View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an LCD TV with HDMI I like to watch movies on from my laptop. It's got an ATI HD2600 card.
I had issues setting up dual screens, extended vs clone etc. I just wanted a quick an d easy plug in to watch the movie, unplug to compute again. But would always have to adjust resolution on the TV from 1650 to 1920 manually.
Best I could do was to hook up the HDMI, disable the laptop display and it would show 1920 on the TV and when I unplug the HDMI, the display would come back on and show it's 1650. This is the only way I've figured out so far that would switch to the right resolution automaically. Plugging the HDMI back in would kill the laptop monitor and show on the TV.
How to extend dvi output to multiple hdmi monitors? Have Samsung Series 7 Slate tablet computer running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Nature of computer prevents swapping out graphics card/module.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an xfx radeon hd 6790. I am using the hdmi port and the display port for two tvs and I am using the vga (I think its called the vga) port it sez right on the box that it supports 3 monitors. I can switch between any two that I want but I cant get all three to work at the same time. I try to use all three at the same time I get "to extend the display another display must be disabled".
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy old monitor has problems turning on, I can leave it on for 30hrs before it decides to display a picture, or I can manipulate it by unplugging the DVI cable from the back, but sometimes even that takes a few tries. It's off warranty and for reference it's a Samsung SyncMaster 226BW.So I bought a new monitor and I have it plugged in using HDMI, but a problem I get is that when both monitors are plugged in the HDMI has no display until it gets to Windows, so I cannot see the boot process of my PC, because my old monitor as explained above has problems turning on. Was a hindrance today when I was tinkering with my SSD and had to go to BIOS, and frankly I'd like to be able to see in case anything goes wrong, like a BSOD or Windows update etc.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've recently switched from Windows Vista to Windows 7 x64. I use the word switched instead of upgraded because I formatted my old drive instead of installing over Vista.I have been using two screens for forever now, both LG Flatron L1750HQ, both are digital and have served me well. My graphics card is an NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS, which has two digital outputs. I have the latest NVIDIA drivers, and I have the drivers for my screens (though they are old, June 2007, and I can't find any newer ones... which might imply an EDID problem? Dunno). I have also run every Windows 7 update known to man.To describe the problem: only one of them ever works at a time (which implies the screens themselves are okay), and both outputs work as well. To top that, Win 7 does recognize I have a dual display, but one is always in digital power-saving mode (no signal, I guess). When my computer boots up, the left screen shows the boot process, while the right one has no signal. When Win 7 boots, its the other way around.
In the NVIDIA -and- the Win 7 control panels both screens are visible, shown side by side, and set up properly with and without the screens' driver, but that does nothing to solve the problem.I've also examined my BIOS, but I doubt its anything to do with that since I haven't touched my BIOS in ages and it worked just fine on Vista. I'd wager that if I go ahead and install Kubuntu on this machine, I'll get my dual screens back, but I don't want Kubuntu.
I'm using Windows 7 x64 Ultimate. I have my power options set to turn off the monitor after 20 minutes and the computer is not set to sleep or hibernate. When over 20 minutes has expired, the monitors do not turn off. On rare occasion they do, though (by 'they' I am referring to dual monitors).
I Googled this issue and tried disabling "Allow this device to wake the computer" on the properties page for that network device in device manager. This didn't work. What could be preventing my displays from automatically turning off? Note that during this time I have torrents running, so I'm not sure if it is indeed still the network connectivity that is causing this issue. I never had this kind of problem in Windows XP.
I have a Lenovo H405-7223-1GU that I bought in June 2011. Yesterday I bought a Philips 32" HDTV 720p 60Hz. My PC won't recognize my TV at a monitor via HDMI cable. The ports on the TV and the cable is fine because I can connect my DVD player with no issues. Most help is saying to right click desktop, click "screen resolution"and then just tell the PC it's ok to send info over HDMI. That would be fine but I can't have my monitor and HDMI plugged in at the same time. As soon as the HDMI is plugged in my monitor (VGA) goes blank then comes back on with only the background image showing. No start button, no icons, no toolbar
View 1 Replies View Relatedperformed a search and couldn't find this, but i am trying to connect a new second monitor via dvi d dual link cable, however i get an error message that ccc cannot support two monitors from different graphic engines, the other monitor is connected via hmdi.
i was under the impression that dvi d and hmdi would work together from the graphics card, but this appears not to be the case. I can have them both running via hmdi/dvi i or dvi d and dvi i but not hmdi dvi d.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wife has a new Acer netbook which came with 7 Starter. I upgraded it to Home Premium 32bit. She is complaining that after closing the lid, or hibernating, or sleep mode, it take at least two minutes before the netbook connects so that she can use the internet. My two laptops do not have this problem at all. All three machines use the same router.
The signal strength icon on the system tray shows a yellow blob which stays until a connection is made. It doesn't always happen, but enough for hair tugging sessions!
I have an asus G72Gx laptop running windows 7 home premium. Went through the nightmare of my wireless antenna never turning back on and now I am facing a new issue.
My laptop is taking a really long time to connect to a network. And I mean a REALLY long time. Minutes. When it should be near instant.
The problem happens on both the wireless and the wired NIC. I have also tried this at multiple locations: home, airports, hotels all with the same result. Not only does it take a while for it to establish a connection to the router, but it seems to take the same amount of "extra time" for it to get internet connectivity. It will initially connect to a network and windows will give the "Limited Access" message. And then a couple minutes later I will have internet access.
This is absolutely driving me nuts. Also it seems to have the added side effect of making it difficult to connect to lobbies in the Starcraft 2 beta. It might be unrelated, but I digress.
Any Thoughts?
Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit
I usually let the laptop go to sleep and when i wake the computer, the wireless connection takes about 2 or 3 minutes to reconnect to the network.
I have another win 7 laptop that connects as soon as it wakes up but this one does not do that. The wireless connects fine when i boot the computer but its just after Sleep and wake.
The wireless symbol right bottom of the screen tells me that there are wireless networks in the vicinity but takes some time to connect; I have set my network to connect automatically if it detects it.
I'm encountering a very frustrating problem connecting to my office PC (which is Windows 7 Professional). No matter what client I use (Windows 7 built in remote desktop from a W7HP machine, Remote Desktop Client on Android, etc.) when I log on to the host machine it re-logs me on. Basically it seems to kill the previous log on session, logs it off, and then logs me in anew. This is really annoying. It closes all open apps and makes me reopen them. It takes much longer than a usual connection. I can't seem to find any reason for why this might happen, the only difference between this and the thousands of connections I've made over the years using RDP is that this is being done over our work VPN (A SonicWall VPN client). I don't see why that would make any difference but it's the only variable.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my laptop takes forever to connect to a shared drive on my desktop on my home network. I've tried connecting to it by mapping the drive and through windows explorer and same thing. Sometimes it won't even connect at all. I don't have this issue with other computers on the network. And when I say a long time I am meaning like 5 minutes or more. At first it was maybe only 1-2 minutes but it is getting worse. My mouse icon has had the spinning ring around it trying to connect the whole time I have been writing this. Both computers are Win 7 pro x64 with sp1. Desktop is wired directly to the router and laptop has excellent signal strength. Both have DHCP reservations set in the router. The way I usually connect is by starting a run box and typing \[desktop pc name][share] then it just spins

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to hook up my TV with my computer, and for the most part it's working. The video goes through and I get how to control it and everything. The only thing not working is the sound.
I'm using an HDMI to HDMI cable, and like I said the video is fine. Also, when the cable is plugged into my boyfriend's laptop, the sound comes out of the TV.
So this must mean the problem is with my computer specifically. Although, this computer is only a month old, so I wouldn't think anything is out of date.
