Unable To Remove Any Registry Key In The HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Hive
Jun 26, 2011
I cannot, for the life of me, delete any key in the HKLM hive. Things I've tried: Logging in as administratorRunning an elevated regeditSetting Full Permissions to edit the keyTaking ownership of the keyDoing all of the above in regedt32Running in safe modeMalwarebyte's Reg AssassinReinstalling Windows (I didn't reinstall for this purpose, I had a different reason for doing so, but the reinstall didn't change anything.)I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate.
Windows 7 Pro Administrator plus one User (member of Administrators only)Logged in as User , ran several install shields to install couple of related programs and applications that fomr a Video analytics system on the PC.Typically there will be a registry hive with several sub hives and keys but with the main group titled Citilog.I have installed this software on a 100+ XP's and it always produces this Registry hive in the same place HkeyLocalMachine /software/Citilog 100% of the time this hive/keys key could always be found using reg.edit from the User in which the programs were installed. i recently installed the same program on 7 Win7Pro PC's that had 1 Admin, 2 users member of Administrators only.I ran install shields from User1 on all 7 PC's . The HKeyLocalmachine/software/Citilog registry hive is nowhere in this Users registry or even in the Admin registry or User2 registry but all programs are working . I can do a Search registry using Citilog as search term and I will get several smaller keys form around other parts of the registry but I never see the main Registry "folder" Citilog.
I want to use registry remote to edit registry of another computer in my network,But I can't access HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE(It's say I have no permission )I use administrator (built_in) user,But i can't change permission by registry remote
I Don't Need Use Your Uninstaller or Revo Uninstall But I Need Use CClearner. How to Use It For Delete Registry After Remove Some Programs In Add/Remove In Control Panal or Unuse Items ?
One More Question.. About System Locale .. I Seletct English (US) @ Windows Install Screen. But Now I Need Change It << I Can do It ? Is No Bad Result After Change Because Is Not Original Locale Install [English (US)] ?
I recently installed a crap copy of Adobe CS5 that I was told was good, and would like to install a new one but have been told that I might want to delete any traces of the old copy before proceeding, this includes deleting any entries that have been made in the registry.
I am attempting to uninstall (and then reinstall) Office 2010 Prof Plus. I am not able to remove it from Add/Remove programs, have read through some help info and attempted to use the Windows Fixit, Revo & Ripoutoffice2007, none of which have removed it (Revo didn't take it out and then pulled up a million 'left over' files, none of which I deleted).
I've been meaning to look into the fact that I couldn't access my Task Manager anymore at all or even when I try to run regedit I get messages like "Registry editing has been disabled by your computer administrator" even though I am one of two of the only administrators for this machine.
Let me see if I can explain this. Since installing a registry editor called "Context Menu Take Ownership" a couple of days ago, I have had problems saving files to my desktop and accessing files located on my When I choose to save a file .. save as>desktop, It takes a full two minutes for my desktop to load in my "save as" dialog box. I can't change to say "documents" until the desktop has fully loaded into the "save as" dialog box.I then downloaded the remove "Take Ownership" reg editor at the same website above. Ran it and sure enough, there is no more option to "take ownership" of a file/directory when I right click.
However, I still have the same problem saving to or accessing a file located on the desktop, from a program (any program, on my computer, or on a website such as a "upload images") using the "save as" or trying to access the desktop to retrieve a file. This makes me think there are some registry entries that need to be deleted. I don't know what though.I should also point out, I did a system restore and system restore could not complete because of a registry issue.Couple screen pics attached. One showing a blank "save as" dialog box with desktop selected. The other is the desktop fully loaded after about 2 minutes.I originally installed take ownership because I could not get "read only" changed on a directory. It didn't even fix that. Rebooting did though.
I've unistalled Amd Driver from Device Manager, Unistalled Catalyst software and ran Driver Sweeper. There is only 3 registeries that the Driver Sweeper CAN'T delete and these are under SYSTEM folder. I've tried to change user privilegies but this far I've not succeeded.
While windows was uploading some updates yesterday, I cleaned my registry using Iolo's system mechanic tool and that's where the problems started. (I already read and understood your message: don't use those tools and stay out of your registry. A lesson I learned too late, unfortunately.)My computer rebooted and after a couple of minutes I noticed the message: " failure configuring windows features reverting changes ". I managed to bypass this loop by running in safe mode and recover my computer to a restore point in the past. This only worked partially: I get windows to run in normal mode but I get this message: "system failed while restoring the registry from the restore point. Restore point damaged or was deleted during restore". So it didn't restore but I can get into my windows now.So I don't get the 'reverting change loop' anymore, so I can access my computer but what's the mess? Well my computer is slow as hell.Like mentioned above, I already looked around on this forum and wrote down what I already tried. [code] My computer is terrible slow because of a registry defrag/optimization of a registry tool (in combination with windows update) --> I need to find a way to get back my old registry files but system recovery ain't working.
when i open regedit , i suddenly delete the wrong registry i want to delete , and appear this message "Unable to Delete all specific values." is that mean that registry not deleted right? is that mean that registry is safe? not intentionally want delete that registry ... and afraid if that registry been deleted ..
So, I wanted to free up some space on my hard drive, and I found this. The funny thing is, I don't even have 2.95 TB on my hard drive. Its a 640 GB. Anyway, I was wondering if any on here could tell me a way to fix this problem, and to get the "Uninstall or change a program" feature to stop lying to me.
I'm having a little problem with safely removing any of my external hard drives that I connect. The USB icon will show in the taskbar and when I place my mouse over it, it says Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media. But when I click it, it won't show the external drives to eject. I have even tried to the eject option by right clicking my external drive in my computer. But the eject option is not there anymore. Can anyone help me with this
Cloned the 2 hdds to the single using Norton Ghost. It works fine and the PC boots no problem - but only if the bios (Asus) is set to 'configure sata as RAID'. If I change to 'configure sata as IDE' it won't boot (bsod during windows loading screen).
The PC clearly thinks the new, single hdd is still a raid system - which presumably could cause problems when I upgrade the mobo. I have tried Windows 7 repair, fixmbr, fixboot, rebuild bcd... none of it makes any difference!
For quite some time I have been unable to to eject any USB/external hard drive devices that I have plugged into my computer. Using Process Explorer I've looked at the processes that are interfering with being to be able to eject devices.
Even if I do not have any files or programs open from that device, each one will have two explorer.exe processes running. However when I use find handle with Process Explorer on my main external hard drive there are these several processes running.

I am able to Close Handle on the explorer and svchost processes, but when I try on the system ones I get an error message reading, "Error opening process: the handle is invalid".
have to shut my comp down every time I want to eject.
I use Adobe Lightroom 4 to manage my photos. I had to reload my photos the other day. Today I was making changes in the data in my photos, when I finshed and saved the data I recevied a message that the photo was Read Only. Inless I get this resolved I will not be able to edit any of my prints.
I installed Mouse without Borders but when I realized that it would not work across the internet, I uninstalled it. I still get the splash on my screen when I start the computer. How do I get rid of it?

I uninstalled every piece of Microsoft Office 2007 but I can't uninstall KB940289. I tried all the 3 Microsoft fix this installer clear utility but It cannot uninstall KB940289. Unless the KB940289 is uninstalled it won't let me install Windows office 2010.I don't want to format my computer just for removing KB940289. Do you guys have any idea how to remove it?
My laptop has suddenly seized up and I think it might be to do with a security conflict - Norton security scan appears to now be on my laptop through, I think, some vigorous pop-ups which must have got past me. I've just installed - reinstalled - AVG 2013 (no idea why I lost it in the first place) so feel reasonably protected and want to try to get rid of Norton Security Scan to see if that unblocks the slowness. But it won't uninstall, claiming always to be running.
I have been using a program called Raw Therapee. I downloaded a new version and on installing it quit saying the old version must be removed. I could not find it listed in Revo Unistaller Pro, so I did a forced uninstall with the location of the main executable. This removed a lot of stuff. I checked the program folder and the folder and many files were still there, so I deleted them. I did a CCleaner in between and after. I then unhide and show system files and deleted the folders in the Appdata of main user and admin account, couldn't find it anywhere else. CCleaner again and reboot. Went to install the new version again and it claimed that the old version was still installed. I did a search for *aw The* and found an entry in the hidden Program Data Folder. In the Admin account it will not let me in this folder to delete any remnants of the old version of Raw Therapee.
Does anyone know how to remove the "safely remove hardware" icon in the taskbar? I do not mean hide it. I have my icons always show in the notification area because I don't like the arrow icon either.
I have a laptop HP PAVILION tx2550er. After installing AMD AHCI driver in the system tray shows the Safely Remove Hardware icon (my hard drive). How to remove (not hide!) the icon?
