Apr 23, 2012I just wanted some advice because I have never done this before. We just bought some new Lenovo Edge laptops for work and also bought USB 2.0 Port Replicators with Digital Video Part number: 0A33942 to use with them. Our other setup was a Lenovo L512 with a Mini dock which the L512 has been discontinued. My question is can I use a DVI-to-dual DVI or VGA to display the video to two 22" monitors? How will windows recognize the monitors and what about performance? Some people here like the screen so small that I can barely read it and others like it large enough to read it from 10 feet away. The only thing that they are used for is Internet browsing and document viewing. Nothing graphic intensive.

Oct 9, 2009I have an LCD TV with HDMI I like to watch movies on from my laptop. It's got an ATI HD2600 card.
I had issues setting up dual screens, extended vs clone etc. I just wanted a quick an d easy plug in to watch the movie, unplug to compute again. But would always have to adjust resolution on the TV from 1650 to 1920 manually.
Best I could do was to hook up the HDMI, disable the laptop display and it would show 1920 on the TV and when I unplug the HDMI, the display would come back on and show it's 1650. This is the only way I've figured out so far that would switch to the right resolution automaically. Plugging the HDMI back in would kill the laptop monitor and show on the TV.

Apr 16, 2012My old monitor has problems turning on, I can leave it on for 30hrs before it decides to display a picture, or I can manipulate it by unplugging the DVI cable from the back, but sometimes even that takes a few tries. It's off warranty and for reference it's a Samsung SyncMaster 226BW.So I bought a new monitor and I have it plugged in using HDMI, but a problem I get is that when both monitors are plugged in the HDMI has no display until it gets to Windows, so I cannot see the boot process of my PC, because my old monitor as explained above has problems turning on. Was a hindrance today when I was tinkering with my SSD and had to go to BIOS, and frankly I'd like to be able to see in case anything goes wrong, like a BSOD or Windows update etc.

i was under the impression that dvi d and hmdi would work together from the graphics card, but this appears not to be the case. I can have them both running via hmdi/dvi i or dvi d and dvi i but not hmdi dvi d.

As i alreadfy had a computer i thought i would start using a dual monitor set up in which i can have two screens doing different things, for instance one monitor plays a film while the other is on facebook. how ever when i received the computer it only had one AV monitor port on it. This meant i couldnt do a dual set up for even use the LCD monitor to its potential. So i bought a AV splitter cable to plug both my monitors into one port. but this just left me with two monitors doing the same thing and having to use the bad resolution from the old monitor on both monitors.

Oct 28, 2012I'm trying to hook up my TV with my computer, and for the most part it's working. The video goes through and I get how to control it and everything. The only thing not working is the sound.
I'm using an HDMI to HDMI cable, and like I said the video is fine. Also, when the cable is plugged into my boyfriend's laptop, the sound comes out of the TV.
So this must mean the problem is with my computer specifically. Although, this computer is only a month old, so I wouldn't think anything is out of date.
