View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7 and my Windows Live Mail 2011 software was moved into the new Operating System. It is working perfectly except for a few minor problems like the following one. When opening the screen for a NEW MESSAGE, and then clicking on TO in order to select a contact from my List of Contacts, the following message will appear.WLM can not open this contact. I try again twice or more times, and my list of contacts will then open allowing me to select the contact or contacts I want.
View 5 Replies View RelatedQuote: With Microsoft Outlook 2010, you can stay connected beyond just e-mail messages. Sending and receiving text messages (SMS) in Microsoft Outlook 2010 is a convenient way to send a quick note to say you are running late, a reminder to a co-worker, or just to say Happy New Year!
With text messaging in Outlook 2010, you can also forward your upcoming Outlook schedule or important e-mail messages directly to your mobile device as a text message a great way to stay connected when you are on the go. Getting Started
There are two ways to set up text messaging in Outlook 2010. The easiest way is with a Windows phone running 6.1 with an update or 6.5, and connected to a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 account. With this setup, your text messages are synchronized from Outlook to your mobile device for sending. As an added bonus, messages that you receive are synchronized back to Outlook for easy reading in your Inbox.
If you dont have a Windows phone or an Exchange 2010 account, you can still configure text messaging in Outlook 2010 by signing up for a third-party service that sends text messages on your behalf. These services charge a nominal fee for message delivery, but there is a free trial period so you can try it out before you subscribe. Although the use of a third-party messaging service requires more initial setup, after connected, you can then send texts from the convenience of your computer. No longer will you be hunched over a tiny phone trying to add all of those addresses from your phone book just to say Be there in 10.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to trouble shoot my boss' laptop. We have tried to set him up on Windows Live to use while he is at home and on the road. We have a server and it is setup/configured on his laptop correctly as it works EVERYWHERE else besides his home. I am guessing it is a Firewall or Router Setting issue. Since I don't go to his home, I am unable to trouble shoot it there - His family has an IPAD an ITOUUCH a personal computer and another laptop and they all send and receive mail fine. It is just my boss' laptop - Windows 7 - Home Edition - 64bit - Dell. Thinking maybe I need to change the port # in the settings on Microsoft Live. BTW - we do have him set up to use the Exchange by logging into our IP - but he just cannot seem to get the hang of doing that - even though i have everything shortcutted and instructions on the desktop...Also have had him just use Log Me In - and he doesn't like the small screen..
View 5 Replies View RelatedMost of my Windows Live Mail contains embedded links. When I click on those links, I expect the URL there to be transferred to Firefox. Instead, I get a cryptic message from Windows Live Mail, "There was a problem sending the command to the program." Is there some simple trick that fixes this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been unable to forward or send emails for several days. I can receive and that's it.
The only error message I receive is "A problem has occurred, please try again".
That's it.
I used to be able to send any document to the CD/DVD drive by right-clicking the required document and selecting "Send To" and then DVD Drive. Now the "Send To" drop down menu does not include a DVD/CD drive. I accessed the "SendTo" folder and found it did not have the required shortcut. I have added it now. However; it still does not appear in the drop-down menu. A possible clue is that if I go to "Computer"; the drive is listed as CD drive (not DVD/CD). Maybe the computer thinks that I only have a CD "read only" drive. And thus is not offering me the option to send a file to it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo - a problem that I came across in a co-workers Outlook 2003 today was that when they receive an email with 2 (or more) attachments they are unable to Ctrl or Shift select them, right click and send them to print. Now, I find this odd as this was a function available in office 2000 and is available in 2007 and 2010.

I dual-boot Ubuntu and can get into the Ubuntu partition fine so I don't think anything is necessarily wrong with the harddrive, but the Ubuntu partition is tiny and I rarely use it and can't access my Windows files anyway.
Is there anything I can try that'll help repair whatever happened? I just want to run a checkdisk utility or something similar that'll repair whatever got botched.
