single monitor (left screen) then that screen has the yellow tint?
I have a weird issue where my screen will get all light colored and just really crappy quality - blurry. I'm not sure if it is Windows, Nvidia, the HDMI cable, my monitor or what. I apologize if this is the wrong forum.
This usually happens coming out of full screen from Windows Media Center, but sometimes after a reboot.
I can turn off my tv (Sony Bravia - 52" LCD - KDL-52W4100) and turn it back on then the problem is fixed. Sometimes I can go full screen and back out again and that will fix it.
I have HDMI connection - Windows 7100 - I have the latst Nvidia drivers 186.. - I have tried a different HDMI cable also.
i've just built a htpc using some old bits from a gaming pc, but when streaming videos full screen the audio and video are very choppy, with the audio including crackling sounds. for example, if i watch a 1080p video on Internet, it works reasonably well (with the odd pop from the audio) but as the controls overlay (with the play, pause and video slider) slides away the video slows down and there is a lot of crackling from the audio. there is an even worse problem with bbc iplayer and skygo when watching on fullscreen as the entire time the video almost seems slowed down and the audio is very choppy. if however i watch a downloaded video fullscreen, there are absolutely no problems at all.i have only just build this pc so i believe all drivers are up to date. i'm using windows 7 and have therefore disabled aero to see if that helps (it helped slightly). the hardware is as follows:
cpu: core 2 duo e8400 at 3ghz graphics card: nvidia gt 430 motherboard: gigabyte ga x48 ds4 ram: 4gb ocz reaperx
for my old gaming pc i used all the same parts apart from using a gtx 460 for the graphics. this was then set up exactly the same way as this new htpc (into a samsung tv via hdmi from the graphics card) and yet worked absolutely fine. so the only thing that has changed is the graphics card, but the gt 430 is supposed to be able to easily handle hd video and audio.
I running a dual monitor setup with an LCD monitor and a plasma tv. I want to be able to have screensavers run independently on each monitor, so if I'm doing something on the LCD, but not on the plasma, then the screensaver will start on the plasma but not the lcd. If the screensaver doesn't start then the plasma tv it will get an image burn in.
I got a new video card at work to install and nothing will show up when I plug it in. I can go through the computers VGA and it works fine, but when I go to the video card only a black screen. Any help? Can't download drivers either, only black screen upon boot.
I was having a problem with dual monitor using 7127 build. But only when I use newest NVIDIA drivers. My tv just flashes a few times, and I can see that fish a couple of times, but then it just goes to like no signal. If I use default drivers which are installed on windows install, then it works fine, but then I dont have NVIDIA control panel and some other features.
My video card is GF 8800GTS 650M 512MB DDR3 DUAL DVI TV PCIE. I would like to know if anyone else is having this problem and If it has been fixed in the newest build, so I could be arsed to do a clean install.
I am running a dual monitor setup with my TV hooked up via HDMI to my laptop.
Everything was working fine before, I always had the laptop as my main display yet I could play a video or a game fullscreen on the TV.
Since a couple of days, as soon as I put something in fullscreen, it immediately goes on my laptop, regardless if it's open on my TV or my laptop. I don't remember changing/installing anything that could've changed that...
I checked a bit in the AMD vision software and the Windows control pannel but I can't seem to solve my problem without switching my TV as the main display. I also made a quick search on google as well as here but the problems were mainly with Flash, which isn't in cause here.
Here are my system specs:
Toshiba Satellite L75D Windows 7 home premium 64-bit AMD Radeon 6520G
I have just did a clean install of Windows 7 ultimate from XP and I am unable to get my dual monitors to work like they did in XP.
I have a DVI Radeon graphics card plugged into the agp slot, and a Nvidia geforce vga adapter plugged into a pci slot of my dell optiplex 755. When I am in the screen resolution settings the second monitor cannot be detected.
In bios I have 2 options under primary video adapter and they are auto, and onboard card. When set to auto the Nvidia card gets a signal but the Radeon does not. There are no conflicts in the device manager, and all of the drivers are up to date.
When I change the bios option to onboard card the Radeon adapter gets a signal but the other monitor cannot be detected and in device manager there is a yellow exclamation mark next to Standard VGA adapter and a code 10 error that states the device could not be started.
I have powered down, and unplugged every cable, I also tried to use the integrated VGA adapter to the Intel G31/G33/Q33/Q35 Graphics Controller but the computer will not even boot. I get
"System Halted
Attention Unsupported Video Configuration Detected"
I have two monitors, both work fine as standalone but Windows will not detect either as a secondary.
Please help me someone, I am so used to having my helpdesk email open in one monitor and all of my other work in the other monitor.
This computer is running an ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro. It does support dual monitors...(I've had dual monitors active on this card before, but never on Windows 7.) But since installing windows 7, I can't even get it to detect the second monitor. I want to run the setup with the CRT as the primary monitor and the HD as the secondary.
I'm using a television (32p) as a second monitor in extended mode so that I can watch a movie in the TV and play a game in the monitor (this was my main goal). Monitor and TV lays in two different ambients, both connected to the same pc, one by normal VGA cable and the other by HDMI. I managed to differentiate the audio output so that VLC player sends it's audio to the HDMI (so that only the TV plays it) and the rest of system sounds, media players and games outputs to the speakers (basically only the VLC audio is directed to another output device). I reached my goal so that I can watch a movie fullscreen in the TV and play a game in the monitor fullscreen too without any interference from one another (nor audio or video).
The thing is, because I have the TV in another ambient I can't actually see what's going on in it, as I just "throw" the VLC window to the TV from my main monitor. And here's the question: There's a way to see the TV's desktop in my monitor? Without having to set it as main monitor so to not really switch between desktops.. The perfect thing would be if I could see the TV's desktop in a window like in remote desktops applications.
I have a three monitor set up. Whenever I open up a browser, either internet explorer or google chrome on monitors 2 and 3, after a few seconds it automatically drags my browser into my main monitor(monitor 1, where my start button and status bar is located)
Just updated from Vista 64 to Windows7 64 build7100 .
Using DellWFP 32" monitor and ATI v7200 video card.
My desktop will not extend all the way left to right or top to bottom on my monitor.
It has black bar around desktop extending to edges of monitor.
When I set screen resolution to max 2560x1280 or recommended 1280x800 , then desktop goes full height and width of monitor. However these settings do not work for me at all.
Any other resolution setting and desktop is centered on monitor, very small with black all around it.
Here is image I took with my camera, as a screen shot only displays the desktop. This shows how the desktop is residing within the monitor. I've tried every resolution setting there is for this video card , checked to make sure I had the latest drivers also.
I have a weird problem. I have used a Verto 9600GSO in a custom ASUS build without too many issues, but the other day I lost one of my two sticks of system RAM and now the video card isn't seen in the device manager. I can get video from the onboard video port, but nothing from the video card. The worst part is that I know the 9600GSO is in good working order as it worked flawlessly on another system, and another card worked as expected in this system. Why does it seem that my aftermarket 9600GSO doesn't want to work without both sticks of RAM?
I am building a new computer and I want to go with a dual screen setup. I was wondering if I should go with a GTX 670 2GB GPU or two Sapphire Radeon 7870s. If not specifically these cards, let me know what you think. Is it better to have a single GPU with dual DVI output or two slightly cheaper GPUs using crossfire?
