Getting Acer Aspire 5250 Boot Disc?
Aug 10, 2012my acer aspire 5250 shut down 3 days ago when i powered it up it says i need a boot disc i dont have the money to buy it is there any way to get my system back up with out the disc?

May 18, 2010I installed Windows 7 32 bit with no issues on an Acer Aspire 3690. Later I found out the single core processor (a Celeron M 420) is compatible with 64-bit.
So I tried installing the 64 bit version and everything goes smoothly until the final reboot. Then I get a warning about the installation failing, and it reverts to 32. On boot I get "This version of Windows could not be installed. Your previous version of Windows has been restored" blah blah etc.
I tried the upgrade advisor and it warned that my half-gig of ram is low, but otherwise it should be ok.

Jan 7, 2010i just upgraded and have a few issues. altogether windows 7 is fine but in devices and printers ive got CRD-PC with an exclamation Mark under devices and A310 under unspecified. i have installed all the drivers from the acer website. then i also have some usage related issue, i know probably the wrong forum but i dont know where to put them plus dont wanna make a 2nd thread.
whenever i restart, i have to reselect VLC as default program to open avi's, it defaults to winamp. happens with all media files, but strangely not with nfo's (havnt tried any other files yet that i set to non default manually).
also, my toolbars disappear after evry restart. which is annoying cause i always move it so i have an XP style quickstart panel.
my system:

T7700 (2.4ghz 2mb L2 Cache 800Mhz FSB)
2GB DDR2 Ram
Geforce 8600M GT
WIndows 7 ultimate x64

ATI mobilty 4570 radeon twin graphcs job
£12.78 buys two discs to get me from vista 32 home premium to windows 7 home premium 32bit
1 upgrade disc and 1 windows 7 media disc
I decide to go with a clean install so i changed boot sequence in bios to cd first, then booted from the windows 7 media disc.
option 2 custom install i managed to delete partitions which made my restore discs effectivley scrap.
realizing there was no way back, i had to instal windows 7
all went silky smooth untill the device radeon 4000 series had code 10 cannot start
i let windows 7 update this device - rebooted...the screen never came back...the machine was ON,signal up and everything but no raster, just a mouse curser.
hmm... rebooted in safe mode, rolled back driver....screen ok but still the graphics 4570 is code 10 and cannot start.
so i inserted the acer upgrade dvd
and ran all EXCEPT the amd puma driver
rebooted
all ok
then i ran the puma driver, rebooted and the screen never came on...backlighting but no picture.
Holding down the power button i just turned it off, rebooted, pressed f7 or 8 whatever key for safe mode and chose
ENABLE LOW-RESOLUTION VIDEO (640x480)
enter...
starting windows...4/3 aspect
right click - screen resolution
change to 1600 x 900 (recommended)
no more errors

Nov 29, 2009my brother has got an acer dvd installation upgrade because he bought an acer aspire 5563 or something after july 26th.. so he got a free upgrade to windowss 7 and hes installing it on his comouter as im speaking. i have a dell dimension e521- i know that i can use the DVD again- but my question is- will the Acer DVD work on my computer?
i have used 7loader by hazar and orbit32 to only change my oem logo on my system so its acer, and the name of the oem is now acer- but will the actually DVD detect that its a dell and would not allow me to install, or let me install and when i enter my users desktop for the first time it will not let me do things because it is a dell- making my computer be unaccessible and all my work and coursework i can not be accessed- so will the acer dvd work?- meaning that i can continue my work on the best OS ever, and the whole operation will work fine, valid, and smooth without any problems?

ACER Aspire 5920G Laptop Drivers
May 7, 2009Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place, but any pointers would be hugely appreciated! I'm running an ACER Aspire 5920G laptop, which comes with Vista 32-bit installed. I'd really like to give the Windows 7 RC candidate a try, but don't want to screw anything up!
I'm going to add a new partition so I can dual-boot the existing OS with the new one, but my major concerns come from ensuring the hardware works acceptably. The graphics chipset in the 5920G is a Radeon 3470 HD Mobility, and I keep it up to date under Vista using the Mobility Modifier software. Will the same modified drivers work fine with Windows 7 RC? (I'm hoping that there might be someone on this board who's been in a similar position).
Also (and this isn't quite on the topic of drivers), the laptop has 4gb of RAM installed - is it worth using a 64-bit version of Windows 7 RC, or does that complicate matters unnecessarily?

Feb 15, 2010I bought an Acer Aspire 5530 (os-w7) from online. All were working great during the initial set up.
But when i turned it off and then turned it on on the next day i received this message saying start up repair (recommended) and the other one is start windows normally.
So what i did was i chose start up repair and it took so long before windows showed up. The windows just showed up, nothing happened, it freeze. I tried it many times but same result. Can you tell me what is the problem of my laptop?

Apr 3, 2012I am having an insane amount of trouble with my Acer Aspire laptop that was working correctly until all the sudden the wireless went out stating that there is 'no networking hardware'I'm not sure what could cause this but two new things happened the night it went out.1. I bought a wireless signal for my desktop (I read somewhere in the Windows help files that the signal could knock out others I think it's silly but who knows)2. I bought a new mouse, tried to install it only to find that numerous people could not find the hardware for it. It went from lit up with no hardware found, nonfunctional. To not lit up but the computer still tried to install the software, no good. I feel like this problem is mainly associated with a cheap mouse because I wasn't the only one who could not install it.Those are the only two new things to happen to this laptop in the 24 hour period it went from functioning to no wireless hardware what so ever. My router is 2 feet away. I have tried removing the battery and disconnecting it from the wall, have tried turning off the signal, then on again. I have also restored my computer twice, back to a time earlier in the day when it didn't do the most recent windows update.And nothing. I don't want to say the internal hardware somehow fried but something went wrong somewhere.What is some steps I can do to try to test or fix this problem? Because Windows 7 help doesn't even acknowledge that this could happen at all nor does it say there is anything wrong with any of the devices on the laptop.Some information about the laptop:Windows 7, Service Pack 1Acer Aspire 7551AMD Phenom II N970 Quad-Core processor 2.20Ghz4G of useable RAM64 bit OSWireless Adapter: Atheros AR5B97Please note that I have also tired to hardwire this computer to my router and it would still not register that it has an internet connection nor would windows detect there was any problem with this at all.EDIT:I downloaded the drivers from the Atheros website and put them on a USB drive from my desktop. After looking at and running Real Temp and Prime 95, I believed it was simple over heating .It is under warranty so I took it in for repair, I just picked it up and they said the fan and vents needed cleaning, that is why it is getting hot and shutting down.Now I re-ran Prime 95 and it still shut down after 1 hour roughly. Real Temp said it was 89 Degrees C.
So is this normal for laptops??? I costume build my PC and it never shuts down on running Prime 95. Even I did overclocked it.
