im running win 7 ultimate x86
any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Primary: Samsung Syncmaster 19 Inch widesreen 1400 * 900 Secondary: LG E2541 25 Inch Widescreen 1980 * 1080 OS: Windows 7 64bit VideoCard: Nvidia Geforce 560 Ti
I use my primary mostly for browsing, msn, music players, Ventrilo etc etc,I want to use my secondary Monitor for gaming Watching Videos. However, when i want to use something Full screen on my secondary monitor it goes full screen on the primary monitor. I cant also run it in windowed mode and stretch it out to full screen, it does not allow me to do that, it goes back to the size of my primary Monitor.
Ps.I want this since i play mostly with fullscreen borderless or in windowed mode so i can still browse the internet or adjust music/ventrillo settings. I dont want to have an Taskbar below the game, so thats why i need it on the Second Monitor.
Is there any way in Windows 7 to force a specific full-screen program (like a game) to open on a secondary monitor? Or does full-screen stuff only work on the primary monitor?
I'm having a small problem in Windows 7, and that is the two screens I am using have different resolutions & aspect ratios (1680x1050 and 1920x1080). The problem is my second screen wallpaper stays the same size as my main monitor (1680x1050) instead of filling the entire area. I've tried all the different wallpaper options, Fill, Stretch, Centre, Tile etc, none seem to do anything. I have seen DisplayFusion (DisplayFusion: Multi-Monitor Taskbar and Desktop Wallpaper*|*Binary Fortress Software), but if possible i'd like to fix this little problem without third party software.
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but I have a wallpaper that is 3200x1200 resolution, and my two monitors are 1600x1200 each. The wallpaper will only mirror on both screens instead of half being on one screen and half being on the other... How can I get this to work properly?
In the power settings, I set the monitor off time to 10 minutes. When I get away from my computer more than 10 minutes, an invisible program start running. It uses harddisk like crazy, and I also hear the CPU fan working faster.I used "Process Explorer" to detect this program. I see a "svchost.exe" terminating in the last second as soon as I turn the monitor on by a mouse move or keyboard input. Unfortunately I am not able to see the parent process because it terminates immediately when the monitor turns on.
how can i set up dual monitor display on my imac running window 7 with parallels? I have no problem when I run mac but when I run window, dual display doesn't work. I heard AND radeon has some problem with window 7 display setting.
i am using dell studio 1737 and windows 7 x64.with latest driver obtained from dell site.cuz i could not find it on intel site.it has intel GMA 4500MHD.
anyhow my problem is,i am using doom3 and on MS compatibility site it says, that it is compatible with windows7 but it does not run in full screen,it always runs in short mode, from vertical angle it runs in full length but in horizantal,it leaves border on both left and right side, almost an inch.
i searched for it lots and found that i must check my intel vga main settings panel to allow it use full screen which i have attached with, the screenshot.it is using full screen mode, but it is not using full screen,
i installed vista on my drive D.and in it,it used full screen resolution.
my laptop has an ati x1600 mobility card and is outputting via hdmi (mini dvi-actually) to an ASUS VH242H (full 1080p) monitor. When I had this connected running xp I had not problem with the screen resolution and size, but now that I'm running windows 7 the 1920x1080 resolution is available, but the picture doesn't fill the whole screen, there is like a 1" black box around the displayed screen.
I believe it has something to do with my display driver, I'm currently using the one provided by windows update.
I run win 7 sp1 on dell inspiron 1520.Wenn i open some programs or games, there are two black parts at the right and the left of the screen.I have also uptated all my drivers using widows update and also drivers genius professional.wenn i was running xp, there wasn t this problem.here are the screen shots
i am running windows7 ultimate x64 but my problem is,that when i run doom3,it does not come in full screen,it has 1inch border left from both left side and right side...it does never come on full screen.i even changed option to use high resolution, full screen but it didn't solve problem, then somewhere on net i read, hit alt+enter,i did this too.but still problem didn't solve.
i am using dell studio laptop 1737,and it has intel GMA 4500MHD vga,i hav downloaded the driver which is latest for it even for windows 7 (from dell...i couldn't find it on intel)
lately i installed NFS most wanted, then NFS carbon..both had same problem as doom3.they are not using full screen.but in my intel vga properties,it says that it is using full screen.i have attached the image of my vga panel.

I have a project I'm doing where I have up to 5 monitors. I have a video that I want to play, but I want it to be FULL SCREEN and stretched to every screen. Is there a software that can do this? I know I could just pull the edges of the window to fit, but that will look tacky and is unacceptable.I know there are hardware solutions, but I would prefer software.
It wont run in full screen always in middle. I tried messing with game options but it doesn't work for all games, I really need this fixed. I am using Radeon HD 5470. Windows 7 intel core i5 4gb ddr3 rams.
I am using Windows 7. I use external monitor connected to my notebook. When ever i connect the laptop to external monitor through VGA cable, It gives display on external monitor but not full screen. I have to reboot everytime to get full screen display which is annoying a lot.
I have just installed a dual monitor set-up on my PC. 1 connected with DVI and the other with HDMI. While using both screens 1 has a yellow tint (the right screen) but when I switch back to using just the single monitor (left screen) then that screen has the yellow tint?
I running a dual monitor setup with an LCD monitor and a plasma tv. I want to be able to have screensavers run independently on each monitor, so if I'm doing something on the LCD, but not on the plasma, then the screensaver will start on the plasma but not the lcd. If the screensaver doesn't start then the plasma tv it will get an image burn in.
There was a time, back in XP, that one could choose to use different wallpapers on each of the monitors connected to a computer...at least two of them. Is that no longer possible?
i use a triple-head configuration with my center monitor specified as primary display. i have made some 3x Wide screen wallpapers, and i set them as the desktop backgrounds. it works fine with one caveat:
the images left most border starts on the center display --the image is triple wide, but the right-most third wraps around the the left display.
any ideas on how to properly center the image? i need the center display to be the primary as certain applications throw a fit when they are run on a non-primary channel.
how can I play a video in jet audio (or any other media program) on one monitor while I play a fullscreen game on the other. I can get it to work with streams off of website like own3d.tv and twitch.tv, and I can even run the streams in full screen. However when I try to run a movie through jet audio or even just play music through zune player, they freeze up. The audio will still come through, but either the picture is frozen in place or the zune player seems to get frozen.
I have 2 Samsung SyncMaster 2243 monitors running off of a ATI Radeon 4670 graphics card.
I have downloaded some wallpapers that are wide enough to cover both monitors (large panoramas atc). But it just displays whatever will fit on my main monitor and duplicates it on the secondary monitor (This is only the case with my wallpapers, not the rest of the desktop: shortcuts, start menu etc.). I'm sure this is just a user error on my part.
edit: If I choose the "tile" option. It will ALMOST do what I want. The picture will extend across both monitors, but if it is not quite long enough/tall enough it will start the tiling.
Is there any program for Windows 7 (x64) that can set up a wallpaper for folders' background? I wanna put some pictures on the background of my "Games", "Music" etc. folders but don't know any software that can do it.
I was having a problem with dual monitor using 7127 build. But only when I use newest NVIDIA drivers. My tv just flashes a few times, and I can see that fish a couple of times, but then it just goes to like no signal. If I use default drivers which are installed on windows install, then it works fine, but then I dont have NVIDIA control panel and some other features.
My video card is GF 8800GTS 650M 512MB DDR3 DUAL DVI TV PCIE. I would like to know if anyone else is having this problem and If it has been fixed in the newest build, so I could be arsed to do a clean install.
I am running a dual monitor setup with my TV hooked up via HDMI to my laptop.
Everything was working fine before, I always had the laptop as my main display yet I could play a video or a game fullscreen on the TV.
Since a couple of days, as soon as I put something in fullscreen, it immediately goes on my laptop, regardless if it's open on my TV or my laptop. I don't remember changing/installing anything that could've changed that...
I checked a bit in the AMD vision software and the Windows control pannel but I can't seem to solve my problem without switching my TV as the main display. I also made a quick search on google as well as here but the problems were mainly with Flash, which isn't in cause here.
Here are my system specs:
Toshiba Satellite L75D Windows 7 home premium 64-bit AMD Radeon 6520G
I have just did a clean install of Windows 7 ultimate from XP and I am unable to get my dual monitors to work like they did in XP.
I have a DVI Radeon graphics card plugged into the agp slot, and a Nvidia geforce vga adapter plugged into a pci slot of my dell optiplex 755. When I am in the screen resolution settings the second monitor cannot be detected.
In bios I have 2 options under primary video adapter and they are auto, and onboard card. When set to auto the Nvidia card gets a signal but the Radeon does not. There are no conflicts in the device manager, and all of the drivers are up to date.
When I change the bios option to onboard card the Radeon adapter gets a signal but the other monitor cannot be detected and in device manager there is a yellow exclamation mark next to Standard VGA adapter and a code 10 error that states the device could not be started.
I have powered down, and unplugged every cable, I also tried to use the integrated VGA adapter to the Intel G31/G33/Q33/Q35 Graphics Controller but the computer will not even boot. I get
"System Halted
Attention Unsupported Video Configuration Detected"
I have two monitors, both work fine as standalone but Windows will not detect either as a secondary.
Please help me someone, I am so used to having my helpdesk email open in one monitor and all of my other work in the other monitor.
Can't change desktop wallpaper and all my program files folder are empty?I think it could be a virus or something. I have been told this can be useful.

This computer is running an ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro. It does support dual monitors...(I've had dual monitors active on this card before, but never on Windows 7.) But since installing windows 7, I can't even get it to detect the second monitor. I want to run the setup with the CRT as the primary monitor and the HD as the secondary.
