View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm pretty proficient with general use on computers and I want to install Windows 7 pro x64 on my new rig. On the Asus website driver support only goes to vista, and I have read that the vista x64 drivers are not supported for Windows 7. how to install Windows 7 on this machine? I get into installation and it asks for a CD/DVD drive device driver is needed to carry on etc. I am just wondering if that is a driver for the DVD ROM or another device on the mobo.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an ASUS P5E-VM HDMI mobo and running Windows 7 Professional. The mobo has a VGA and HDMI and dual monitor capabilities. I have my computer monitor on VGA and my TV on HDMI. When I have both monitor and TV connected, I lose the Windows 7 startup animation. It uses the Vista animation instead. When I have just the computer monitor alone, on VGA or HDMI, the Windows 7 animation comes back. How can I make the Windows 7 be used even if both monitor and TV are connected?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an Asus K61-IC dual booting Windows 7 Professional x64 (default) & Fedora 16 x64. In Windows, whenever I plug in a HDMI cable to watch a movie on my LCD TV audio will only come out of laptop speakers and when I open audio properties it says HDMI audio not connected or something to that effect (at the moment, I'm not able to connect it to the TV) and it will not let me click on properties, but when I open the driver properties, it tells me everything is working fine. I cannot figure this out for s#%t.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a HTPC setup. PC includes an ASUS MB with on-board video and audio, including options for either separated analog 7.1 audio out or HDMI out (among other output options). Current setup routes Audio and Video via HDMI to Pioneer VSX-1020 A/V receiver, and routes video from there to HDTV via another HDMI cable. OS is Win7 Ultimate x64, w/SP1.
Exact model for mb is here: ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 AM3
When I play audio files, the receiver can fake the signal into all 5 channels (I don't have a sub, so the .1 is not relevant here), so there's no issue of the receiver not accessing the available speakers.
The main issue is this: When I look into the Sound Control Panel, under Playback Devices, the active/default device is ATI HDMI Output. Also listed are Speakers (not plugged in), Realtek Digital Output and Realtek Digitial Output (Optical). I do not have any analog cables plugged in, nor do I have an S/PDIF (optical/coax) connected. The HDMI works, but only gives me the option of Stereo (2ch). When I go to the Configure screen for the ATI HDMI Output, I see a list of Audio Channels, but that list ONLY contains Stereo.
Ho can I connect a 32 bit windows 7 asus to a projector and have diaplayed on both the projector and the monitor? Fn F8 only dosplays on either one of them but not simultaneously.
View 1 Replies View Related1. I bought an ASUS K52 laptop. It has a 500 GB drive and a Win 7 x64 Home premium OS.
2. And then I install Windows 7 x86
3. Now I want to back Windows 7 x64 from Hidden partition but when I ran recovery (pressing F9), it just stuck, didn't want to work and then returned an error message with "cannot connect do a device on your computer".
I thing MBR is corrupted. How to repair that and how can I make the ASUS recovery part work? I tried startup repair but but nothing seems to work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using a Laptop with a dead screen by running an external monitor from vga port. I am trying to duplicate this monitor on Sony HD tv using an USB adapter to HDMI. On the first go around I got my desktop ...minus any task bars or icons. on the Sony plus sound but could not get the complete desktop to display. (I am thinking now this might have been resolution trouble and my icons were just out sight) Videos play fine on vga monitor but see just windows logo on Sony.
When I go to display settings I see "1/2 multimonitors" and it shows the Sony as 3. That is when I get lost. If I click on identify it shows a giant " 1" and "2" on my vga monitor. at the same time. Then my choices are duplicate, extend, and show desktop. Which should I use.? I am not sure if my vga monitor is 1 or 2.
There is also a "connect to projector". I messed around there and killed the vga monitor (my only one) Had to restore in safe mode to get back to normal vga output.
Look worse than the VGA out on my laptop? The HDMI out has black bars on the left, right, bottom and top. The VGA looks crisp and clear and fills the whole screen on my TV.

I have my Computer hooked up to the TV through a HDMI Cable and My TV is hooked to a surround sound receiver through
red and white cables.
From Audio Out on the TV
The TV is a Toshiba 37HL57
I tried installing new Realtek and ATI drivers, but I still couldn't get the surround working.
I installed these:-
ftp://webuser:WN4Ic2i@218.210.127.133/pc/audio/HDMI_R229.exe
ftp://WebUser:DAx7h9V@66.104.77.130/pc/audio/Vista_Win7_R229.exe
https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.ati.com/drivers/9-7_beta_win7_64_dd_CC.exe
But working I mean, I go to control panel then sound and for HDMI is only lets me select stereo.
After some research I figured maybe its because the HDMI goes to the TV and the TV itself only has two speakers.
Still there must be a way to do this.
I can't do HDMI to the surround receiver as its a bit old
But, its seems to be surround when playing movies through VLC...
But I tried this surround test.
http://www.halfgaar.net/media/chan-id.zip
and you could defintiely tell there was "audio coming from different corners". But, when the test announced which speaker the sound should be coming out, it wasn't always accurate.
My HDMI connection from my old laptops works but my new x64 does not want to work. I do see the chanel open on the tv when I plug in but dont see video or hear sound.Just a blank screen. Under sound setting, the HDMI option is there but It wont allow me to set it as the default
