Most of my Windows Live Mail contains embedded links. When I click on those links, I expect the URL there to be transferred to Firefox. Instead, I get a cryptic message from Windows Live Mail, "There was a problem sending the command to the program." Is there some simple trick that fixes this?
View 5 RepliesI have this MCE remote contol: CIT Media Remote Control 10 Metre Range Plug-and-Play.It works fine in conjunction with XBMC, with one slight problem.It acts as a replacement for the mouse by default, i.e. the direction keys control the cursor rather than submit key inputs.However, there is a 'toggle' button that then makes the inputs map to keyboard inputs, i.e. the direction keys then mirror the cursor keys.This 'toggle' mode is how I'd like the remote to work by default, rather than having to toggle into it.Is there a way to submit a remote keypress without actually doing it from the remote itself?
View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery time I try to open a Microsoft Word file or Excel file, a popup comes up displaying the "There was a problem sending the command to the program." message. Here is a list of things I've tried so far:
1. Deleted the "Data" registry key from the correct registry path.
2. Ran the "winword.exe /r" command from command prompt
3. Repaired Microsoft Office using the installation CD.
4. Ran the Microsoft Diagnostics (which didn't find any issues).
5. Reassociated the extensions in Control Panel > Default Programs.
6. Ensured that the "Run as administrator" checkbox isn't ticked in winword.exe's properties.

The only error message I receive is "A problem has occurred, please try again".
That's it.
I used to be able to send any document to the CD/DVD drive by right-clicking the required document and selecting "Send To" and then DVD Drive. Now the "Send To" drop down menu does not include a DVD/CD drive. I accessed the "SendTo" folder and found it did not have the required shortcut. I have added it now. However; it still does not appear in the drop-down menu. A possible clue is that if I go to "Computer"; the drive is listed as CD drive (not DVD/CD). Maybe the computer thinks that I only have a CD "read only" drive. And thus is not offering me the option to send a file to it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to trouble shoot my boss' laptop. We have tried to set him up on Windows Live to use while he is at home and on the road. We have a server and it is setup/configured on his laptop correctly as it works EVERYWHERE else besides his home. I am guessing it is a Firewall or Router Setting issue. Since I don't go to his home, I am unable to trouble shoot it there - His family has an IPAD an ITOUUCH a personal computer and another laptop and they all send and receive mail fine. It is just my boss' laptop - Windows 7 - Home Edition - 64bit - Dell. Thinking maybe I need to change the port # in the settings on Microsoft Live. BTW - we do have him set up to use the Exchange by logging into our IP - but he just cannot seem to get the hang of doing that - even though i have everything shortcutted and instructions on the desktop...Also have had him just use Log Me In - and he doesn't like the small screen..

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using a program called Raw Therapee. I downloaded a new version and on installing it quit saying the old version must be removed. I could not find it listed in Revo Unistaller Pro, so I did a forced uninstall with the location of the main executable. This removed a lot of stuff. I checked the program folder and the folder and many files were still there, so I deleted them. I did a CCleaner in between and after. I then unhide and show system files and deleted the folders in the Appdata of main user and admin account, couldn't find it anywhere else.
CCleaner again and reboot. Went to install the new version again and it claimed that the old version was still installed. I did a search for *aw The* and found an entry in the hidden Program Data Folder. In the Admin account it will not let me in this folder to delete any remnants of the old version of Raw Therapee.
When I try to run an RS private server, (which runs using java), It says this. I have attempted to make a path in my system variables, i named it "Java" and put it as C:Program Files (x86)Javajre6in and it still does not work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a laptop computer with Windows 7. This morning, every time I try to enter any program, I get a message which reads: Choose which program you want to open this file". This has never happened before. I tried going into Safe Mode, but the same message pops up when I attempt to open any program there as well. I tried scanning the computer with AVG, but am unable to because I get that same message. Is this some sort of virus? And what can I do to remove this message?
Also, I'm unable to go into regedit. I got a message which reads: File not found.
EDIT: I am able to access my programs in the Start menu. Now, I'm thinking that I might need to delete my shortcuts and replace them with new ones.
So I've been trying to uninstall a program off of my programs list and it continues to tell me that I am unable to do so because I am not the administrator. My account on my computer is the administrator account and it is the only account on my computer. This is the message it keeps telling me, "You must be an Administrator to remove the application. To remove the application you can log on to an Administrator account or contact your technical support group for assistance." I don't understand why it keeps telling me this because I am the administrator for my computer. I don't know how to go about approaching this problem and fixing it so any.

Using the original Vista, sp-1, there was no problem. After upgrade to Windows 7, recorded file types has been change from "Windows Movie" to "Windows TV", not even Nero can recognize the new extension.
