I have a long vertical line (about 4 times the length of the text cursor and about 3/8" to the right of the text cursor) in fields that I would normally enter text. I have tried all of the control panel settings that I think would affect the cursor like themes and mouse pointer settings. This is my wife's computer and she told me that it started doing that a few weeks ago. I am not aware of any new programs except the usual Windows updates and anti-virus updates.
Is it possible with Win7 to change any picture (Jpeg, png, bmp etc) into an icon file to use for a folder image?I just realised that its not an actual folder... its a shortcut which has a folder as an icon, Its actually a shortcut to a folder on another drive, but I'd still like to change it to an image I choose.
About a week ago thumbnail images suddenly stopped showing (mainly .jpgs & .pngs) in several of my folders. It seemed to be fairly random across all folders & drives (2 partitions on C drive) whereby some display correctly within a folder but most now show as windows photo viewer icons.Images uploaded in "My Pictures Folder" on C drive are not affected.
I have done the obvious:- 1. in folder options > always show icons, never thumbnails (unchecked) 2. deleted & rebuilt the thumbnail cache 3. run malwares scans (system is clean) 4. done restores (Microsoft & Adobe updates) 5. selected medium icons to view . . .
Also, using the Windows Photo Viewer default preview pane no longer works if Id/click on an image it opens in a new window.I had been using Mystic Thumbs successfully for a while to enable me to see .svg, .pspimages & .psd files (as a graphic designer I want quick access to these) Uninstalling it hasn't made any difference.
I installed a program that works with images and then uninstalled it because it doesn't do the thing I needed it to. However, in a Winrar-style fashion, thumbnails of the images it would work with are replaced with the program's icon. This effect has stayed even though I uninstalled it. It's just an annoyance, but is there a way that I can get the image thumbnails back?
i have dual monitors on a geforce 9800gtx+ with newest drivers from nvidia, and i have some weirdness when it comes to fullscreen videos, if i am playing a video in wmp or watching a Internet video in fullscreen on either monitor, when i click on the other monitor it come out of full screen on the monitor playing the video.

I would like to know if its possible (and how to do it if so) to justify a paragraph of text in Word 2007 to gradually get narrower. What I mean is, id like the first line of text to be longer than the one after and so on until I end up with something like this,I want the 2nd line to start further to right of first line and end closer to left and so on. Im struggling to show an example but hope you know what I mean. Basically centre justified but going down in a V shape
After a hard drive crash and rebuild, I restored my picture files from a backup image (WIN 7 backup/restore). But now the system saying that the .jpg files are invalid, no matter what program I have them open with.
My HD on the Win7 laptop would not read (later diagnosed as CRC errors, etc, etc), so, I attached it to my MacBook and managed to get all the photos off it. They came across as .jpg OK, but when I put them to a Win 7 OS they will not open.
This problem also started today on my system with 64 bit windows. The problem occurs when adding tags or other editing jpg file types in all the graphic programs i have on my machine. The problem only started today and has not been a problem in the last 3 years i have been using windows 7 including betas.
The files attributes are being changed by the operating system during system saves to being a hidden file type when it appears native windows 7 system calls are made, it isn't happening during inital file saves from my camera or scanner. Yes the files are viewable in win exploerer when the show hidden files is check in file and search options and files can be changed back to being standard files by manually changing the attributes but this shouldn't be happening at all. JPG files are not a reserved system file type that are typically hidden my windows to prevent them from being deleted by ignorant system users.
Is it possible to have vertical auto scroll when viewing folders and files in windows Explorer, ie. click mouse wheel and then move downwards to scroll down and vice versa?Currently my WE does not allow me to select auto scroll vertically.
I have a computer which is pretty old except for the video card which is 2 years old and the psu which is literally 1 month old.Today morning my girlfriend turned the computer on and it started displaying striped flashing multi-colored lights. I turned it off immediately. When I turned it on after 3 hours, It went to start up repair then it displayed a Fatal Error BSOD. Then it proceeded to switch to flashing multi-colored lights which resulted in burning smell from the computer.
I have an issue and think noone can solve it. This problem is randomly occured during commonly pc works such as web browsing, gaming, typing in notepad ,etc ; Freezing with Colored Vertical lines.Somtimes this ballon appears with such a message like "Display driver has stopped working and has been recovered".
I wonder if anyone knows if there is a way I can restore an image I accidentally overwrote. I use Windows 7 and yesterday, I created a Jpeg file in Photoshop. This morning, between waking up and taking coffee and talking to someone, I accidentally overwrote this file by downloading a photo from my email (when the dialogue box asked Replace this file? I inexplicably clicked on YES!)
I have restored my Windows to a previous date - the file stayed the same. I went to restore the folder which contained the file to a previous date, but there were only 2 dates - this morning and 2 days ago (when the file didn't exist). I clicked on this morning hoping it would take me back to the moment before I downloaded the photo, but it looks as though it's taken me to the moment AFTER. Now I can't do anything because there are no previous options (in the folder or picture) to restore to.
It looks as though I'll just have to cut my losses and spend the day re-creating the lost Jpeg but I thought there just might be another way...
Is it possible to pin a jpeg file to the task bar so that I can easily open it with a single click from wherever I am. It is possible to pin it to the jump list for some programs on my Taskbar (eg Calculator & Notepad) but not to others (eg Explorer). I can also pin it to the Start menu. However, trying to pin it directly to the Taskbar fails.
And the reason for all this? The jpeg is a picture of the 2011 calendar which I would like to be able to call up with a single click from wherever I am and whatever is on the screen at the time.
I did a photo recover. Some of my photos were recovered, but the ones I wanted came out corrupt. Some of them come out really weird, but most of them say "Cannot Open This Filetype" all of the photos are .jpg even the ones the are working. How do I fix this so that I can see all/most of them perfect or near perfectly.
This is one of those things that could be worded in so many ways, there may be a solution out there but I have no idea what phrasing may have been used in such a case. Basically, I recently switched to using a vertical taskbar on the left side, more workable area on widescreen monitors. I love it so far, except for the change in system tray behavior. They're doubled up, which is fine, but if I have an odd number of icons it disturbs my general arrangement. This is hugely annoying for me as I frequently use the system tray to open multiple applications I always have open in the background, such as IRC or AIM.
I took some cell phone videos in the portrait position recently which translates to showing only in the horizontal position in MM or whatever editing software I have. Unlike pics, I can't find a plug in or software that will let me flip it from that horizontal to vertical (portrait) position.
My browser recently glitched out, now when I click anywhere in my browser, the vertical | bar that's supposed to appear when you click something such as a search bar pops up. How would I fix this?
Having problem with graphics not showing up in email (Windows Live and Thunderbird). I have tried at least ten suggestions from internet but no help. Found that .jpeg is not listed in default - how do I make it show?
I can't see my JPEG files in comptuer / C Drive, but I know they are there. I can open them in photoshop through file / recent. It's as if Windows is not indexing the JPEG files..
How do I change TIFF images to JPEG? I do not have photoshop or anything like that. I have tried many things and nothing seems to work without buying something. Is there any way to change it without buying something?
